Darren Alan

Darren is an independent perfumer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Trained in the classic method of perfumery, he has developed his own style and aesthetic over the last 28 years. He has 18 years of experience in developing fragrances for the personal care industry and creating bespoke perfumes for private clients. He describes this intensive, interactive experience as the “Bespoke Fragrance Project.” Darren enjoys creating “Olfactory Experiences” with his fragrances that literally transport the mind to another place and time. He also specialises in recreating vintage and historical perfumes, where he uses natural raw materials from the time, as well as handcrafted distillations, aromatic tinctures and absolutes made by hand, in addition to seasonal enfleurage using native flowers from western Pennsylvania.
