Amethyst Eclat by Lalique

Bought it blind and it has nothing to do with the original Amethyst, which smells super natural and elegant. I was terribly surprised. This Amethyst Éclat is neither elegant, formal, nor discreet. It gave me a headache and I had to have a shower to get rid of it. It smells like a hyper-concentrated mix of several perfumes from the late 90s and early 2000s.

A sweeter Amethyst without that soapy aspect. It left me indifferent in winter, but in spring with more heat, it seemed much nicer. Thanks for the tip @MarinaEtoile! The red fruits and the musky base stand out more. I also notice a powdery floral touch reminiscent of violets or lilacs. I find similarities with YSL’s Parisienne family. It could be a good alternative for those who dislike the vinyl note, as it’s not present here. It has moderate sillage and lasts 5-6 hours on my skin. It’s pleasant above 20 degrees, but it lacks the magic of the other perfumes it resembles. Scent 6.5/10, Longevity 5.5/10, Sillage 6.5/10, Value for money 6/10, Versatility 4/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy again? No.

Lasts very little on my skin or on clothes, which is a pity because the scent is delicious.

Blind buy. I adore Lalique Amethyst and Nathalie Lorson is one of my favourite perfumers, so I thought I would love it. But what a surprise when I first smelled it… it reminded me of something familiar I already owned: nothing less than the discontinued limited edition perfume ‘Chris 1947’. A Dior created 20 years ago to commemorate the house, along with the also discontinued ‘Lilly Dior’. They disappeared from perfumeries at the speed of light and were simply beautiful. This Eau de Parfum Amethyst Éclat reminds me of the first one a great deal. They are not identical, but very similar, especially at the opening. The most surprising thing is that they do not share notes. I am very pleased with the purchase. It is fruity and floral, very sweet but not overpowering, with an interesting powdery touch that adds elegance while also feeling youthful and sparkling.

It has a red fruit opening where the blackcurrant stands out first, followed by the raspberry; this part also carries a floral note similar to lilacs. After about twenty minutes, more flowers appear, especially the peony, and it stays fresh and delicate. It’s lovely, but it feels diluted (though the scent isn’t soft). Perhaps for busy days where you don’t want to wear something heavy but also not something super soft or citrusy. Longevity 2-4 hours, moderate to low sillage.

I love it! I bought it blind based on the reviews here since I saw it was similar to Tresor Midnight by Lancôme… and it’s true, they are super similar. The Tresor one might be a bit stronger and longer-lasting, but I really love it. A total discovery!

I cannot believe I’m the first to describe this beautiful fragrance… EXQUISITE, DRUNKEN, SUBTLE AND SOPHISTICATED! I found it by chance: I wanted the traditional Lalique recommended to me, but my supplier only had this, so I bought it without testing. OOOHHH SURPRISE! It is very delicate and feminine, with nothing superfluous or artificial. You can taste the fruits in their pure state, delicious blackcurrants and raspberries mixed with wild flowers; it reminds me of summer forests in Patagonia. It is fresh and warm at the same time, with something special that makes it very feminine. It is not just any citrus or fruity cologne, it is a perfume in every sense of the word. I found nothing similar; I am sure it is the musk that gives it that warmth. I recommend it for all seasons. Its trail and longevity are moderate; I would prefer it to last longer and have more projection, as it is almost weak on my skin. But since I love it, I reapply it as many times as I need. If anyone knows of a similar fragrance with greater longevity, please recommend it to me. Thank you.
