Born and raised in France, Vincent Schaller’s love of the art of perfumery began from an early age. His passion for scents and his power to evoke emotions led him to pursue a career in the fragrances industry. Schaller completed his Master’s in Chemical Engineering and subsequently obtained his Doctorate in Chemistry at the prestigious École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. Armed with a solid foundation in chemistry and engineering, Schaller was ready to embark on a journey to create unforgettable fragrances.
Vincent Schaller began his illustrious career with Firmenich, one of the world’s leading fragrance and flavour companies. Starting as a perfumer in São Paulo, Brazil, Schaller worked across various segments, including fine fragrance, body care and home care, honing his skills and developing his unique approach to creating perfumes. Over the following two decades, Schaller held roles in Paris, London and finally Princeton, New Jersey, working on projects for distinguished clients such as L’Oreal, Coty, Procter & Gamble, Rituals and Zara.
Schaller has been responsible for more than 350 fragrances throughout his career, working with prominent brands such as Le Labo, Max Mara, Paul Smith and Ferragamo. Some of his most popular creations include Oriflame Amber Elixir, Max Mara Le Parfum, Le Labo Oud 27 and Grès Cabotine Gold.
Schaller’s unique approach to creating perfumes is deeply rooted in his training in chemistry and engineering. His understanding of the technical aspects of perfumery enables him to create intricate and captivating fragrances that are long-lasting and comply with regulations. Schaller’s creations reflect his belief that perfumes are not just scents, but an expression of emotions and experiences.
He is inspired by various sources, including nature, art and travel. For example, Schaller’s work with HOC captures the essence and history of “his London”, demonstrating his ability to translate experiences and emotions into fragrances that resonate with consumers.
Throughout his career, Schaller has been recognised for his contributions to the world of perfumery. He has achieved numerous successes and strategic partnerships with influential industry clients, including Carrefour Int’l, Gries Deco, Cereria Molla and Gala Group. Schaller’s success is also evident in his work with niche brands such as Le Labo and Glossier and various influencers.
His collaborations with brands such as 4711, Baldessarini, Brooks Brothers and Tous have resulted in iconic fragrances that have left a lasting impact on the perfume industry.
