  I’ve fallen in love with this The Body Shop perfume; I also adore its sibling, White Musk. The only drawback is the longevity. I find it very winter-appropriate, though it wouldn’t go amiss in other seasons. It was a triumph after the letdown I had with Red Musk, where the pepper combined with tobacco is overwhelming and suffocating. Here, the pepper is devilishly sharp, and what comes through is licorice with a hint of chocolate. If it lasted longer, it would become one of my favourites. It’s a fine, delicate gourmand, highly recommended.

  It’s a gourmand scent that leads you right into addiction: if something sweet makes you crave it, don’t sniff it because you’ll be tempted to take a dessert to your mouth. It opens with vanilla over a base of aniseed and licorice, then settles into a chocolatey dry-down that lasts up to four hours. It’s soft, and that’s good, because if it were stronger, I’d find it cloying.

  It’s one of my heart perfumes. I already own the oil and I’m dying to try the other format. I searched for it for quite a while before buying it. My mother has been wearing White Musk for years, so it has immense sentimental value. It’s hard to explain; normally sweets make me gag and give me a headache, but this is another world altogether. It smells comforting to me and I can’t quite identify the notes. It’s true it doesn’t last as long as others and doesn’t have much of a trail, but for me, that’s its charm. It feels intimate and addictive: I always want to smell it and bring my wrists to my nose; I’m sure if they see me, they’ll think I’m mad. Right now, it’s the one I most want to wear, and I think it suits every season. It reminds me more of autumn, but I bought it in summer and it hasn’t let me down in any season.
