It’s an absolute beast, brutally spectacular. Unworldly cleanliness, elegance and balance. Citrus with orange blossom and lemon, a touch of honeysuckle and aldehydes that make it bright and sparkling. If you look closely, there’s a dirtier note at the base that rounds it off almost perfectly. At first, it smells like CK One but with far greater quality and distinction. Watch out, though; it’s barely noticeable beyond 3cm from the skin; the projection and longevity are a disaster and the price is ridiculous for what you get. It’s nonsense: it gives you everything and then takes it all away in an instant.
I was gifted a sample and loved it so much they gave it to me for my birthday. It smells delicious, fresh and authentic, but lasts zero seconds. For over 100 euros, being a Frederic Malle, it’s a joke of bad taste. If you have money to spare and want something lovely for the house or the sheets, buy it. If it’s for everyday wear, don’t even think about it.
Sofia plays with the contrast between fresh and warm. The fresh notes are natural and citrusy, while the warm ones are synthetic, metallic and highlighted, much like in Laine de Verre. Ambroxan, cinnamon and musk envelop you like the waves of the sea on a moonlit night. It is very conceptual, evolving softly and persistently, yet lacking power. The composition is rounded and well-crafted. The downside is the price-to-quality ratio; I wouldn’t pay that much for this. Rating: 7
