Perfumes de Carlos Viñals

Maple syrup, vanilla, caramel: Carlos Viñals, the son of a perfumer who worked in the tobacco industry, was captivated by fragrances from a young age. Extremely humble, he often says «I was lucky» when asked about his career. However, it was his creativity and determination that impressed Bernard Chant and Carlos Benaïm only a few months after he began as an assistant at IFF, when he was selected for training as a perfumer. After a decade at the company under the direction of his mentor Carlos Benaïm, he continued his career at Givaudan, Takasago, Fragrance Resources and, finally, Symrise in 2009. Motivated by the idea that a good perfume should make the wearer smile, he has lent his talent to fashion designers (Calvin Klein, John Varvatos and Carolina Herrera), as well as niche brands (A. N. Other) and massstige brands (Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works). A father of two children who lives in New Jersey, he is a fan of Aerosmith and AC/DC and spends his free time riding a motorcycle or enjoying snow sports. He brings the same energy to his creations.

1985 – STARTS HIS APPRENTICESHIP AS A PERFUMER AT IFF UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF CARLOS BENAÏM

1994 – CREATES HIS FIRST FINE PERFUMERY PERFUME, PULL&BEAR

1994 – JOINS GIVAUDAN

2009 – JOINS SYMRISE’S CREATIVE CENTER IN NEW YORK

2009 – AWARDED BY THE FRAGRANCE FOUNDATION FOR JV X NJ SILVER EDITION
