More than pepper, it smells overwhelmingly of smoked black rose, I suppose due to the tobacco flower. A very nocturnal, addictive scent with good longevity.
I loved it, especially as it was my first time trying it.
The opening of White Musk Smoky Rose feels a bit generic. What I notice most is the blend of pepper and blackcurrant. Over time, I’ve realised that scents with that blackcurrant note don’t really grab me. The dry-down reveals that dark rose I adore so much, but the initial notes make me think I won’t be buying it again. I’ll try to finish the 20 ml I have left this year.

Black, nocturnal and potent. It’s the counterpart to White Musk: it keeps the DNA but flips the vibe. While the other begs for sun and work, this screams moon, night and party. That duality is pure magic. I’ve just emptied the bottle, enjoying it 100%. You can detect the incense amongst the red fruits and soft florals, like a La Nuit Trésor but without the caramel, more like fresh, juicy blackcurrants. If I have to nitpick, it smells a bit more alcoholic than the original. 🕯️ 9/10.🔥
