Amethyst by Lalique

I bought it after wanting it for a long time; it smells like red fruit shampoo, doesn’t evolve much, and has a very marked green note. I like it and it lasts quite a while, but it’s not for everyday wear as it can be overpowering.

I bought this perfume in autumn and winter and it didn’t convince me… but now that it’s hot, it smells like a clean, fresh soap. I love it; I feel clean despite the heat. Ahhh, definitely every perfume has its season.

I was looking for complex blackberries, nothing like those artificial sorbets in single-dose packets. I loved the discontinued Yves Rocher for that acidic and fresh touch, not cloying. I bought Amethyst Lalique blind, and although it doesn’t smell like blackberries as I expected, it’s a pleasant surprise: notes of currants, flowers, and clean moss. If you’re tired of smelling like everyone else, it’s a great option.

I saw it on a YouTube video and liked the research I did afterwards. I don’t like smelling like the crowd. I bought it blind and loved it so much I already have a second bottle. It smells of a temperate forest with mist, pines, and wild blackberries with dew; it’s dark, mysterious, and elegant, almost gothic. It’s acidic, not sweet, as if they were forest fairies. It lacks projection and longevity, seeming more like a body mist.

I love it, along with Pearls they are essential in my vanity. This perfume lasts for months on clothes, even after washing. On my skin it has incredible longevity; it’s wonderful.

Definitely worth trying before buying. I smell red berries and a soft base like a fruity shampoo, but my mum and brother detect an intense note of pepper and woods. It varies greatly depending on the nose 😅.

It’s acidic; personally, I hate it. At least it’s less acidic than Zara’s Fashionably London. It’s a difficult scent, not recommended as a gift. At first it smells of peppermint, then the acidity lingers for an hour before it becomes a skin scent. I bought it for €19 for 100ml, but if I’d paid the regular price, I’d have been very annoyed. If you have cats, don’t recommend it because they won’t stop sneezing when they approach; they find it addictive. I was very disappointed by the good reviews. Edit: after three weeks of use, it has changed a bit; now it lasts longer, has more sillage, smells less acidic, and floral notes like pink rose are noticeable. The opening remains peppermint with fruit. I like it more now.

I really wanted to own it, but it didn’t turn out as expected. The top notes reminded me of something strange, like a fresh spot in the Black Forest, but it passed quickly, leaving a cheap, penetrating perfume smell that lasted hours, before giving way to a caramel scent. I didn’t detect the musk, woods, or bourbon vanilla, nor the red berries. Just a sweet, penetrating smell that won’t go away even with bleach. It’s not bad quality, but it’s only for those who like very penetrating and flat perfumes. My honest advice: try it on first, don’t buy it blind.

It has a very natural blackberry opening with a touch of greenery that lasts a few moments, then moves to a soft pepper and a flower which, on my nose, is a delicate rose. The longevity and sillage are moderate, but they develop better on summer evenings. I like the scent a lot and it’s in my top 10.

Something very strange happened with this perfume. It was a blind purchase because I couldn’t find a perfumer carrying it. Upon arrival, I couldn’t bear the aroma, like those violet sweets my grandmother always carried in her bag and which I hated! The smell was exactly the same. I put the perfume in a wardrobe and forgot about it. Today I thought maybe it would be a good idea to sell or swap it. So after taking some photos, I decided to take the risk and spray it on my wrist, although I then had to run to wash it off. I don’t understand what happened. The perfume has mutated! Now it’s a wonderful bathroom soap scent, I perceive a slightly woody rose accompanied by nuts. A marvel. I can’t stop smelling it.

An exquisite fruity scent, not cloying, with a fresh touch. All the berries (except strawberry) are noticeable from the start, followed a few minutes later by a very elegant and feminine rose and ylang-ylang. I detect no peony, vanilla, or woods, only a very wearable musk. Projection is moderate to high for 3–4 hours depending on sprays, and longevity exceeds 8 hours, which is very good for its price.

I bought it as a substitute for Marly’s Meliora because it is no longer available here, and I must say it is 98% identical. The opening is super citrusy and sharp, which startled me a little, but once dried, it becomes wonderfully delicious, just like Meliora, exquisite. I loved it. It lasts about 5 hours (Meliora lasted me 8 to 10), with moderate to low trail; it is not intrusive, so it is perfect for the office and enclosed spaces, it won’t bother anyone. It is a super good alternative in price and quality, and will definitely always be in my collection.

Perfect for heat; it sparkles and refreshes; the vanilla does not sweeten but softens the acidity of the red fruits.

The ylang-ylang and rose add elegance to prevent it from being too fruity. The vanilla sweetens discreetly. It conveys cleanliness, it is dry, fresh, and suitable for any day. It is not very intense nor does it leave a huge trail, but that is its charm: it seems to come from the skin. It is different from what I usually wear and has surprised me.

It truly captures the feminine floral-fruit family: fresh blackberries with leaves, neither too acidic nor artificially sweet, with notes of gooseberries and raspberries, plus floral touches of rose and peonies that make it super feminine. A deep scent, balanced by freshness and cleanliness; I don’t detect vanilla, woods, or pepper, but they are pleasant companions. It has moderate sillage and longevity, and given the price, I reapply it without hesitation. It’s versatile, the bottle is beautiful, and it fits the name ‘purple’ or ‘amethyst’ perfectly. The more I use it, the more I like it; a blind buy that was spot on.
