Karla Constâncio has 38 years of industrial experience in cosmetics, perfumery and personal care, having developed and launched thousands of products across multiple categories, including fine perfumery, body and facial care, hair care, sun protection, lines for men and children, make-up, deodorants, soaps, fragrances for the home and aromatic candles. Her expertise covers the entire production chain, including R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Microbiological and Physico-chemical Control, Cosmetovigilance, Manufacturing and Filling Operations, Production Planning and Supply Management. Trained as a pharmacist, she was honoured by the Regional Council of Pharmacy of Minas Gerais (CRF-MG) in 1991 for her contributions to the profession. She is the author of technical articles such as Contaminação Microbiológica de Produtos Cosméticos (Revista Racine, 1992) and Fitocosmética – La carrera hacia lo natural (Revista Racine, 1997). She also gave talks at the 3rd Congress of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of Ouro Preto (1993) and provided comprehensive technical consulting and training for the implementation of GNC nutritional and cosmetic supplements in Brazil in 1998. From 2000 to 2007, she served as the main instructor of the Curso de Formulação Magistral of the Associação de Farmacêuticos de Minas Gerais, teaching modules on microbiological quality, quality management and technical development of shampoos, conditioners, soaps, emulsions, gels, perfumes and sun protectors. In 2003, she was invited to present Microbiological Quality Management in the Cosmetics Industry to the technical group of ANVISA in Brasília. The Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) recognised her again in 2004 as a model professional. She joined the ABIHPEC (Associação Brasileira da Indústria de Higiene Pessoal, Perfumaria e Cosméticos) Strategic Planning Technical Group from 2004 to 2005, coordinated her Microbiology Group and contributed to the Mercosur Cosmetovigilance Manual. Between 2006 and 2008, she was part of the postgraduate teaching staff at Newton Paiva University, teaching on the postgraduate programmes in Cosmetic Science and Technology and Control and Quality Assurance. Her career includes numerous awards at the Premios Atualidade Cosmética, with wins and multiple nominations over almost two decades. She won in 2008 with the Effective Oligo Elementos hair treatment line (L’acqua di Fiori) and again in 2017 with the fragrance VET 312 (L’acqua di Fiori). From 2018 to 2025, she received various nominations in categories such as Latin American Perfumery, Fragrance Creation, Make-up Collections and Bath and Body. Highlights include the Absolut Blanc fragrances (2020), Coral Vibes, Pink Vibes and Violet Vibes (2021), Neroli di K (2022), Absolut She (2024), Yarok (2025), and the Colori Del Giardino and Cose D’amore lines (Casa Fantaguzzi). She also contributed to the ABDI/ABIHPEC/SEBRAE Microbiology Guide (2015) and has established herself as one of the most active and influential professionals in the Brazilian cosmetics industry, combining technical expertise, creative fragrance development and a legacy widely recognised by the industry, academia and the market.
