Rich, fruity and floral fragrance; the wood in the dry down is spectacular. Surprising longevity: over 12 hours, although the projection isn’t world-beating. If you like fruity scents, it’s one of the best I’ve smelled. Highly recommended. It’s quite feminine, although a man can wear it; currently I share it with my girlfriend. Rating: Scent 8/10, Longevity 10/10, Projection 8/10, Price 5/10 (expensive). Blind buy: yes. Overall 9/10.
I have Ángel Nova and they smell different. Both are fruity, floral, ambered scents, but Ángel Nova is simple: raspberry with woody rose, like a catchy pop song. Flamenco is the Ode to Joy by Beethoven, an integrated orchestra of fruits, florals and woods. Flamenco is for an elegant, sophisticated woman; Ángel Nova for a playful girl or mature woman. Although I liked Flamenco, its notes are synthetic and hit hard at the start: don’t overspray, and not on dry skin. My skin retains it for 9 hours and it smells clear. Conclusion: Spanish perfumers are beasts. Rosendo Mateu, Ramón Monegal, Carner… they last over 8 hours, are well integrated and unique. Olé!
Disappointed when I bought it: no longevity or projection whatsoever… but when I reapplied it, atomic bomb projection! Smells like Tutsi palette but super expensive. I love it.
Impulse buy at a convenient price. Starts super loud, strident, with an acidic raspberry that smells like acetone mixed with perfume. After ten minutes, the intensity drops and the green apple, jasmine and a fresh, earthy woody base of cedar and pine enter, blending brilliantly with the fruit. From the second hour onwards, it sweetens with amber and iris, softening the raspberry. A good scent for women; it still takes me a while to wear it, but it’s sparkling and lifts the mood. In the middle/final phase it’s more unisex, leaving the femininity behind. Very versatile (less so in winter), with great sillage and projection. Perfect with 4 sprays, lasts over 12 hours. It draws attention wherever you go. Unisex, leaning feminine at the start. For over 28s. Scent 7.5/10, Sillage 10/10, Projection 10/10, Longevity 9/10.
What a spectacle! I ordered a discovery set; Olé didn’t suit me, but Flamenco… love at first sniff. It conveys good energy and makes you smile. A youthful, sparkling raspberry stands out and lasts throughout the perfume. Longevity and sillage are 10. I ordered 100ml because it will be essential all year. Today, at 15:36, I put it on at 7:00 and it’s still there, bringing me smiles. I recommend it wholeheartedly. It’s feminine, but if you like raspberries, you’ll adore it.
I tried it recently; my friend and I loved it, but it smells very much like Ángel Nova, Very Good Girl and Tresor Midnight Rose. If you have any of those, you don’t need Flamenco. It has distinct nuances, but it reminds me too much of those best-sellers. I wouldn’t spend €200 when there are better and cheaper options. It smells superb, but it’s commercial, not niche.
Agree with the previous reviewer: if you have Very Good Girl or Ángel Nova, this is unnecessary. Delicious only if you’re seeking a niche fragrance.
I’d been wanting to try it for ages. In decant, at first, the raspberry and apple jump out; the florals don’t stand out, though there is a nice bouquet. The dry down is floral and herbal with woods, highlighting the cypress. Unlike Ángel Nova or Midnight Rose, Flamenco has its own light and a distinct personality. EDIT: The raspberry persists in the dry down. Sillage is low, longevity 5-6 hours, then it becomes very light.
Total disappointment. The hype was brutal, but it smells like a cheap knock-off of La Vie Est Belle, with only acidic fruit and generic florals. Overrated; there are better options from Arab houses or designers at a third of the price. What drives YouTubers to idolise it? Probably hidden agendas. It smells rich and feminine, but it’s not worth the price.
Pure joy! It lifts the mood and keeps it there. Although I’m not a fan of raspberries, here they are discreet and elegant, nothing too loud, blending perfectly with the apple and woody notes. Longevity and sillage are impeccable. Recommended purchase, a little gem in a red bottle.
A FRUITY/FLORAL perfume with a warm body, slightly powdery in moments; I see it as a more feminine than masculine perfume, but I would not have problems using it; it is pleasant but not very surprising in its opening (in my opinion). What I consider a genius touch is the construction of the base notes, which not only sustain and give body to the fragrance so they are not mere floral notes that dissipate in the air, but strategically enhance the olfactory floral/fruity endings, giving them more shine, prominence and longevity. Finally in the base: Wood (body), Cypress/Pine (highlight) and Amber (a slightly sweet closing that unifies the fragrance). If you like FRUITY/FLORAL/MUSKY fragrances, it is an option to consider, ideal for a female audience.
A monumental perfume. It has everything I expect from a perfume. A charming aroma of red fruits and roses mixed with oud wood. A presentation worthy of a luxury niche perfume. A high price but compensated by the quality and exceptional performance: over 12 hours on the skin with a moderate trail. It can be used on any occasion of the year but I think it has a special charm for nights out on a romantic date. I see it as unisex. Personally, I would have liked a bit more darkness in the perfume. For anyone starting in niche perfumery and liking the fruity/rose + oud combination, I see it as very recommended and not challenging. Something that can please everyone. 9/10.
I was surprised by this perfume but in a negative way. It smells exactly like hair dye.
An exquisite fruity floral, juicy, warm and powdery with moments; it is much more feminine than masculine but looks phenomenal on men. I put it on my husband and it is fascinating. It really resembles Angel Nova but, lacking musk and being more ambered, it makes it much more elegant and woody, allowing you to feel its other notes more clearly.
A fragrance where florals, spices and woody notes intertwine in a hypnotic way. It is a perfume that is not just worn but lived. I remember the first time I discovered Flamenco. It was an afternoon walking with the person I love most; we entered the perfumery, drawn by the aromas escaping from its doors. As we approached, the salesperson offered us to try Flamenco. The moment I applied the fragrance, I felt how its essence enveloped the surroundings; it was as if the air filled with music and movement. That shared experience was magical. I looked into my partner’s eyes and knew we had to take that perfume as a memento of that day. Every time I wear Flamenco, it is as if I relive that afternoon, filling me with energy and love. Undoubtedly, it is more than a perfume; it is a symbol of a special moment and a deep connection. I recommend Flamenco not only for its exquisite fragrance but for the story it can tell. It is ideal for those seeking an essence that reminds them of the passion and beauty of life, just like flamenco dance.
Flamenco is elegant the moment you spray it, but beware with the sprays because it is the most persistent fragrance I have ever tried. I wanted to take it off but could not easily. Thinking about it, the raspberry is sharp throughout the fragrance, and the composition itself is not youthful or fresh but rather for a mature, elegant lady who dresses well and wears makeup and perfume. I will try to give it another chance, but I do not think I will love it.
If you like Angel Nova EDP, you will like Flamenco by Monegal. If you already own Angel Nova EDP, there is no need to buy Flamenco. After nearly finishing my bottle of Angel Nova, I decided I wanted another perfume with raspberry as the star note, so I came across Flamenco. I took the precaution of buying a decant first, as there is no possibility to try this scent before purchasing… and to be honest, I am not going to acquire this version as they are practically identical. It is really difficult to perceive the differences between the two. You have to smell them side by side to notice that Angel Nova has a more acidic opening (due to the lychee) than Flamenco, even though the latter also has a slightly acidic opening from the green apple. Let’s try the extract version; perhaps the oud will give it the twist I am looking for.
It is a purple perfume of extremely high quality, super fruity and full of roses at the same time, so captivating and clean. Although I do not have it in my collection, someone I care about deeply does, and scents bring memories, evoke moments and people, which makes it even more special.
Raspberry/strawberry, iris, roses, patchouli and pine. One of my most spectacular perfumes. What about the cheap version? 9pm with more iris and more patchouli.
Flamenco by Ramón Monegal is an elegant and exquisite fragrance that joyfully blends a red fruity accord with roses and a touch of wood, creating a truly exquisite olfactory experience. This balance of notes imparts a freshness and vitality that are simply enchanting. It has an interesting degree of similarity to Angel Nova, reaching up to 60%. However, I see Flamenco as a more complex and refined version, which makes it stand out among fruity options on the market, especially in niche perfumery. As is usual with Monegal’s creations, the quality is excellent. It is a very interesting option to recommend to those who enjoy fruity aromas combined with the elegance of roses.
Monegal’s Flamenco has an excellent balance between fruity, floral, and woody accords; despite having rose, it moves elegantly yet remains flexible, unisex, and with good performance. You can feel the raspberry and green apple with a slight acidity and a sweetness that isn’t cloying. The base is clean and stays that way throughout the evolution. I like it very much, and knowing there is an extrait version, I think it’s worth trying and comparing to see which is better, although this is very balanced, ideal for someone looking for something different but easy to wear. Note: 8/10 Tested from the brand’s Discovery Set.
What a fragrance!
Delicious aroma and unisex if you want it to be. It projects, stays, and dries fresh, fruity, sweet, floral (roses?), and vanilla-ish. It’s not the most evolving fragrance in the world, but what it offers I adore. It smells of strawberries, raspberries, and peaches to me; I don’t detect any woody notes. The day after wearing it, if you spray another fragrance at two o’clock, you’ll still smell this one.
What a fragrance! It opens with a raspberry note, then the incredibly rich roses come through, leaving a very feminine trail. It projects and leaves a sillage like few others; I bought it for myself, but it has become my wife’s favourite, which I love. You can tell the ingredients are high quality, and for the price, I think you’re paying fair value. Highly recommended 1000/10.
Nothing to do with it; this fragrance truly repelled me. I tested it on my hand and took it off immediately; I didn’t like it a bit. It’s one of the worst I’ve ever heard. I thought it was my fault, but my partner begged me to throw it away, and I don’t understand why the community loves it so much 😪😔
Very fruity opening. Smells nice, but it didn’t blow me away, and I didn’t understand the hype. For me, Cotton Musk Monegal still wins. Now, when it dries down… oh dear friend! When it dries down, the real magic begins. What a dry down! Delicate florals, noble woods, and a touch of forest…
Rich fruity aroma, but nothing groundbreaking. I don’t know Angel Nova, but I do know its Arabic dupé, Mayar, and it smells EXACTLY like RM’s Flamenco, yet costs six times less and has the same or better longevity on skin.
I just read a comparison between Flamenco and Mayar… my goodness, Mayar doesn’t even come close. Flamenco is Angel Nova but better, sweeter, without lychee, and less overpowering. It’s a fragrance you never get tired of smelling.
I picked up a sample of Flamenco and was blown away by the quality: it starts with an acidic, explosive raspberry, followed by green apple, rose, and an iris that smells luxurious. It’s brilliant, lasts for ages, and has moderate projection, but it’s 100% feminine, elegant, and made for women over 30 who have already achieved something.
I’d buy this without a second thought. The first sniff confirmed it: a scent that moves away from the typical masculine vibe. It opens with an acidic strawberry that brings back childhood gum memories and dominates the entire fragrance. The woods and florals are there, but only as a backdrop, much like a bodyguard letting their star shine in the city: that strawberry. (I know it’s raspberry, but to me, it smells like strawberry). Plus, I like it far more than the extrait, where the oud overshadows everything else. -Scent: 8.5 -Longevity: 7 -Projection: 7 -Price: 190/ 100ml
Too hyped. It’s basically a flat raspberry, that’s true, but long-lasting. Yes, that’s a thousand times cooler: the Flamenco Extract. Designer alternatives that smell the same: Angel Nova or Yes I am.
Monegal’s Flamenco is that perfume that arrives at the party eager for the spotlight, dressed flamboyantly with the music loud from the moment it crosses the door. It doesn’t ask permission, it occupies the air. It has attitude, too much, but sometimes it’s too much. I and the rose are not compatible: it’s heavy, feminine, dominant, it enters before you and doesn’t ask if it bothers. It’s intense, fruity, in the style ‘if you’re going to smell me, you’re going to smell me well’. I don’t make a good pair with these scents; I notice it’s insistent, almost anxious. The bottle looks like a toy made of Lego and strawberry jam. It’s not ugly, but it doesn’t say luxury; it looks like it comes with instructions and stickers. The performance is beastly, it lasts as long as you want and more. It projects, persists, it follows you, what a nuisance! If you’re looking for something discreet, you won’t find it here. I don’t like it at all, I hate loud rose perfumes, a noisy and unrefined proposal, too feminine for me. I don’t know the link between Monegal and Flamenco; I think he confused raspberry with orange and rose with carnation, but try it and judge for yourself.
They gave me a decant and I was amazed, I decided to buy the 100 ml bottle, a pleasant surprise. It’s a more feminine scent, I wish someone knew how to layer it to make it more bearable.
What a beautiful perfume! It opens with eager raspberries, then turns powdery, earthy, with herbs and woods. I didn’t smell the rose, but the raspberry is head to toe. I bought a decant and am going for the full bottle. I’m not sure if it projects much; I didn’t receive compliments, but it lasts a long time. I applied it in the evening and the next day, waves of raspberry arrived like a pleasant breeze. As a woman, I’d combine it with a bit of vanilla because it lacked sweetness. It’s unisex, just like that. It’s a marvel!
A clone of Mugler’s Angel Nova, an overhyped perfume that’s not worth it. Don’t listen to the reviewers.
What a marvel! I need it urgently. I smelled it today and fell in love. It’s as rich as Angel Nova but a thousand times better, with an impressive longevity.
I got a decant out of curiosity. The opening was wonderful, raspberry jam with a citrus touch, potent. But as it developed, the woody notes dominated on my skin and I’m no longer convinced. I have Tresor Midnight Rose, which I love, and although they’re not identical, they’re very similar; I prefer it because it’s not so woody. For the price, Flamenco doesn’t pay off compared to Lancôme, which has nothing to envy.
It’s as if Badee Amethyst and Mayar, or Angel Nova, had a child… I like it, but it doesn’t kill me.
I agree 100 per cent: it’s a clone of Angel Nova, slightly more woody, but very similar. For the price, it doesn’t pay off; it’s nice, but nothing new, a total copy.
In my opinion, it’s more masculine than feminine; I don’t like it at all, it’s too strong. Most of my colleagues wear it or its dupe, and it’s unpleasant, no, the next thing is having to smell it all the time.
