  My first oud purchase. Watch out: it needs to mature. The opening smells synthetic with rose and wood, but after a few hours it improves significantly: the rose recedes, leaving a sweet, floral, balsamic and dark scent with a subtle smoky touch. It looks elegant, not cloying. Don’t test it directly on your skin; it shines in the air. I think it’s unisex, though as it dries down it leans masculine. Longevity is monstrous: 12 hours with four sprays and it fills the room. It lasts days on clothes, reminding you of fabric softener. Better for cold weather.

  My first fragrance purchase with an oud note. Note that it needs maceration: the opening is very synthetic with rose and wood, but after drying down for a couple of hours it improves massively, the rose lowers and it becomes sweet, floral, balsamic and dark for hours, with a subtle smoky tone that I don’t always perceive. It gives the impression of wearing something elegant because it’s not cloying. I recommend not smelling it directly from the skin when testing, as it feels better in the air. Overall, I think it’s unisex, although as it dries down it leans towards masculine. It has a monstrous longevity of at least 12 hours with 4 sprays and fills rooms. It lingers on clothes for days and reminds me of fabric softener. Best for cold temperatures.

  For me, it’s a wonder: that strong smell of a mechanic’s workshop mixed with very ripe red fruits (sweet and sour) makes you think it will be a beast, but the intensity drops quickly, leaving a scent heavily marked by wood, incense (undeclared) and a very soft floral. It would be one of my favourites if it had more projection and longevity. On clothes, it lasts 24 hours or more; on skin, about 6-7 hours and very close to the skin. For those worried about compliments… zero. For those comparing it to Opulent Oud… zero as well; the oud in Opulent is almost faecal, but it’s identical to Swiss Arabian’s Shagaf Oud with the revs turned down. 10 for scent, 8 for longevity, 8 for projection.

  One of my favourites: a combination that can’t go wrong. Rose, oud and amber. It’s warm, dark and potent, but not invasive. The oud is elegant and not animalic at all, and the powdery rose is very rich. Perhaps better for autumn/winter than for summer. Perfect for a formal dinner with your partner or friends.

  One of my favourites: rose, oud and amber make an unbeatable blend. It’s warm, dark and potent without being intrusive; the oud is elegant and not at all animalistic, paired with a rich, powdery rose. Perhaps better suited for autumn/winter than summer. Ideal for formal dinners with a partner or friends.

  I found it the other day at a Massimo Dutti and couldn’t resist taking the bottle. I love the scent: initially, it smells of rose with nuances of undeclared red fruits and a dark oud that complements it. As it dries down, the rose predominates with the oud in the background, giving a deep, balsamic sensation alongside the amber. The scent is well-cohesive; the notes blend perfectly. It’s not an offensive or difficult oud; despite being intense, it can please the public. I’d even consider it good for beginners in oud perfumes. The longevity is correct; I don’t find it as nuclear as people say; in my case, it lasts 5-7 hours on skin, projecting softly for 1-2 hours afterwards. I’m happy with the price. I see it as more of a night scent, but it could work during the day in informal settings. Only for cold temperatures: winter, autumn, and spring depending on where you live.

  A rich aroma of synthetic gum oud, red fruits, and rose. A brutal trail that fills the whole room with just the right longevity. Perfect for the cold, zero for work. I see it as on par with any Montale, but with an exceptional price. It’s a pity it’s discontinued. The responsible parties should answer to justice.

  Watch out for the cold, as below 17°C it really comes alive. I don’t detect the oud or roses, just a synthetic amber and a fixative that don’t convince me. Initially, the rose came through, but now only that amber and fixative remain. At €32 for 100ml, it’s decent if you like to make a statement, but before spending more on something I don’t like, I’d prefer not to risk it. It’s super long-lasting, too much; it’s noticeable three days later, and if it lands on your clothes, goodbye. I wouldn’t recommend it: I wanted a daily winter scent, and this isn’t it. Too strong, with nonsensical harshness and an stupidly long duration. I left it after two months; I just couldn’t handle it.

  Suitable for temperatures below 17°C. I don’t detect the oud or the roses, or they are very synthetic; I only sense a rather unpleasant amber and the fixative. At first the rose was more noticeable, but now only the amber and fixative remain. At 32€ for 100ml it’s decent for someone wanting to make a statement, but before using something I don’t like, I’d prefer to spend more. It’s super long-lasting, too much: noticeable three days later and if it lands on clothes, forget it. I wouldn’t recommend it: I wanted a winter perfume for daily wear, but I can’t wear this. It’s too strong, with pointless harshness and an stupidly long duration. I stopped using it after two months; I couldn’t stand it.
