Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Femme by Gucci is a fruity-chipre fragrance for women. Launched in 2018, the nose behind this composition is Alberto Morillas. Today I tested the new creation by Alberto Morillas for Gucci, Gucci Guilty Absolute pour Femme, to the full extent. The truth is, it fulfils everything I expected from that fragrance, as I love its male counterpart, that one inspired by the Gucci workshop with an intense leather scent. On the feminine side, it feels much fruitier, a blackberry juice with herbaceous bergamot juice and cypress, with Indian patchouli standing out, extremely intense and very persistent. It transports you for an instant to lands far from the Middle East, and it slightly releases an earthy, penetrating, and sensual aroma. I recommend it widely.

Smells great, honestly. Good longevity and sillage… at first, it seemed very fruity and that stopped me from buying it. But what a wonderful fragrance, needless to say! Rating 9. A few weeks later I must clarify that it was a gift. I wouldn’t have bought it myself because of how fruity it seemed at the start. But nooooo, what a rich thing!!!! I debuted it today and it showed nothing fruity at all; quite the opposite, absolutely delicious!!!! I give it a 10, excellent longevity and a rich sillage.

A sample gifted to me at El Corte Inglés is my fragrance of the day. What can I say? I love it! It follows the trend of red fruits or synthetic forest but is very well harmonised with patchouli (the note that stands out most on my skin) and a modern, fresh rose. The patchouli is earthy, damp, with morning dew. It brings together classic notes, but the blackberry and pink pepper nuance gives it a very current character. The rose is rich, slightly sweet, and creamy. I see it as unisex; a man could wear it perfectly if he is extroverted and optimistic. Suitable for day and night. The performance is very good and it suits someone with a semi-formal, elegant style (the patchouli and rose give it a lot of personality). Good work by Morillas and a hit by Gucci. A creamy perfume with elegant and modern nuances.

  • I really like it; it has the Guilty Absolute seal of its male counterpart. In the opening, I barely smell anything else but blackberry (it reminds me of my teenage love traumas with Yves Rocher’s Blackberry). It doesn’t smell like candy; it’s a liqueur-like blackberry reminiscent of non-alcoholic spirits, but in this blend it quickly makes clear that it’s something special. The blackberry slowly deflates and the patchouli gains much more weight with the ‘balsamic’ hint of cypress, and then it seems to me the perfect female counterpart to its brother, with that strange rose and the touch of blackberry replacing the leather in that delicious woody blend. I feel I would like it more if its bottle were garnet and carried more rose and less blackberry. Refined, but a bit wild and rough. It makes me think of a girl who likes to go hunting or practice hang gliding. If the Guilty Absolutes were a couple, they’d be throwing things at each other’s heads and cheating on each other all day. I prefer to see them as twin brothers. They are very close, a bit rebellious, and cover for each other. I think they needed another name and another type of communication.

The previous reviews made me want to try it again, but honestly, it felt synthetic to me, like hairspray—probably Aquanet. So far, no Gucci perfume has ever been to my taste.

The previous reviews are very appealing and even make me want to give it another chance. But the truth is that I felt a very synthetic blackberry scent, it smelled like hairspray to me, I think it was Aquanet. So far, there has not been a single Gucci perfume that I have liked.

  • Gucci Guilty Absolut pour Femme Intenso: beautiful, sweet, fresh, spicy, and woody, all in one composition. An exotic touch in the dry-down that is impressive, a perfume that puts me in a very happy mood. Spicy berries, fruits, cypress woods, a talc-like patchouli, rich concentrated blackberries, and amber as a base. For me, it is a party perfume for special events; it has class and is sophisticated, radiating confidence. In fact, I wore it a lot at the end-of-year celebrations and it reminds me of that atmosphere. The trail is moderate and the longevity is 7 hours on me. Another advantage is that it is good for any weather. There is something ‘green’ and ‘crisp’ in the later stages and in some ways it smells more natural in the dry-down. The composition is very interesting. I am very impressed and love having it in my collection; it will be a classic that many will seek in the coming years. I am so happy to own it now! Gucci Guilty Absolute pour Femme has arrived to make a statement. Thank you, Alberto Morillas, standing ovation!

Spicy berries, fruits, cypress, a musky patchouli, concentrated blackberries, and amber. It’s my go-to for special parties; classy, sophisticated, and it radiates confidence. I wore it a lot at Christmas and it brings that atmosphere back. The trail is moderate and lasts 7 hours on me. The good thing is it suits any weather. There’s something ‘green’ and ‘crisp’ at the end that makes it feel more natural. The composition is very interesting. I love having it; it will be a classic that everyone will seek out later. I was absolutely blown away! What a pity the bottle is so simple for such a beautiful perfume.

  • I tried it again in a freeshop after months. Fruity rose opening with juicy notes. As it dries, the rose becomes more velvety and slightly powdery. It’s clearly a Bulgarian rose. The patchouli gives it a darker finish. I don’t particularly perceive the cypress… At times it reminds me of Natura’s Esta Flor Rosa; the Gucci one is more acidic and fluctuating: soft some days and unbearably grating others. It’s a lovely perfume, darker than Natura’s, especially in its dry-down. I agree with La Dame de Noir regarding a mentholated nuance and something bittersweet. But I wouldn’t describe it as green… I don’t know the rose de tous…

  • I’m surprised they don’t talk much about the similarities with its male counterpart. For me, it has that leathery woody accord with motor oil reminiscences that I don’t like much. Above that, it has the fruity rose accord with a bit of patchouli. It has very nice sparkles that remind me of other perfumes I can’t quite identify. It may have fans, provided the motor oil accord is to your liking. The performance doesn’t seem very high, but I usually have problems smelling this type of aroma.

Have you ever smelled women of elegance, in important positions, standing out from the crowd? Well, this perfume smells like that. This smells like money, gentlemen, it smells important… I absolutely love it and it has to be mine. This and Gucci Guilty Pour Femme smell like there’s money here, hahaha.

Are you looking for that scent of elegant women, holding important positions and standing out from the crowd? Well, this perfume smells exactly like that. • Wow…!! I really liked this perfume. It’s been ages since I smelled something different from the current sweet gourmand trend. Patchouli and blackberries. It enchanted me immediately. I encourage you to try it; it’s different from the current perfumery fashion. Impressive.

  • Yesterday I tried this Gucci proposal with high hopes. I was sceptical… and it happens again with rose, blackberry, raspberry and patchouli perfumes: for the first few hours they smell like a fruity air freshener, cloying and they tickle the nose. It’s a pity, I wanted to like it, but I can’t bear the first 2-3 hours. Then it softens and becomes more pleasant with a more evident rose. What a shame; I’ve already forgotten about Galliano’s Parlez-moi d’amour in the wardrobe, which, though not identical, gives me the same air-freshener sensation. The Galliano one from Lidl and this Gucci, of higher quality, those posh things you buy at Zara for 20 euros, but as a perfume, for me, no.

  • It seems incredibly similar to Victorio & Lucchino’s Hechizo. This one perhaps has a more intense patchouli, but upon trying it, the berry/rose/patchouli/wood combination seemed a blatant clone… Even the bottle colour seems inspired by Hechizo. It’s a dense, feminine and sexy fragrance, comfortable for winter or outdoors, but can be intrusive in heat or indoors. If you like Guilty Absolute, try Hechizo: for a third of the price you’ll get the same performance.

  • Yesterday I tried this Gucci proposal with great enthusiasm. I was sceptical… and once again I experienced what I usually have with perfumes combining rose, blackberries, raspberries, and patchouli: in the first hours they smell like fruity room freshener, cloying, and even they tickle my nose. It’s a pity; I wanted to like it, but I simply cannot stand those first two or three hours. Then it softens and becomes more pleasant with a more evident rose. A shame, but I have already forgotten about Galliano’s Parlez-moi d’amour in a cupboard; not being the same, it gives me the same room freshener sensation. The Galliano one from Lidl and this Gucci, of better quality, of those posh ones you buy at Zara for 20 euros, but as a perfume, to me, it just doesn’t work.

  • I went to a new shop in the area and they showed me this perfume. I loved its clean wood and cypress scent; it enhanced beautifully on my skin and I was fascinated. I showed it to my dad and he said it smelled like a sawmill; my mum and aunt thought it smelled like firewood. Disappointing, I hoped they’d say it was elegant and ostentatious.

  • On my skin it lasted almost two days; it has good longevity and sillage. It smells lovely, fruity with a touch of rose; highly recommended.

  • I need two opinions on this. I bought it blind because the notes sold me: I imagined it green, with blackberries (which I adore) and lots of wood. That’s exactly what it was: a burst of blackberry lasting two minutes, then a sigh of cypress, followed by a trail of wood three sighs later. My skin repelled it; it didn’t hold it. It’s a disaster with no longevity or sillage, which is infuriating as it lasts hours on others. But on my husband, who wears unisex niche scents, it’s perfect: eight hours with blackberry and cypress intact, moderate and perceptible sillage. It’s all down to the skin…

  • What really grabs me is the blackberry, rose and patchouli. What I absolutely love is the scent once it settles: fruity and woody, ideal for someone who doesn’t want to be the centre of attention; it’s not very potent.

  • What a perfume. It was a blind purchase, thanks to its reviews, but I must confess it wasn’t love at first sniff. I gave it another chance on my skin because my husband had already claimed it, but I knew I would like it once I got the cliché of so many sweet and similar perfumes out of my head regarding their impact. This fragrance surprised me, like when the rain surprises you and you decide to walk under it and enjoy that moment. It was novel, special, and I was prepared to feel UNIQUE. It makes me feel powerful, elegant, and fresh.

Simply the best perfume in my collection. It lasts for hours! It smells of sophistication and is the one that earns me the most compliments. It is an exquisite combination of fruits and woods, at least on my skin. Far and away, one of the best.

  • A reminiscence of perfume from another culture: red fruits mixed with vapours of burnt woods in dark corners. It reminds me of Turkish shops in Istanbul, amidst carpets and bronze vessels. The roses appear and disappear, while the blend of patchouli and amber becomes dense and voluptuous. It is a murky, intense fragrance, somewhat masculine. After three hours, it feels calmer, ancient, no longer youthful. It seems to emerge from damp hiding places, waiting for a spell with a potion of black raspberry and pink pepper, nothing subtle, over a fringed tapestry.

  • Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Femme is a fruity, woody fragrance of the chypre style. It opens with fruity notes and slightly dark woods that soften within five minutes, giving way to an aromatic and floral phase where the rose feels attractive and romantic. In the dry down, there’s a hint of patchouli, but it remains floral and fruity. It is elegant and slightly formal, yet versatile for any occasion where you wish to stand out, suitable for all seasons except very hot days. It lasts between 8 and 9 hours with regular projection for the first two. I tried it because I read it could be worn by men; although I loved it, I think my wife would enjoy wearing it more than I would. In my opinion, it is unisex leaning towards feminine. At certain stages, it reminded me of La Panthere de Cartier.

In its dry-down, there is a hint of patchouli, yet it retains that floral and fruity air. It is elegant and slightly formal, though versatile enough to stand out at any time, except on very hot days. • Rich, yet not quite as special as I had hoped. Based on the notes, I expected a more original scent. On my skin, it suffers from the same issue as everything else in the house: it doesn’t last long. I wouldn’t buy it again; I’d rather repeat the Bloom, which smells distinctly floral and feels truly special.

  • Perla Vencis

If you like scents where blackberry takes centre stage, this could be for you. It starts with a wild fruit with citrus notes, which then overpowers the herbal scent of cypress. On the skin, it leaves a herbal and woody rose. On my skin, it resembles Amethyst by Lalique, so it’s not something new, but very similar to that. I consider it suitable for both ladies and gentlemen. I’d dare to say it’s the first fragrance by Alberto Morillas that I haven’t liked. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly.

  • AliciaVersan

A mysterious and formal fragrance that makes me feel as if I’m in a church in Rome before taking a stroll through the city. Whenever I wear it, I feel elegant and original.

  • Mr. Baskerville

Excellent choice. I already know Gucci quite well. Their advertising isn’t what it used to be, but with fragrances they sometimes take risks, and I like that. I’ve enjoyed this Gucci Guilty Absolute for its original treatment of the rose: dark, yet not solemn, and free from unnecessary lights and ornaments. The blackberry treatment is good; it opens fruity without smelling like jam, with a sweet-and-sour note that’s a hit for the opening: the rose settles on woods and an evident patchouli. It’s elegant without going over the top, suits a relaxed style better than formal wear, and is versatile provided it doesn’t veer into office-girl fashion. Longevity and projection are good, though at a Gucci price point. A option worth considering.

  • Gatitomalbado

What a beauty! I’ve wanted this perfume for nearly two years and couldn’t find it in my city. A friend who travelled gave it to me, knowing how much I desired it. It’s a rose with juicy, dark, sweet blackberries, far from those overly sugared fruits of the past. Then come green, crisp, mentholated notes from cypress and pink pepper, like a dreamy autumnal forest. Everything rests on a strong patchouli that rounds it off perfectly. It transports me to Turkey—not a city, but a cosy little cottage in the woods, luxurious yet simple. It’s an autumnal rose full of nuances. Lasts about eight hours with a subtle trail. Utterly elegant, formal and understated, nothing loud. Plus, the bottle design is spot on.

  • Soft rose, a sharp fruity twist, and heavy patchouli. For me, this Gucci Guilty Absolute is the go-to choice to look elegant. It feels distinctly winter and evening.
