I’m not a fan of easy fragrances like Sauvage or Invictus, but sometimes I need them and prefer the clones. This one does the job well: it lasts 5 to 7 hours with medium to strong projection depending on how much you apply. I paid about 250 pesos and consider it a good bargain.
Yesterday I was gifted a two-piece set of 100ml fragrances: this one and the ‘summer’ version (which isn’t on Fragrantica). They are clones of Invictus and Invictus Aqua. I’ve been wearing this for 5 hours and it’s still skin-scent only. The bottle isn’t the same as the photo; it has the ‘Man 2017’ collection shape but in this colour; the summer version is more green with a light grey cap. The box is nice, featuring images of Seoul’s skyscrapers for this one and a park for the summer. They’re cheap, so if you like Invictus, the set is a steal; if you already own them, it’s redundant.
Has anyone noticed the difference between this, Blue Man Spirit, and the original Zara? All three smell like Invictus! For the price, it’s fine, but its longevity is weak and the trail is moderate; you have to reapply constantly, which is its main weakness compared to the other two.
Starts with a citrus and aquatic burst dominated by tangerine. After a while, it warms up and loses that initial freshness. Smells super clean and is perfect for both the gym and the office; it’s not intrusive. It doesn’t seek attention but rather goes unnoticed while smelling great. The dry down is a pleasure, and at around £10, it’s a must-buy.
What a fragrance for its economical price, equal to Invictus, too similar. Yesterday I used it and received several compliments. I went to a market and the two girls who attended said as soon as I entered: ‘What a lovely perfume, which one is it?’ After buying a beer, I went to my cousin’s place, entered, and three cousins gave me three more good compliments. So it is worth it, but one must apply it generously.
Today, 12 October, I am at another birthday party with this same perfume, and once again it stands out… people asking what perfume it is, how delicious it is… More compliments than greetings… Obviously, I did not say which one it is so they do not all start using it… I recommend it just as much as Invictus, but with less projection. I recommend this perfume because it is economical; buying two 100 ml bottles and spraying them on clothes also gives a good trail and lasts until the next day on fabric.
Mandarin water with a slight sweetness, barely acceptable, with the same performance as all Zara fragrances. I have never tried Invictus, but now I ask myself: is something so mass-produced, a sales leader, and as I know, really such a bland fragrance with little substance? Besides, people also say King of Seduction Absolute is similar to the PR fragrance… I own the Banderas one, and they are both water and oil… One of the two comparisons with Invictus must be wrong. I add: the notes listed on the box are as follows: top notes of incense, pepper, rhubarb and Yuzu(?), middle notes of jasmine, orange blossom and violet, and base notes of cedarwood, musk and vanilla.
While my boyfriend was trying on clothes, I was browsing the men’s perfumes and came across this scent. I stopped in my tracks because it seemed so different from the others around it. A very good combination. Upon smelling the bottle, the marine note is very prominent, but once on the skin, the mandarin begins to take centre stage. It has excellent longevity.
Among the base notes, Zara states on the box itself that Coumarin is included; it is a natural ingredient that must be declared by law as it can cause allergic reactions depending on the quantity. I am unsure why it is not mentioned in this review when describing the components. Perhaps it was precisely for the reason stated, i.e., because the amount is small. In any case, I thought it appropriate to mention it. The perfume has moderate projection and trail, and it is for certain tastes (not for everyone). I understand one should try it before deciding, but this is currently impossible—at least as far as I know in Spain—because there are no testers in Zara stores, nor 12 ml vials or samples available for purchase online.
As an eau de toilette for everyday wear, it’s not bad. I don’t share the view that it feels synthetic. I’m not saying it isn’t, but at least I don’t perceive it that way. It’s pleasant, a bit sweeter than I’d like, but well, quite good. I don’t know Invictus, but I can say that Seoul is a generalist, easy, mainstream fragrance. In short, pleasant but without any personal charm of its own. Just another one.
I won’t discuss notes as the website already describes them. For me, it’s an aquatic fragrance, slightly sweet with a very faint citrus touch. It seems very pleasant to the nose; I don’t perceive it as synthetic. It makes me feel fresh and clean; I consider it very versatile, suitable for the office, or going out to open or closed spaces. Scent: 8/10. Longevity: approx. 4 to 5 hours. Projection: moderate. Price: $13. Cost-benefit ratio: 9/10.
A cologne that perfectly summarises what Zara is in general and its perfume line: economical, functional, pleasant, and easy. Nothing innovative, except for occasional cases of real merit, fragrances that we all already know. I like it. It’s a pity it doesn’t have long-lasting power on my skin. I like it, and it’s very much to everyone’s taste. It receives compliments; it is certainly similar to Invictus, and I’d even say it’s better for me. I’m not a fan of the Rabanne one, which is overused, linear, not novel, and adds nothing. However, this has a rich, sweet amber touch that suits my skin and style better. I invite you to try it, and if you like it, get the pack with Lisbon. It’s also worth it. I’ll review this properly on its site once I’ve used it for a few more days. Hugs to fellow fragrance lovers.
It’s a clone of Invictus but ten times cheaper and slightly less long-lasting. I prefer it because nobody is going to notice it isn’t Invictus, and I’m over spending £60 on something as trite as the PR original. It smells easy, generic, simple yet effective; girls like smelling it on a man. It smells clean, of citrus tangerine, and marine notes. Recommended in a pack for £13 for two bottles, even if it’s just for the gym or the beach, you’ll use it.
A cologne that sums up Zara: economical, functional, pleasant, and easy. Nothing innovative, except for a few standout cases with fragrances we all already know. I like it. It’s a pity it doesn’t last long on my skin. I like it and it’s to everyone’s taste; it receives compliments. It’s very similar to Invictus, and I’d even say it’s better for me. I’m not a fan of Rabanne, which is overused, linear, and adds nothing. This has a rich, sweet, amber note that suits my skin and style better. I invite you to try it, and if you like it, buy the set with Lisbon. It’s also worth it on its own. I’ll talk about this one properly once I’ve used it for a few more days. Fragrance hugs!
I compare this to Invictus, owning both. While the quality is similar, for those who haven’t compared them side by side, it’s a great fragrance. It comes out very synthetic and alcoholic at first, but within minutes reveals citrus and sweet notes, like tangerine. Ideal for everyday wear; in my tests, it lasts between 4 and 5 hours. You can keep it in your school bag or work bag and spritz it to get through the day. The price is insane—I bought it in 2018 in a pack with the Winter version for under £30. I’d recommend the pack with Lisbon more. It does the job for daily use. Good, pretty, and cheap. Scent: 8, Longevity: 8, Sillage: 7, Value: 10. Final rating: 8.2.
I don’t see it as a 100% clone of Invictus; it’s inspired by it, but Seoul is more ‘wearable’. The mandarin is noticeable, a key difference from Paco Rabanne. It has a softer trail (though it lasts a couple of hours) and slightly less longevity, yet it remains quite persistent. I own Zara Till 8am, which is similar, but Seoul is fresher, giving it more versatility; I see the other one for autumn/winter due to its sweeter dry-down. For the price, you can’t ask for more: average designer EDT performance, good projection for a couple of hours (and you can over-apply), and a common, synthetic scent at the start that softens later. It generally pleases and is valid for everyday wear. The pack with Lisboa or Seoul Summer is highly recommended; it’s ridiculously cheap. Best wishes.
I bought it recently and found it very good. It’s pleasant from the start, not too strong, with a sweet orange and a touch of aquatic notes. I’ve received many compliments; everyone likes it and is amazed it’s from Zara. It lasts me a minimum of 8 hours with 6 sprays. It projects easily to 1 metre, then becomes subtler but is still noticeable at half a metre. I would recommend it widely.
I just bought it and, for me, it’s very good. It’s very pleasant from the start, not too strong; you can detect a slightly sweet orange and a very aquatic touch. I’ve received multiple compliments; it’s a fragrance everyone likes and is surprised when I tell them it’s Zara Seoul. It lasts at least 8 hours with 6 sprays; it projects easily to a metre and then becomes subtler, but it’s still noticeable at half a metre. I would recommend it widely.
I hadn’t used it in ages and was hugely surprised. I applied it at 2 PM and it lasted until noon the following day. A delightful surprise; I didn’t remember it lasting so long.
Opens with mandarin and aquatic notes, with a good dry-down. It’s a clean fragrance. It projects well but doesn’t last long, so you need to over-apply.
At first I thought it didn’t last long, but by the next day it lasted nearly 8 hours. It’s superbly rich, clean and fresh. It doesn’t resemble Invictus as much; to me it’s fresher and lasts longer.
A clean, refreshing fragrance, perfect for everyday wear because it doesn’t overpower. It recalls Invictus but with lower quality and projection. As for value for money, it’s excellent, especially since it lasts 8 to 10 hours on the skin. I’d give it 8.5/10.
Seoul is spectacular and very similar to Invictus, especially once it has dried down. It’s the same style for a fifth of the price of Paco Rabanne, making it a smart purchase. Comparing them, Invictus lasts and projects about 15% better, but the scent is almost identical; that difference isn’t worth five or six times more. Some say it’s synthetic, but I don’t detect it. Totally recommended, and with the Lisbon pack you get a clone of Acqua Di Gio.
I bought it for its resemblance to Invictus, along with the Lisbon for $22. It smells good, with aquatic notes and a sweet citrus, more orange than tangerine. Probably the ‘ylang’ from the East gives it that exotic herbal touch. There’s a very subtle hint of pepper. The issue is projection and longevity: about a metre away for an hour, then skin scent. It doesn’t last more than four hours, but for the price, it’s reasonable. It fulfils its purpose without standing out, ideal for men aged 16 to 27 in casual settings. Scent: 7/10, projection: 5/10, longevity: 4/10, versatility: 7.5/10.
Zara Seoul is spectacular, super similar to Invictus, especially when dry. It’s the same style and scent for 1/5th the price of Paco Rabanne, making it a smart purchase. Comparing them, I have both: Invictus lasts and projects about 15% better, but in scent and quality, they’re practically the same; that difference isn’t worth five or six times more. They say it’s more synthetic, which only experts notice, but I don’t perceive it. Highly recommended, and if you buy it with Lisbon, you get an almost identical clone of Acqua Di Gio (which I also recommend).
Seoul smells like Invictus in the dry-down, though the opening is dominated by a strong peppery note. Longevity and projection are moderate, typical of Zara. It’s a good option from their catalogue, and I’d recommend the pack with Lisbon for €15.85, which is a real bargain.
Seoul has a base that clearly recalls Invictus, although it’s somewhat eclipsed by the overwhelming amount of pepper it has at the beginning. Longevity and projection are moderate, like most Zara colognes. It’s a good option within its catalogue and is recommended to buy it with the set including Lisbon for £15.85. It’s a bargain.
Looking for a great scent today without breaking the bank? This is your option. It doesn’t last all day, so you’ll need to reapply mid-morning, but given the price, it’s no bother. It’s versatile, perfect for daytime and hot weather. Clearly, I’ll be using this a lot.
This perfume started my collection. I already had others from more famous houses, but looking for something economical, I found this. From Zara, it’s the one that lasted longest on my skin, almost all day, and smelled great. That’s why I bought the set of small bottles with Lisbon. It delivers, performance at the level of or better than the original. I liked it so much I sought out the discontinued 100ml bottle, which smells even better. Unfortunately, I was disabused when a teenager stopped on the metro with a very strong scent of this DNA. That day I understood what ‘mass-produced’ meant. I still think it smells rich, people like it, and it’s excellent for hot days.
An exquisite aroma for everyday wear, subtle and versatile. For the price, it’s incredible. If you don’t know what to wear, it fails nowhere.
Exquisite aroma for everyday wear, subtle and versatile. For the price, it’s incredible. If you don’t know what to wear, it won’t fail you.
One of my favourites from Zara. Delicious aroma and lasts longer than many perfumes costing triple the price. If you seek olfactory experiences, this is a must. I bought it blindly based on reviews and am totally satisfied with the longevity, projection, and scent.
Fresh and lively. The sweet and fruity chords remind me of chewing gum. A girl could wear it now and then. Perfect for a summer brunch or a family party. Longevity and projection are decent. Although I have received compliments, it’s not my absolute favourite, but it smells good and is very economical. I recommend it.
At first, at my forties, it seemed very youthful, almost for teenagers. But after three days, I was hooked. It smells of mandarins, is cheerful and exquisite. Ideal for informal moments, a weekend at home, or after a workout. It lifts the mood and smells great.
In my opinion, it’s an adolescent perfume, for someone between 14 and 18, although ages in this are subjective. The aroma is almost identical to Invictus, a very good clone for the price. Personally, I hate Invictus; it gives me a headache, and this does not fall short. I have it because I bought the pack with Lisbon. If you like marine fragrances, the pack is totally recommended. It’s worth noting that the longevity, projection, and trail on my skin are quite good given the price paid.
I’m a rare case; I don’t know Invictus well, having smelled it years ago in a shop and not sure if it was the original or a flanker… So I describe what I notice in Seoul without comparing it to that. It’s a fresh citrus, not too sharp, aromatic, with a marine and amber touch that adds class. It doesn’t change much from start to finish, smells good all the time, and nothing clashes or is strident. Value for money is almost unbeatable, especially in packs (with Lisbon) for under £10 each. Performance is acceptable for an EDT: on my skin it projects about two metres initially and lasts 2 to 4 hours (perhaps more), ending very close to the skin, but it releases light, unobtrusive bursts. I tested it alongside Lisbon, and this one has slightly less performance than that.
Very similar to Invictus but without that annoying laurel note. Ideal for everyday wear, although it evolves a bit flatly; given the price, it’s a brilliant option compared to the original.
This perfume projects and lasts on clothes for ages. Those who doubt it probably haven’t tested it properly. It stays on fabric easily for 24 hours or more and projects cleanly. I bought it, tried it, and have been wearing it for five months; perhaps with time it has gained more sillage, but it lasts through a full workday without needing to be right up to the nose. Regarding the similarity to Invictus, it is very, very similar and hard to distinguish once dry.
Absolutely loved it, though I was initially sceptical because it’s from Zara and they’ve closed their shops here. My dad gifted it to me for Christmas and I wear it to school. It smells fantastic and I’ve received so many compliments; it’s ideal for sunny days at the office. I picked it up in a 2×1 deal with the Lisbon scent, which I gave to my brother, but this one is a resounding success. The longevity and projection are top-notch; people have noticed me from a distance. For the price, it’s a marvel and it lingers on clothes, retaining a soft scent even after washing. Highly recommended.
