Nasheet by Lattafa Perfumes

Another failed note attempt from Fragrantica. Here are the real ones: top of bergamot, pink pepper and cardamom; heart of jasmine, vanilla and patchouli; base of benzoin, sandalwood and vanilla. Nothing else.

I’ve had this for months searching for an Ani dupe… At first it seemed very synthetic and I didn’t like it… I let it macerate and it’s a beauty! It doesn’t list lemon or bergamot but it smells like lemon feet, with a delicious little vanilla…

A tremendous disappointment. I don’t know how Ani smells, but I do know that this smells like Bentley for Man Intense with considerably poorer quality. I doubt anyone could tell the difference, honestly. I still don’t understand the hype surrounding this fragrance.

Smells like cyclamen flower: gummy, ambered, rough, animalic but synthetic. A soap but with an exotic aroma.

I don’t care about the percentage of similarity with Ani. I love this scent. Yes, it is linear, but I enjoy it. Unisex, cold climate. It lasts very well and it’s freshly opened. Excellent price. I see no faults.

If you try it, do so on very cold days. I made the mistake of trying it on a temperate/warm day, and the metallic part was very sharp and unpleasant. Totally different experience when trying it in the cold, it changed my perception for the better. 5/10

I let it mature for a few weeks because the longevity was non-existent at first, and it improved vastly, as happens with almost all Arabic perfumes that need three or five weeks of waiting. It is sweet, fresh, and unisex (on my nose, it leans towards feminine). The opening is very synthetic and improves as it dries; there is a medicinal note that hits hard at first and fades afterwards, something that may not appeal to everyone. Is it a dupe for Ani? It can pass as Nishane from a distance, but if you get close or know the real Ani, there is an abyss in terms of ingredient quality and projection. At Nishane, the notes cascade progressively, whereas at Nasheet, they all sound together at once. For the price (I paid it on offer for $9), it is a good addition for daily wear.

Tested side-by-side with Nishane Ani: Ani is a well-crafted perfume with a noble scent where you note the vanilla combined with ginger and the citrus touch separately, like layers. This Nasheet has the same scent but everything mixed, unable to distinguish the parts. I won’t give percentages as it is relative, but I’d say 90%. The difference isn’t just quality, although Nishane uses better ingredients, but in Ani the citrus touch is noticeable, whereas in Nasheet it is not. To tell them apart, I have to wear them on different arms. In Ani, as it dries, the vanilla stays the same, the ginger rises, and the woods too, getting closer to this Arabic scent. I doubt their notes unless that declared incense is very similar to Ani’s vanilla. They are very similar perfumes, ideal for evening wear, super versatile, but work better in the evening. I do not recommend it for enclosed places or offices, and obviously, never in heat. This is not an inspiration; it is an open-book clone.

Lattafa Nasheet was a blind buy and I have no regrets: the opening is spicy and citrusy, but tasteful and nothing alcoholic. During the first hour, I feel it progress to give way to a very good quality vanilla, which reminds me of a lemon tart about to be bitten into, sensing the aroma of the cream without browning, with the lemon and vanilla pastry underneath. Rich scent, moderate projection, and high longevity; I bought it three months ago and it is improving with time.

A deliciously scented perfume, perfect for dates as it’s not invasive, yet it stays within your personal bubble, which is a bit small. It projects and leaves a trail for about 40 minutes before becoming very intimate, though you always sense it and it becomes addictive. For me, it’s perfect for sleeping, very pleasant. On my skin, it lasts between 8 and 10 hours. Scent: 10/10 Trail: 3/10 Projection: 3/10 Longevity: 8/10.

I bought it for 23€ for 100ml. It is a sweet scent with a very noticeable incense and totally unisex. It is well-balanced, but I don’t think it is for everyone, as the opening appears as a medicinal smell. Yes, it is quite rare, but it smells very good. As for longevity and projection, I would say they are moderate, but I will leave it for a few months to see if it improves. It is quite linear, the same scent from start to finish, and in the dry-down it resembles Bentley For Men. For the price of 20-25€, it is good, but for cold climates.

It seemed to me to be a weak vanilla-sweet perfume, very weak; so weak that you have to bring your nose close to the clothes to smell it from the start. It shares the amber touch in the line of Eternal Oud, but faint, weak, and a bit like ‘Wafa’, which it cannot even shadow. It is true that Wafa does not feel as vanilla, but if you have to spend something on something good, with impact and a blind buy of everyone’s taste: Wafa, certainly (it has no reviews on Fragrantica but yes on YouTube and is supposedly a dupe or of the style of Black Phantom by Kyllian). Anyway, I will wait a couple of months for this Nasheet to mature or macerate, as the forums say, as some Arabic perfumes have already been reduced, reformulated, or lack maceration. 20 March 2024.

I received a strange batch; it comes out super spicy before settling into a creamy vanilla, but the vanilla takes so long to arrive that the spice never gets to shine and everything fades too quickly. I wouldn’t recommend it blindly.

This doesn’t last a sigh, projects nothing, and isn’t liked because obviously no one can smell it. I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you want the bottle for your luxury collection.

I definitely haven’t got used to it yet. It smells like vanilla custard stuffed into an old, damp wooden chest. It’s one of those perfumes where it’s more pleasant to smell its trail than to be the suffering wearer.
