Share what you noticed: opening, drydown, sillage and the moments when it works for you.
I was very intrigued by the notes, but I was let down. The oud and cypriol are completely buried in the background, barely noticeable, and the frankincense is very low. What I do like is that sweet red fruit part, like a jam, with a very subtle woody touch underneath. The scent is extremely soft; I expected something more impactful given the description.
Another iteration of that already overused combo. I don’t expect them to reinvent the wheel, but this proposal seems irrelevant to me. It’s just oud, cypriol, rose, and softened with red fruits. That’s it. What could it possibly have more of? Even softened like this, I don’t think it’s a good call. Perhaps they could have given it a different or riskier twist, but no. It stayed exactly as is, to no one’s surprise. It performs well, versatile… well, I’m tired of talking about this perfume. Hehe. Moving on.
Nothing ‘Favonius’, I mean, nothing ‘favourable’ 🤕. That description of the fruitful wind is just a sales tactic. A farce in my opinion. It’s a pity the perfumer didn’t put the same energy into creating something good. ‘Exclusives’ are often a pretext to inflate prices and make money by selling false exclusivity. Favonius suffers from this. For $395 you get a perfume ‘exclusive’ that opens with a very sweet jammy rose (it can be cloying), with a hint of red fruits and pepper. The sweetness fades a bit and it becomes more wearable. The geranium accompanies the rose, while the patchouli, cypriol and oud sit in the background. The oud is detectable but harmless. It reminds me of something Montale would make: a sweet, synthetic, low-quality rose. If it had half the sweetness I could use it, but I find it mediocre. It feels made without care and rushed. High projection, good longevity. Versatility is limited by how sweet and potent it is. Unisex with a feminine leaning. No thanks.
