  I picked this up in London on a trip where I brought back several treasures. What a beast of a perfume! Dark, intense, and smoky. The cypress carries significant weight, giving it a crucial aromatic touch that deepens that dark oud sensation. It’s pure fire, animalic skin, and plenty of rough musk. You can detect the vanilla, though it doesn’t sweeten too much. It has a bit of Interlude, but nothing more. It’s a brilliant piece by Celine Zarokian, one that Francesca Bianchi could have signed. A 50ml bottle that lasts a lifetime. Most would label it masculine and for winter. If you like mysterious, dense perfumes that make an impact, give it a try. Not many people will wear this, or almost none.

  I was genuinely surprised by how wearable this oud is; I’d read it was unbearable and overpowering, but it isn’t. Having a trained nose thanks to Aquas di Gio, I can compare well: yes, it’s potent and dark, but it smells fantastic. It’s a truly woody, smoky oud; the cypress note gives it that clarity and silver touch that saves it, though I personally don’t trust cypress. It’s a characterful scent, something vintage yet with that freshness that makes it more wearable than I expected. It’s not Oud Infini, nor Musiqa Oud, nor Africa Olifant—those are indeed difficult to wear daily.
