Luigi Cacciatore

I was born in Palermo in 1984 and I still live here. After interrupting my medical studies, I applied part of that knowledge to the invisible world of perfumes. One year of olfactory training with a member of I.S.I.P.C.A. and hundreds of raw materials from all over the world have been my first steps in perfumery. Scents, colours, sounds and traditions have been—and continue to be—an essential humus from which to extract lessons and inspiration. The smell that filled the countryside house in summer when my parents made tomato sauce, that basil... Or the scent of jasmine that my mother used to put in the drawers of the white laundry. All these impressions have settled like sand from an hourglass at the bottom of my imagination, and this heritage has found its window to the world in perfumery. The almost obsessive study of raw materials, both natural and synthetic, remains a daily practice of fundamental importance; everything starts there. For me, perfumery is an extraordinary form of expression for concepts and sensations that otherwise I would not be able to express.
