Denise Meles

I was born in Italy, in La Spezia, in May 1985; less than a month after I was born, I was taken to the South Tyrol mountains, where I grew up in close contact with nature. It was very beautiful and I was very alone; my comforts have always been small magical things, like lying in a meadow on August nights and waiting for the stars to fall. Everything has always had its own scent, even the letters of the alphabet that I learned at school, the words, the numbers, the colours. I have a synaesthetic mind and this has always contributed to developing in me a great hunger for anything that could stimulate my senses. I attended art school up to the fourth grade, although later I graduated in languages after a break of a few years in which I began by playing the bass and then the guitar. Today I pour my creativity into the creation of perfumed stories; I live happily among my essences in a small village overlooking the sea with my other half and my parrots. I haven’t played a musical instrument again: since I decided to go into the world of perfume, I have felt clearly that it is the connecting thread I had always wanted to find; everything goes through my nose and this represents for me the most complete art in the world.
