  • Arrived exactly as I remembered Ange où Démon by Givenchy, but with a more pronounced leather note, which is precisely what I was looking for. It’s powerful and makes a statement, less dark than some suggest, with well-integrated flowers that give it a fresh and elegant touch, perfect for evening or night. It has lasted over 10 hours on my skin and will surely linger on clothes for much longer. A successful blind buy for my taste. Enjoy!

  • A different fragrance, not one to buy blindly. The yellow floral and opening are not what one usually expects. The nutmeg adds an aromatic touch with great character, making it difficult and moving it away from the feminine side, focusing it on the unisex.

  • It’s a distinct fragrance; I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind. The opening of yellow floral and nutmeg gives it a very strong aromatic character with its own personality. This makes it complex, distancing it from the feminine side and placing it firmly in unisex territory.

  • I’ve just received it and it’s an instant reminder of Givenchy’s Ange ou Démon, only the leather note is more pronounced… and that’s exactly what I wanted! It’s potent and has presence, not as dark as people say. The floral nuances are well-blended and give it a certain candour, placing it in elegant unisex territory for evening wear. It has excellent longevity, over 10 hours on the skin, and I suppose it will stick to clothes for a long time. A successful blind buy given my tastes. Enjoy!

Wow, a stunning opening with a very pleasant fruity scent. The rose is noticeable, albeit subtle. As it dries down, a light leather note and a hint of incense emerge, making it very suitable for going out at night. I’ll continue using it to better assess its performance and longevity.

  • At first, it smells lovely, like dried fruits with citrus and roses, but that lasts only about 15 minutes. Then, as it dries down, in my opinion, it smells like cockroach repellent, giving me the creeps just from sniffing it. It has a mysterious aura, but that acidic leather note is simply not to my taste.

  • The opening smells rich, like dried fruits with citrus and roses, but that lasts only about 15 minutes. Then, upon drying down, in my opinion, it smells like cockroach repellent; it gives me the shivers just to smell it. It creates a mysterious aura, but that acidic leather is not to my liking.

  • To me, it’s totally feminine. After eight months of oxidation, it’s sweet with woody nuances. I applied it yesterday at 5:30 PM and can still smell it at 9:30 AM today. Incredible.

  • Yesterday, in a perfumery, seeing how beautiful the bottle was, I went straight to smell it. It reminded me very much of Ange ou Demon, so I bought it. I compared it on my wrists with both: yes, they are similar. There are notes, I believe leather and nutmeg, that dominate both and give the sensation of being the same perfume, but they are not. Ange ou Demon is more complex, rich, and feminine, with a sweetness that lends delicacy, something Philos Opus Noir lacks. Noir does carry a woman (I am one and I wear it without compunction), but the leather makes it as masculine as it is feminine. Ange ou Demon has more power and sillage, something I wish the Givenchy one had. If you have Ange ou Demon and feel it lacks punch, buy Philos Opus Noir, which is superb value, to boost it. This perfume has everything Ange ou Demon is missing.

  • This is a monster in terms of longevity. The problem is that, for some reason I can’t quite identify—perhaps the ylang-ylang—my wife gets stomach aches from it. I look for perfumes that make her want to come closer to me.

  • It begins with slightly fermented fruits before yielding to nutmeg. The leather is rich but tends to hide on my skin. The performance is beastly, leaving the room saturated for hours. It’s difficult to distinguish the notes, but it smells of ambered leather with citrus, roses, and resinous woods like incense. I disagree with other comments: on my skin, it is totally feminine—not of a cheerful woman, but of that mysterious woman in black who only smiles for photographs. The nutmeg is very potent, sweet, and paired with rose, nothing salty or spicy. I do not recommend buying it blindly, especially if you are a beginner or don’t believe in unisex scents. It is not a street scent, certainly not with today’s olfactory trends. It is not for someone seeking a dowdy, grandmotherly perfume.

  • It gives me immediate revulsion when I apply it. The intensity is brutal, and the opening is very floral, but quite frankly, it just doesn’t work for me. My wife hasn’t given it the green light either.

It repels me the moment I apply it. I acknowledge it’s quite intense and very floral at first, but personally, I don’t like it. My wife also thought it smelled bad.
