Monegal, like all great artists, plays with scents to produce varied results. Alhambra Oud is a masterpiece, worth every euro. Upon spraying, it delivers a slap of dirty apple – wonderful, energising and refreshing. Suddenly, panic sets in because after just 20 seconds, a deep oud threatens to turn faecal and cling to you for hours… but masterfully, the fragrance balances itself out. Within five minutes, you have the elegance of an oud that wishes to be dirty yet shines. It aims to be rough but captivates. Like Nirvana, who wanted to break the rules and be misunderstood, creating grunge anthems, Alhambra Oud flirts with being impossible and becomes a usable, versatile masterpiece.

It is a full-bodied oud fragrance, yet here Monegal shows his mastery, much like Chris Maurice sometimes does, by integrating the oud into the olfactory pyramid. A fleeting apple opening, followed by advancing florals and a woody dry-down; the journey is mostly rapid, never hiding that oud from you. Between elegance and a hint of the animalistic, what we notice without being experts is that it is well-made; the nose detects this, as we find something elegant within the woods, a fascination for anyone who enjoys that vibe. Give it a try, recommended for beginner oud explorers and advanced enthusiasts alike. A good perfume. Best wishes. *It is not Promise by F. Malle, unless by coincidence of the apple note; nor is it Oud Aquilaria. Perhaps they are from the same family, but they are not clones.

It is a fragrance that generates many sensations and is addictive. It does not matter if the projection is not bestial, as on the skin it lasts over 10 hours and results in a sincere enjoyment for both the wearer and those who catch a whiff. The OUD here is very well crafted, hitting the right spot; it complements the other notes admirably. For me, it is usable from a highly important social ceremony to simply getting up and wanting to project that aura of feeling it can give. It is a fact that a perfume can complement and extend what you already project as a person on the olfactory channel, and furthermore, that it is a pleasure for yourself; therefore, the price is irrelevant if you have the means. Remember, no perfume should be bought blindly.

Blessed glory. It is my favourite perfume. I fell for it at first sniff and had to acquire it. It is spiced, woody, clean and yet dirty. Floral, luminous and yet dark. Contradictory, just like herself. It has the right amount of challenging oud that I can tolerate with immense enjoyment. It lasts A LONG TIME, but I like it so much I would spray it 35 times if each one didn’t cost four euros that disappear. It usually does not please the people in my circle, but let them be. They do not know, but they are smelling one of the best perfumes ever made, in my opinion. Moreover, it is about how it makes you feel: like a Caliph with a palace on the outskirts of Medina in the time of Abderramán II. Nothing I could say would be up to how this smells to me.

Blessed glory! It’s my favourite perfume. I fell for it at first sniff and had to own it. It’s spicy, woody, clean yet dirty; floral, luminous and dark. Contradictory just like herself. It has the right amount of challenging oud that I enjoy to the max. It lasts massively, so much so that I’d atomise 35 sprays if they didn’t cost four euros each. My surroundings usually don’t like it, but let them be, they’re smelling one of the best perfumes that exist. Besides, it makes you feel like a caliph with a palace on the outskirts of Medina during the time of Abderraman II. Nothing they say will reach how this smells to me.

Alhambra Oud is an outstanding Oud fragrance that combines touches of white flowers like jasmine and orange blossom, a soft hint of apple and the elegance of the rose note. Together, these notes form an addictive work that captivates and enchants from the very first moment. The Oud, the most popular note now, unfolds in this fragrance in an opulent and intense manner. It is not one of those Ouds that aim to be friendly and wearable; from the very first moment, we perceive its seriousness and strength. The notes that complement it help to make this Oud a true enveloping beauty in every sense, providing a velvety and sensual sensation that few works manage to achieve. With excellent performance in both longevity and projection, it is a fragrance I strongly recommend for lovers of Oud and fine niche perfumery. Ramón Monegal always creates wonders, and Alhambra Oud is no exception.

It reminds me so much of Promise by Frederic Malle, especially in the opening… apple and more apple. After a while, the oud starts to be felt. If I had to choose, I would pick this over Promise. It has many more facets. Promise, for me, is apple from start to finish and little more.

Honestly, does this scent not remind anyone of “Promise” by Fréderic Malle? I have not seen any comments regarding this in reviews from various channels. I do not know if it is my skin or my untrained nose; for me, they are quite similar.

Very rich, strong and long-lasting. Hard to get used to if you have never smelled an oud before. It ends up pleasing. It feels good, accompanies well. High price. Yes, oud is expensive.

It is the best Oud perfume in the world. Period. It is the only one in the line to have a dose of Oud from a batch Ramón acquired in Asia through Christian Carbonell, and once it runs out, this perfume will disappear forever or be reformulated. He said so in an interview. Incredible perfume. Top 3 of all time.

When I started with niche, oud sounded like something strange to me… until I tried this. It made me an addict immediately. A pure olfactory masterpiece.

Rarely have I fallen in love at first sight like I did with this. I was looking for an oud protagonist, neither disguised nor so complex it scares people off. This fits perfectly in between: a potent opening with oud and green apple, without being overpowering. It has a challenging touch yet is easy to digest if you know the note. The tart apple accompanies the oud harmonically, followed by subtle florals that bring it to life. Not for blind buys or those under 25. I wear it to enjoy without special occasion, better outdoors than in the office or enclosed spaces. It’s versatile: prefers cold, but with moderation it holds up in heat. Best-in-class performance: 3 sprays are enough, projects to two metres and lasts over 12 hours on skin and days on clothes. Be careful when reapplying; it recovers power instantly. Undoubtedly a niche classic that doesn’t ask for compliments but demands respect.

Brutal fragrance, with character and packaging that never stops surprising. The whole ‘Don’t Touch My Oud’ collection deserves more fame for the quality of its oud. This is woody and smoky throughout. It opens with an apple that softens the initial oud explosion, then the flowers (orange blossom, rose, jasmine) emerge; they don’t stand out individually but balance everything, adding freshness and powdery notes. Afterwards, the oud turns smoky with birch, and finally an ambroxan pushes the trail to prolong it. It lasts and projects massively. The charm lies in the trail that bewitches you little by little. Perfect unisex, though as it dries down it leans more towards the masculine side.

Absolute masterpiece. It’s expensive, but worth every euro. 10/10, a must-have.
