Smells similar to the original but is more serious and formal due to the leather, although the opening smells of lime. Ideal for cold winters or autumn, and sometimes in spring when dressed up. Projects well with good longevity; three applications are more than enough.
Smells similar to the original but is more serious due to the leather, although the opening smells of lime. Ideal for cold winters or autumn, and sometimes in spring for a sharp look. Projects well with good longevity; three sprays are more than enough.
Of the Solo versions, this is the one I like the most, perhaps due to the leather and black tea notes that soften the dry down. Mandarin dominates as in the others. They have low trail, almost for personal enjoyment or with a partner, but longevity is good. I’m not sure if I’d buy it, but it’s not bad; generally they are very pleasant.
Hard to disagree with the previous reviews: the best in the family is Solo Loewe Platinum. It’s delicate, exquisite and rare. On my skin it lasts even after a shower. The sillage is poor, but the skin projection is excellent. It’s 100% refined, no half measures. I’d give it 4.5/5.
Hard to disagree with the previous reviewers: Solo Loewe Platinum is the best. Delicate, exquisite, and rare. It lasts all day on my skin. The sillage is poor, but the longevity is excellent. Refined to the 100%, no half measures. I’d give it 4.5/5.
Hello, I’m not an expert on notes, but this fragrance is brilliant. It smells very masculine with that leather note giving it character. The trail is moderate, nothing extravagant, and the longevity and projection are good. Paired with the original Solo, they’re fantastic; I hope to try the cedar one soon, it’s sure to be spectacular.
Loewe went all out with this one, but for the price, I expected more. It’s a soft, commercial scent that’s pleasant at first with an opening that promises something better, but then it settles into something simple and generic, like old-fashioned barbershop shaving soap.
Superior fragrance for rare occasions (due to its price), but its scent will accompany you for a long time. A very good flanker of Solo that surpasses it at times. Enjoy it.
Very rich and tasty scent, it surpasses its older brother. I love its evolution.
Not my style, and I’m not a fan of the Solo family, but this one amuses me. Dry incense, spices, leather, and tea; nothing fresh, more of a classic masculine scent. I imagine the benzoin adds a subtle counterpoint that works well. It lacks power; it’s dry and serious, but nothing compared to Private Label or Dark Aoud. It’s clear this is more of a designer fragrance.
The truth is it’s not my favourite style and the Solo family in general doesn’t suit me, but I must admit this one has a certain charm to it. Dry incense, slightly unburnt, spices, leather, and tea (nothing fresh), plus cedar, make this perfume a classic masculine scent. I imagine the benzoin gives it a subtle, abstract counterpoint that works very well. It could use more potency. Although it is dry and serious, it’s nothing compared to Private Label or Dark Aoud in impact; this one clearly leans more towards the designer vibe.
A good option for fresh days at meetings or presentations. It conveys seriousness and sobriety. I see it more for men aged 30+.
I love it! I was hesitating between the normal Solo and the Cedar one, and upon trying this, my doubts vanished immediately. It has woody notes but much more sophisticated, elegant, glossy, full of colour and sobriety. It fascinated me. The only downside is the price. Scent 10, Longevity 7-7.5, Sillage 7.
Pleasantly surprised: an incredible and original scent, formal, masculine, and seductive. Moderate trail but good longevity. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny for having this little-known gem. Cheers.
I was pleasantly surprised. It has an incredible and very original scent, with a formal, masculine, and seductive air at the same time. Sillage is moderate but with good longevity. It’s not very cheap, but it definitely deserves every penny to have this little-known jewel. Regards.
More complex and full of nuances, with performance similar to the classic. At first, they seem alike, but they are clearly distinct. This has a more sophisticated, formal aura and is less generic, although they are familiar scents. It is less ‘harsh’ than the original, which saturates with its citrus explosion. It sits more balanced between orange, lavender, and leather. The heart is different: the original stays the same, while Platinum moves from a light freshness to something soft and rounded. It’s my first leather fragrance (I tried Fahrenheit but didn’t use it). Here, the leather is in the base, adorning a burnt orange scent. It’s curious that it doesn’t declare citrus notes, but it has a spark of orange or guava. It’s not the fresh, sweet orange of Arancia di Capri, but synthetic and a bit harsh, mixed with smoky incense. It lasts 6-7 hours on skin, evolving slowly. It projects and lasts like the original. Platinum is more elegant, so we forgive the moderate sillage. I’ve spent 175ml of the classic and I like the change. The original bores me due to its lack of evolution; this is dynamic. Without a doubt, the best flanker. Elegant, versatile, synthetic, masculine, and very pleasant. Bottle same but with black metal: 10. Scent: 8.5. Versatility: 7. Sillage: 6.5. Longevity: 7.5.
Freshly applied, it smells citrusy and slightly affected, with a faint leather base. I don’t notice the typical incense from the 7 collection. The scent is charming with reasonable projection. I haven’t tested the longevity thoroughly, but after half an hour, it seems more than enough. I really like it; I own several from this collection and the cedar one is my favourite. I would recommend it without doubt; it’s elegant.
Something strange happens with this one: at first, it smells like Gentleman Only Absolute by Givenchy, surely due to the nutmeg over wood. There’s a touch of tea and incense, but the nutmeg dominates until the heart, where thyme and lavender become more noticeable over a ‘new’ leather. That’s where I fall in love. Performance with distinction: it lasts a working day. Sillage is heavy for the first hour, moderate after three hours, and skin-close until 7-8 pm. Conclusion: mixed feelings. Generic opening, magnificent dry-down. It depends on whether you value the opening or the dry-down more; I choose the latter. As for you? In my case, it would be an excellent signature scent.
My first fragrance from this Spanish house and it has impressed me, even though I’m not a fan of resinous or leather scents. I associate it with a spiced woody scent, but it doesn’t have those notes; it reminds me of The One by D&G, sharp at first but not intrusive, with a sublime and addictive dry-down. It lasts on clothes until the next day. It’s like the traditional Solo but with incense and benzoin, better for temperate/winter climates and formal occasions. The traditional is more versatile. The Platinum is an ‘intense’ version. Delicious, exquisite, and refined. Recommended.
My first fragrance from this Spanish house and it has left me speechless, even though I’m not a fan of resinous or leather scents. I always associated them with woody and spicy notes, but there isn’t a hint of that here. It reminds me of The One by Dolce & Gabbana: they don’t smell the same, but it’s in that style, sharp at first but not annoying. The dry-down is sublime and addictive; it lingers on clothes until the next day. It’s like the classic Solo but with added incense and benzoin. It suits temperate climates, serious occasions, and is the ‘intense’ version. The original is more versatile. This opens me up to this olfactive family. Delicious, exquisite, and refined. Recommended.
An unforgettable story: I went out to buy a perfume for a friend, not for myself. The shop assistant asked if I wanted to try Loewe’s Solo Platinum. Acting like an expert, I nodded and dismissively said, ‘Right, let me have a look.’ End of story… I ended up buying two bottles and almost staged the classic scene of gifting it and then getting hooked (with a face that said… shit, I want one too). This perfume carries its difference within it, at least compared to current perfumery. I won’t list the notes; perfumes should be reviewed as a whole, but this has a sensual scent coded into its DNA, suitable for any season, day, or night, and believe me, I live in a warm place all year round. It’s manly! Sophisticated! It easily lasts eight hours and generates endless compliments.
I agree with those who say it smells like The One EDP, not because it’s a clone, but because they target the same moment: the tea here is acidic and bitter like citrus, the soft leather takes the place of tobacco, and the resins replace the amber. It’s a modern, elegant, and very versatile man, though I set it aside in the heat. Ideal as a signature scent or for the office, it doesn’t overpower. I personally prefer The One, but this Solo Platinum performs better on the skin and comes in a hard black box with a side-opening, very premium. It deserves more love 😁 Scent: 8.75 Longevity: 7.5 Projection: 6 Sillage: 7 Versatility: 8.5 Value for Money: 8.25
I agree with those who said it reminded them of D&G The One EDP, not because it resembles it, but because they aim for similar usage scenarios and have a comparable structure. The freshness of D&G here is the tea—acidic and bitter like citrus; the tobacco of The One is replaced by soft leather; and the amber is swapped for resins. It’s a masculine, modern, elegant, and versatile fragrance. I avoid it in the heat. It’s perfect for signing off or working indoors; it doesn’t invade personal space. I prefer The One, but Solo Platinum lasts longer on skin and comes in a hard black cardboard box, feeling more premium. It deserves more love 😁 Scent: 8.75 Longevity: 7.5 Projection: 6 Sillage: 7 Versatility: 8.5 Price: 8.25
At first, I adored it; it had something mystical that fascinated me, so I bought a 50ml bottle. But within two weeks, everything I liked began to annoy me. The opening is terribly synthetic and prefabricated, smelling like a chemist’s shop, albeit better constructed. I don’t detect the leather or incense, only perhaps nutmeg at the end and a touch of lavender. It’s linear with no evolution, and that mystical touch is gone. I won’t be buying it again. It can be worn in any season; it’s not fresh, but it’s not unpleasant or overly projecting.
I bought it blind and it was a total hit. I adore it: masculine, versatile, elegant, and unique. It’s not youthful, yet it doesn’t smell like an old man; it’s clean without being like shower gel. The opening is fresh but has depth from black tea, cedar, and lavender; it feels like stepping into a wooden cabin on a hot day, with cool shade and an iced tea. What I notice most is the lavender, cedar, and tea. I only detect the white musk that cleans it up and a very subtle benzoin. For me, it’s a 10; I don’t mind it being linear, it has low projection, and lasts about six hours on skin and less on clothes the next day. It’s perfect for the office. What a pity it’s discontinued, but you can still find it online. Worth it if you’re looking for something fresh and woody, not citrus or aquatic. I loved it so much I bought a spare bottle.
One of my best discoveries; women absolutely love it.
Found it half-used, with less than half remaining, and I’m desperate because it’s no longer available 😔. Just two things: sophisticated and smells rich. It’s the scent of people with money. 10/10.
Delicious, elegant and fresh perfume. Cedar dominates; if I wore it blind, I’d say it’s the same as the cedar-only version.
Leather and incense are the stars here. That typical Loewe leather blended with an incense resin that softens the tea, and above all, the lavender. Medium-low projection for a scent that gives you empowerment and character.
What a pity they’ve discontinued it; did they strip the shine from the original? They’re very similar, but this one should be the king… beautiful. Lasts longer than usual, receiving countless compliments. Bring back Platinum!
Just bought it and the performance is incredible; it evolves like a wild sea: starts with leather, cedar and incense, then tea joins the lavender, before settling into just lavender and thyme. Lasts 8 to 10 hours with a moderate projection of about 3 metres. Already want another bottle 🙂
