I walked into Julia Perfumerias determined to find a great perfume, sweet and creamy; I didn’t mind the price, I just wanted something to mark the new year, 2024, and my imminent move. After trying one with a saffron base from the same brand and one of Juliette Has a Gun, Lipstick Fever… mmm, I don’t know, I don’t know… this one appeared, offered by the sales assistant. My goodness, my goodness, I heard it and I was ecstatic: this is it! Just right! This is the one! I had no doubt, exactly what I was looking for. It arrived at my nose and my limbic system presenting itself as those Dracula poles, vanilla, raspberry, summers of the 80s and 90s… I was moved, what a wonder! So beautiful, so delicate, so feminine… so original. It’s not floral, not a cloying vanilla gourmand type, it’s freshness. I got home, put it on my décolletage under my wool jumper, and she hugged me and made me smile. My goodness, she’s gorgeous. I wanted to mark the new adventure with a new scent and I succeeded, welcome home Ani. I love you. Edit: I’ve been wearing it for two hours and it’s surprising me a lot, it smells a treat. Tomorrow when I wake up I’ll see if it still lasts, hehe.
Well, only when wearing it, it’s a vanilla with ginger and some citrus that predominates. The quality and the blend of notes are very good, but I find it doesn’t stand out. For daily wear on fresh days or a date, it could work, but spending $350 on a perfume for dates isn’t a luxury I can afford right now. I was expecting a bit more.
Bought a decant on offer. Sroma is fascinating, but lacks longevity and projection. It only lingers close to the skin. Paying that much for something so weak isn’t an option. Perhaps I was sold a fake decant; I’m not sure. Rich and unique scent, but poor performance.
Creamy and powdery vanilla with a light hint of orange, though vanilla dominates. You can tell the ingredients are of good quality. Definitely unisex. Good longevity and projection, at least on my skin.
I tested this fragrance on my arm upon arrival and found nothing special; it seemed too soft and weak, confirming what several other reviews said about it not being outstanding. However, I only used it to go out and it was totally different: the citrus and ginger opening is potent, and as it dries down, it settles into vanilla with woody notes and a faint citrus touch. I had stopped noticing it myself but received many compliments. The shirt retained the scent for several days. I suppose it doesn’t project strongly, yet people can still detect it from a few metres away. It reminded me a bit of the vibe of Allure Homme Blanche, with that lemon pie note but super refined. I consider it totally unisex.
Batch 2022: a masterpiece loved by 99% of people. A quality citrus with powdery vanilla, very elegant. Longevity and projection are average, around 5 or 6 hours. The liquid is oily and noticeable on the skin, but by evening it smells almost nothing and you have to press your nose right against it. Verdict: not worth the price; Lattafa Nasheet smells exactly the same. I own both and they last the same, only Ani costs ten times more. If you want to enjoy an incredible scent and have the money, go for it.
An expensive perfume that starts out like a tiger and turns into a kitten. Rich aroma, but it doesn’t last nearly long enough, only about two or three hours.
I think I judged Wulong Cha and the ANI fragrance too harshly. I gifted them to others, and when they wear them, they smell incredible, fill the room, and last a long time. They are of a different quality, far superior.
A sweet and spiced vanilla perfume with ginger and cardamomo that has earned me many compliments; it never goes unnoticed. Although I don’t know how the new batches are performing, mine is potent, projects well, and lasts over 10 hours on the skin without needing constant reapplication; all the magic lies in the trail. Simply wonderful.
If Gucci Envy were a Pokémon, The One Gentleman would be its first evolution and Ani by Nishane its second.
I always hesitated to buy this fragrance because of so many votes indicating it was feminine, but a nearly 50% discount at Notino made me fall for the temptation. A perfume of exquisite quality, with a ‘made in Nishane’ longevity. The truth is, it’s the most unisex perfume I have, but perfectly wearable. If you prefer something with a more masculine plus, I recommend Imperium Elixir, another jewel. Edit: After the first day of use, I changed the longevity to ‘moderate’. I let myself be carried away by the Hacivat bomb, but come on, at most 5 or 6 hours.
I’m in love with Cécile… everything she touches I like. And ANI was love at first sight. Those aromas where, the moment a molecule touches your pituitary, you hear Gregorian chants. For me, it’s perfect both in scent and performance. I’m reading that the latest batches have longevity problems… Well, I can’t say it’s not true. Next month I’ll buy a new bottle because I’m finishing what I have and I’ll be able to judge for myself. But what I can say is that the one I have now is working wonderfully. Without being an exaggerated skin longevity, about 6 hours hold up perfectly with a measured but effective projection. It doesn’t flood any room, but in a close conversation, you notice it. That sparkling, citrus opening that gives you goosebumps on the nose from the red pepper, bergamot, and ginger; a spicy and oriental transition thanks to the cardamom that takes you soaring into a fascinating sweetness of the best quality vanilla, where benzoin immerses you and finishes off with the creaminess of sandalwood, ambergris, and cedar. THIS IS WASTE NOT! It makes the sceptic believe. In summary: Age 20+, Unisex 100%. Any weather, although I prefer it in fresh. Scent: 10/10. Longevity: 7.5/10. Duration: 6-7 h. Projection: 8.5/10. Versatility: 9/10. $$$$ Final Score: 8.6/10. UPDATE: my worst fears were confirmed. I just bought a new bottle and, much to my regret, I can affirm that the new batches of ANI are not what they used to be. It has lost strength, that’s true, but the longevity is still good and the projection, although intimate, is present. It’s true that for a perfume costing 345 euros and with Nishane’s reputation, you expect an unstoppable beast, a Bengal tiger… but what you receive is, at most, an Iberian lynx. Disappointing. Despite everything, it remains in my Top 5, because the essence remains. Scent: 10/10. Longevity: 6/10. Duration: 5-6 h. Projection: 6/10. Versatility: 9/10. $$$$ 3.45 €/ml. Final Score: 8/10.
I smelled it first in the bottle and thought it was delicious. When I applied it to my skin… oh, disappointment. It comes out like an insect repellent with lots of citronella; I don’t know why I perceive that note. In the dry-down it improves but I don’t like the aroma at all; for me, it’s a strange mixture. It wasn’t for me.
I have a 5 ml decant of ANI Nishane, so perhaps I can’t judge it completely, but I’m sure that after half an hour with two sprays on each forearm, I felt a very recognisable smell (90% similar) to Halloween Man X. That sweetness while drying down to skin-level is the same… I checked the notes, and the only thing they coincide on according to the website is cardamom and bergamot, which makes the similarity in the dry-down strange. What I am sure of is that whether it’s the vanilla of ANI or the tonka bean of Halloween Man X, they are heading down the same path to sweetness.
Let’s start by saying I tried it from a tester in a perfume shop that surely had been out for a while, so I can’t speak about longevity or know what batch it was, nor about reformulations. I notice the aroma is quite linear, but what stands out most is in the dry-down, where you notice that fresh vanilla, nothing cloying, with a spicy touch and something more; it reminds me of the smell of a Maria biscuit. As for longevity, I can’t say much, but for the first hour, I had bursts reaching my wrist constantly. Now, 5-6 hours after applying it, it’s very skin-close with a soft vanilla. Scent: 8.5/10. Longevity: ?. Duration: ?. Projection: ?. Versatility: 8/10.
ANI has had me crazy for months, and I could only buy it a few weeks ago. I waited so long because, after reading reviews, many criticised the longevity of the new batches, and I didn’t want to spend so much on something that would last a short while. I understand it was reformulated in 2022; while there are criticisms of the 2021 batch, I managed to get one from February 2021 and I couldn’t complain. As soon as I removed the cellophane from the box, I felt the perfume with force, and it intensified upon opening. In my opinion, it has a heavy and perceptible trail, lasting more than 12 hours on skin. It has a citrus and ‘spiky’ opening, evolving into an incredible creamy, spiced vanilla. I’m fascinated by its evolution; every time I smell it, it surprises me. I love it with all my heart; I can’t put into words how happy I am to have it 🤎
ANI has the punch of any oriental perfume, although its notes at first glance promise something fresh. On stage, ginger appears with bergamot and a warm sensation given by the pepper, followed by cardamom and the rest. It’s a sensation of hot infusion with a perfect balance between ginger, bergamot, cardamom, and something sweet. It’s a wonderful autumn and winter scent for both men and women, with a wide trail, long-lasting, and an intriguing character. It could be too noticeable in small spaces. It will make you fall in love; the notes of sweet, soapy ginger or its use in formal evening situations, knowing you’re wearing something powerful, warm, and different. (I have an old decant that was a monster in terms of power; I don’t know if they’ve changed the formula).
It’s a total bomb. Three sprays are more than enough. It has a very different vanilla from what you find in other fragrances. 10/10.
ANI by Nishane positions itself as one of the best niche fragrances today. This masterpiece begins with a well-marked citrus and spicy explosion, generating intrigue about its evolution. After a few minutes, a magical aroma blooms thanks to the combination of vanilla, rose, currants, benzoin, and amber. This blend creates an olfactory experience that leaves everyone speechless, showing admirable depth and richness. Its performance is excellent; you can’t ask for more in terms of longevity and projection, distilling incredible quality from start to finish. ANI shines and stands out in any collection.
A brutal find. In a perfume shop, the salesperson recommended a tester they claimed was an inspiration for ANI by Nishane. I loved it so much that I sprayed it on blotting paper, carried it with me all day and the next, and left it in my drawer where it perfumed the entire week. I became addicted and finished the decant in two weeks. It’s an instant classic, timeless and out of fashion. Dense yet not cloying, deep and respectful, warm without being overheated. I detect zero synthetic notes. It’s for enjoyment, leaving clothes and sheets smelling of it. A 10/10. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it. For these creations, new ‘niche’ perfumeries are definitely worth the investment. Now, Cedrat Boise has gone down in history; although I liked it too and it has nothing to do with Ani, trying them together made this the one that obsessed me.
An exquisite fragrance. It is sustained by a perfect balance between citrus, spice, and vanilla, combined with supreme ingredient quality that makes its scent unique, perfect, and addictive. A touch of subtle, stimulating sweetness; elegant, original, sparkling, and alluring. Even if you’re not a fan of vanilla perfumes, this always conquers. Longevity is very good, and the sillage, too. It doesn’t fall into the beast mode category, nor does it need to, but it reaches 8-9 hours on my skin with a medium-high trail for two hours, followed by a sustained medium trail throughout its development. Unisex. Highly recommended.
This is beauty in a bottle. Sweet, fresh, aromatic, and herbal all at once. A brutal combination.
Finally, I’ve reached Ani, and what a beauty it is. I had tried it before, but it was after having a sample that I wanted more and more. I love its strong ginger; it’s a very original, citrusy vanilla, but a different and very cheerful citrus vanilla. Unisex, certainly. It has something that makes you return to it again and again. In years, it’s one of the few that has arrived to stay; that’s a lot because I’m fickle and easily enamoured with perfumes. I think it’s a perfect representation of modern, carefree vanilla for anyone and any occasion. A gift for the nose.
An exquisite and different vanilla; it has the freshness of Layton in the opening, a fresh note I believe is from a hyper-realistic ginger, but which disappears within an hour of application. The longevity is insane; I woke up the next day and could still smell it, so much so that I put my shirt in the wash because it was radiating the fragrance. The 100ml bottle will last me a lifetime.
Evolutionary, balanced, with many facets ranging from the citrusy and spicy ginger to a subtle vanilla accompanied by spices that make this Ani a delicious olfactory journey. A marvel. Vanilla perfumes usually turn me off, but this is another world entirely.
A vanilla-infused Hacivat that makes it elegant and neutrally unisex. The fresh, citrusy opening is immediately dominated by vanilla and woods, which persist alongside that characteristic earthy scent of patchouli. At the end, the vanilla remains strong with a smoky touch; very rich. An excellent fragrance, though I prefer the Hacivat; however, I’m sure this perfume will be very suitable for vanilla lovers.
It’s a scent that denotes cleanliness! It has an opening with pink pepper, a fascinating smell that makes it slightly sweet. Then you feel exquisite cardamom, which, when combined with the pepper and a resinous tone, makes it feel as if you’re smelling a sweet liqueur 😋😋 Although it’s more of a night-time fragrance, I find it very wearable and suitable for any occasion (I even wear it to the gym). It has excellent performance; about eight hours with a very good trail. A discrete and very versatile fragrance, I’d say. A bit similar to Lattafa’s Khamrah, though this is more versatile. 💯% recommended 🕉️🕉️🕉️
🍰🌼 Ani sends a hug ▪️ Ani is elegant yet friendly. It smells of money and someone who knows what they want in life, with great personality. It’s sweet, with a spicy ginger kick, and incense accompanying the vanilla makes it truly lovely. My nose gets used to it very quickly, and I stop smelling it quite fast. Longevity and projection, in my opinion, are moderate. For some reason, it reminds me of Naxos, which along with Ani are my favourite fragrances. I struggle to imagine using it in a very informal context; if I’m wearing Ani, I need to be dressed in a shirt, with determination. Here I am, and this is how I want to smell.
Oh my, what a beauty. Love at first sniff. I think I’ve possibly found a signature fragrance without even looking for one. It might be a unisex scent, but it has a very feminine personality; it’s secure yet delicate, embodying that kind of silent, calm confidence so characteristic of women. It has a refined, modest joy; it’s simply precious.
I ordered a generous sample, as I’d heard it was the densest vanilla. Is it dense? Yes, but for me, it’s a totally masculine scent. I can’t see myself wearing it. It has a sophisticated and powerful edge. The dry down is rich, so I’ll give it a chance.
Another gem from the perfumery world; the quality of this fragrance is beyond description, or simply put, it’s Nishane. It features the richest, most authentic vanilla you’ll ever try; what they’ve achieved with this creation is incredible. If you enjoy sweet perfumes, this is the best you’ll find. You’ll truly understand its essence and quality after using it three or four times. After that, you’re ready to enjoy the finest sweet fragrance in perfumery!
This perfume is a marvel; it mixes citrus in the opening and then leaves a sweetness I’ve never smelled before… (except Althair, they aren’t similar, but its sweetness is equally exquisite). The truth is, it’s totally worth the price.
Ani is exquisite, different, bold, and addictive. Complex yet easy to wear. A distinct vanilla, neither simple nor cloying, but creamy, refined, and balanced. An extraordinary evolution that improves minute by minute. It opens citrusy, spicy, fresh, and energetic, with bergamot and ginger. In the heart, creamy and enveloping vanilla with hints of rose and cardamom, maintaining the spiciness. In the dry down, one of the most addictive, woods (sandalwood and cedar) emerge, adding depth and elegance. The base is warm, sensual, and balsamic, with excellent longevity. The evolution is smooth and continuous. Performance exceeds 10 hours with medium-high sillage at the start. Ideal for autumn and winter. It catches attention and makes people ask what you’re wearing. Nishane Ani is impeccable: power, elegance, and balance. It proves that vanilla can be sophisticated. Simply magical. Rating: 9.5.
Ani is one of those rare perfumes that makes you smile the moment you smell it; you know it will soon be a bottle. It opens with a sharp lemon softened by pink pepper. That citrus-spicy opening sets the stage for a vanilla flan wrapped in ginger, giving it a spark and preventing it from becoming cloying. It’s in this contrast between warmth and freshness that the magic lies. When it settles, it becomes silky, enveloping, and more addictive. The base woods emerge, adding elegance and depth. An ideal unisex perfume to share, it performs better in the shoulder seasons but works well in winter too. No complaints about the current batch; it accompanies me perfectly throughout the day. If you like vanilla and citrus, Ani delivers hands down. Longevity: 7-8h. Sillage: 7/10. Originality: 9.5/10. Quality: 9/10. Value for money: 7/10 (162€/100ml).
I don’t understand people who find it simple and dislike it; it doesn’t bother me, everyone has their own tastes, but I simply don’t get it. I think it’s incredibly versatile and unisex; perhaps I wouldn’t wear it at 35°C, but never say never. It’s sweet, spiced, warm, and fresh all at once, perfect for any occasion. A resounding 10.
Reformulated and ruined… a shame that niche perfumes with sky-high prices reformulate with lower-quality ingredients and shorter longevity for the same price. It was love at first sniff, much better than Hacivat, but the reformulation killed it. Not worth it, it doesn’t last or project as before. A reformulated perfume I will never buy again.
WORTH EVERY EURO IT COSTS, IF YOU HAVE THIS YOU WILL NEVER NEED ANOTHER GOURMAND FRAGRANCE. ONLY NAXOS COMPETES WITH IT, EVERYTHING ELSE IS NOWHERE NEAR COMPETITIVE. BRAVO.
ANI evolves, don’t be fooled by the opening, take it slowly. Apply it to your skin and take a walk. After thirty minutes it transforms and that famous vanilla emerges. Be patient and you’ll enjoy its quality.
My favourite perfume, undoubtedly a masterpiece. Dense, dark, creamy… with a pleasant citrus and ginger opening, followed by amber vanilla and woods, quite a madness. Totally unisex, though those with fragile masculinity might find it a bit feminine; honestly, it suits women better, but I couldn’t care less. It’s incredibly sexy, you can tell it’s expensive, lasts long and projects well without being overpowering. Everyone will notice you, but without being heavy.
Beautiful perfume, excellent top notes, worth every penny. It starts fresh and minty, evolving into a deep, enveloping vanilla with potent citrus in between. The trail, projection, and longevity are ten out of ten.
