Perfumes de Anna Chiara di Trolio

Raised in Salerno, a city in the region of Campania, near the Amalfi Coast, Anna Chiara Di Trolio has a special relationship—cultivated since an early age—with the scent of her land and the sea that surrounds her.

She was born on 8 November 1991, and the aromas that form her first olfactory imprint are precisely those of the sea and the salt- and algae-scented sea breeze. She joined Moellhausen in 2018, when she was 27, and today Anna Chiara plays the role she has always dreamed of: that of perfumer.

She attended the Faculty of Chemical and Cosmetic Technologies in Rome and became a cosmetologist with a bachelor’s thesis precisely on fragrances.

An important course of study allowed Anna Chiara to realise how, among all the accessories of cosmetics, perfume is undoubtedly the most refined and seductive, because it is linked to pleasure and the most intimate emotions of each individual.

From childhood, she had a particularly well-developed olfactory perception that made her recognise immediately the materials and spaces around her. She soon understood that to be a perfumer it is not only the nose that matters; daily olfactory training is needed, along with careful study of olfactory families, to understand the importance of the interaction between raw materials and the role of fragrance in its entirety and in every detail.

After her university studies, it is at Moellhausen where Anna Chiara has matured all her potential, beginning on the most practical side—the applications laboratory, with beakers and pipettes—before moving on to creating perfumes.

For Anna Chiara, fragrances are living creations that can be associated with musical compositions, where the harmony of a chord depends on the balance of proportions and the olfactory intensity of each note.

To do this, she is helped by her cheerful character and by an openness that leads her to capture every form of expression of reality. Without ever taking herself too seriously, she knows how to translate even the most complex thoughts and the most indecipherable sensations into fragrances. Always with a smile on her lips and a light in her eyes.
