Prada L'Homme L'Eau by Prada is a woody-chypre fragrance for men. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by perfumer Daniela Andrier. Upon opening, the scent unfolds with neroli and ginger; the heart reveals iris and amber; while the base settles on powdery notes, sandalwood and cedar.

One of the best scents if you like the clean, soapy smell. A luxury soap, high-class, made into perfume. Its weak points are its scant projection and longevity of around 6 hours on skin, much longer on clothes, of course. Its versatility is limited to spring and summer, as it doesn’t perform correctly in the cold. Elegant, nothing invasive, crisp. The original L’Homme is more versatile as it serves for all seasons, but for me, who consider the original a niche-quality perfume, I see this L’Homme L’Eau as one of the most beautiful scents for the heat, nothing citrusy or acidic. The neroli together with the iris and sandalwood give it a delightful subtlety to smell, addictive. Perfect for the office. One of my favourite scents.

Prada L’Homme L’Eau is a perfect fragrance for daily use; in my opinion, it suits any tropical climate, day or night. It smells clean and attractive, possessing a powdery iris that is pleasant and agreeable. I love the bottle; it’s one of those perfumes where if you apply it to your arm, you want to sniff it all day long; highly recommended.

  • Nahhhh, this is a dream…!! I love myself for buying this fragrance. It’s top-tier, elegant, nothing invasive, as crisp as possible, and genderless; whoever wears it will leave the best impression.

  • A good perfume, but I find it too innocent; it doesn’t generate anything special for me. It’s a crisp scent, where a citrus opening with ginger and the classic dusty iris of Prada stand out. It seems similar to the smell of baby wipes. Generally, it’s liked and earns compliments, and it’s quite versatile. Performance is moderate. I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • I bought this perfume for its powdery notes and its ‘clean’ aroma; it was a blind purchase of which I now regret. To me, it reminds me of the smell of medicine or something similar. I read it was for daily use, but for me, I couldn’t stand it; it usually causes me a headache.

  • A very rewarding perfume; it’s soft, elegant, fresh, and my wife is fascinated by it. Long-lasting, good performance. A real gem from Prada.

  • Not much more needs to be said about this Prada line. Personally, I prefer this to the original; it gives a fresh little touch that suits me better without diminishing the original in any way, which I also adore. Good longevity, noticeable throughout the workday and making an impression. I usually apply it in the morning between 8 and 9, and I love it because then, around 13h, it’s as if it resurrects and releases some super cool bursts again. I wouldn’t recommend buying blindly if you don’t know the Prada vibe; better to try it first.

  • This is my first review on Fragrantica, dedicated to the creation I know best from my humble collection. I love the Prada L’Homme line, but this L’Eau simply astounds me! When I bought my first bottle, I was obsessed with longevity and sillage, but one day I encountered this sensation and had to surrender. It’s perfect as it is: so light, fresh, delicate… almost like the trail of the scent one wishes to leave after a shower, but more persistent and delicious than any clean smell I know. There are days I bathe in it, spraying without restraint. Sometimes I apply it to a shirt to go out for a while, and when I return home, I take it off and leave it hanging in the wardrobe. The next time I enter the room, its purity envelops me. I forgive its fleeting nature every time I look at it on the shelf… I enjoy it always.

Its direction, character, and longevity are generally known. For me, it has always been exceptional, very timid but with a balanced and noble aroma. My best experience was on an emergency flight; I was running late, rushed to board, and when I sat down and opened my jacket, the scent emerged subtly but with a projection I had never noticed before, leaving a clean, neat, and very kind trail for my fellow passengers. Without annoying anyone or being a beast, it performed fantastically. Recommended for situations where you don’t want to overwhelm someone with your perfume.

  • GabrielPS

This fragrance is exceptional. In my opinion, saying it ‘smells clean’ is oversimplifying its essence and wouldn’t do it justice. It smells like clean soap, yes, but of a dimension that is on another level. It has a lot of class, of a ‘gentleman’. It’s as if you had just stepped out of a luxury vintage barbershop from the 1950s, but in a modernised version. It’s classic yet modern. If you try it, you might understand me; I just say it’s very beautiful. If you’re looking for something that makes you feel clean, fresh, and elegant, with class and contemporaneity, with depth and personality, that is exactly what it conveys to me. I believe it is the most realistic iris I have tried. As for longevity, it lasts all day for me. It also projects, at least in my case.

  • antuanoro

The neroli gives it that delicious citrus touch, the iris adds elegance, and the sandalwood provides creaminess. It’s a marvel; my go-to fragrance to feel utterly classy when the heat is on. Plus, for some reason, I detect it much more strongly and for longer than the original. I’m not sure if it’s my skin type or the more accentuated citrus notes, but every so often I get little ‘waves’ of scent, which didn’t happen with the other one that would drop to skin-level immediately and never come back…

  • I.aprendiz

A very Italian fragrance with that signature house iris, which they work wonders with… on days like today, these hot ones, I adore it because it gives a sense of immaculate, elegant cleanliness that is addictive. It has the just-right touch of Neroli that is present but not overpowering, a good handful of iris with that soapy point and some floral notes where, without losing that essence, it has amber and earthy sparks. A soap of the highest quality that dresses you like a good bespoke suit, with a performance that, while not rocket-fuel, is very correct. Bottled Italian class…

  • Fraganceando_madrid

I fully agree with @l.aprendiz. It’s an Italian-class perfume that takes its mother’s DNA, with that signature soapy iris, and adds fresh/spicy notes that orient it towards hot seasons. Elegance and class without being loud. I love the entire line and how Prada works with iris. Highly recommended.

  • Prada L’Homme L’Eau – Batch 12/19. Little more to add regarding what has already been said: a clean, soapy perfume with that elegant, almost dandy Italian touch. It has a soapy, fresh opening with a slight spice from ginger, which fades after a while to leave a ‘talc-metallic’ sensation throughout its cycle. Although it doesn’t project wildly, its longevity is high (on clothes it can last days), forming a personal bubble that releases bursts with its own or others’ movements, and even after eight hours, it leaves a very pleasant sensation. Someone described it as the perfect office perfume, and probably that’s it: discreet, clean for everyone, yet elegant.

  • I won’t add much more to what FragranceX has already stated. It’s the Prada DNA, but a bit fresher and citrusier for summer enjoyment. I love the brand’s treatment of the ‘clean’ concept: clean and classy. Moderate performance, for personal enjoyment. I wouldn’t buy it, as I opt for other scents in the line that I prefer more.

  • This is a marvel, as expected, one of the best on the current market. My batch is from 2018, though I’ll let it macerate for a few months to improve. It’s in the style of Prada L’Homme Intense but more personal and soapy. I applied it today in cold weather just to test it, but it’s clear this requires milder climates. I’ll use it for special occasions.

  • Daniela Andrier hit the nail on the head with her first Prada, Infusion d’Mandarine; once the Holy Grail was found, it was just a matter of polishing it, and the following year she presented Infusion d’Iris, a niche-quality fragrance with masterful subtlety. She then ‘masculinised’ it with Infusion d’Homme, which is basically the current Infusion d’Iris Cedre, thus creating clean, elegant, and exclusive perfumes that no one has been able to imitate. Years later, she released Prada L’Homme, another niche gem, strange, clean, versatile, and of spectacular quality. Facing the risk of releasing a worthy flanker, she did so: its exclusive summer version, Prada L’Homme L’Eau, so exquisite that, although it shares a base with the original, it has its own identity and a high-quality soapy beauty. It is more floral than citrus, more innocent, and possesses the beauty of purity. The Prada L’Homme scents only resemble each other, except for the Intense, which is something else entirely. Prada L’Homme L’Eau sits at the top of clean, soapy perfumes, fully compatible with the Infusions, other jewels of elegant cleanliness. If you’re looking for something dark or mysterious, this isn’t for you, just as a seminarian boyfriend wouldn’t be for a woman seeking carnal passion, but don’t be fooled: this apparent simplicity requires mastery accessible to few. Unisex, it generates compliments, lasts longer than it appears, and has moderate projection. 10/10.

  • What a curious coincidence with this Prada L’Homme L’Eau. I already owned the older versions in my collection, and every time I tested it in stores, I felt buying it was redundant, viewing it as a diluted, watery version. In the end, after finishing a decant, as I love this DNA so much, I decided to get a bottle. Objectively, both the Intense and the original seem superior in aroma and performance… but what a shame! This is the one I use more than any other. With regular wear, I’ve discovered something I value in perfumery: it aims for nothing more than making the wearer feel good. It doesn’t seek to conquer or attract attention. It has an innocent, pure air more pronounced than its sisters. A clean, simple, straightforward scent that embraces you with optimism and brightens the day… plus, it’s brilliant for the night before bed as it’s light and non-intrusive.

  • It’s a gem that recalls the original but with a fresher, skin-hugging opening. On my skin, it doesn’t last as long, yet its longevity isn’t compromised; it lingers on clothes until the next day. It creates a personal bubble that invites people closer. It maintains that signature clean, talc-like scent with Prada’s exquisite iris, all set over a soft woody base. Another masterpiece from Prada and Daniela Andrier.

I was looking for a perfume I could wear from 9 to 6 all year round. I wasn’t looking for the typical bergamot-heavy fresh scent. I was browsing the shopping centre and walked into a perfumery. I explained what I was looking for to the gentleman attending me, and he let me try a few, bergamot and more bergamot… until he let me smell the Phantom, and next to the Phantom was Prada. I was drawn to having seen it in reviews and requested it. As it was the fifteenth perfume smelling in that shop, I took the little paper while walking through the shopping centre. It caught my attention, without a doubt, it was something different from what I had been smelling. Days later I arrived at the free shop and in a little corner was Prada. There was the Prada L’HOMME Intense and the Prada L’HOMME Leau. After smelling the Intense and being tempted to buy it, I calmed down and decided to only buy what I was looking for. So, without smelling this one, without having tested the tester, I bought it, almost blindly… I paid for it, opened it, and sprayed it on my wrist. Soap, citrus, and all wrapped in a delicious talc. What a piece of a perfume. It’s sweet but in no way cloying, a clean and crisp smell, but not therefore less interesting. It’s that kind of perfume that no one will ask what it is but that everyone will recognise your scent. Thanks for crossing my path. 5/5

  • Kylow Ren

A marvel. Smell of cleanliness, without being heavy. Pleasant, soapy, fine, and elegant. With quite acceptable projection and longevity. Very usable for any season, thanks to that touch that makes it fresher than, for example, the Intense which I also own, as that one has a more limited scope. It seems to me to be a well-rounded fragrance.

  • To my taste, it smells too feminine and mature. I have the feeling of having smelled someone at work with this aroma, someone of good standing and profession. Very formal. Do not buy blindly.

  • Martínvenezuela

Five stars, a spectacular unisex fragrance, buy it. If I tell you to buy it, it’s because it’s good.

  • Agustin Vera

It doesn’t seem as summery as the reviews say. The base is a bit heavy, and for that reason, combined with the freshness of the opening, it ends up being quite versatile. I would like Prada to release fresher versions of their perfumes, not just this one, but also of Amber Pour Homme.

  • I see a very versatile and non-aggressive fragrance, so you can apply it several times during the day without worrying about smelling too strong. It adapts very well to any circumstance, offering a formal and clean touch.

  • JoseMartin

A fragrance with a clean iris note, as if it were a very high-quality soap, very pleasant and ideal for everyday wear. It works well in spring, summer, and autumn (at least with the climate in Peru, where there are no extremes); its fresh, slightly spicy opening gives it a distinct touch. Excellent for the office and discreet.

  • fresita55

A very rich, delicious, clean and crisp aroma. Very similar to Prada L’HOMME but this one is a bit more innocent, tender, and has a more pulsating, sparkly touch thanks to the ginger. Incredibly clean, kind, and sophisticated.

  • juliosoconnor

How beautiful is the Prada iris, what a heady aroma. What trilogy did Prada bring out with L’Homme, each in its place. This is what I want my skin to smell like always, and for going out I use the Intense. This is its most informal, innocent and refreshing version, to use it all year round. Even in summer I leave the Intense aside and go out with this, with that clean feeling, of luxurious soap, with that precious and perfect iris that only Prada has.

  • Coming from the standard version, to be honest, I don’t notice much difference except that this one feels a bit more diluted, yet it smells the same. Perhaps being softer makes it true that it’s a bit more talcky, but I find it very redundant. Either way, it smells like clean laundry and is usually quite liked, though you do need to be fond of the iris vibe. Try it first, as it’s not worth spending money on if you won’t like it later. I wish the trail were wider; that’s its main flaw, though for others it might be a virtue, as the iris, if it radiates too much, can indeed become overwhelming.

  • A fragrance wonder. Prada L’Homme L’Eau has scent, quality and versatility for every occasion. It smells of luxurious soap, clean and musky; the iris, ginger, amber and sandalwood notes give it a light and fruity touch, with a subtle sweetness. I’m testing it today and it fills me with expectations. I’m using it in the office with air conditioning, it feels like a beautiful vibe with a constant trail. There are bursts of that rich scent. I think I’ll get many compliments, as colleagues have been left searching for the smell.

  • I consider it the most versatile perfume. The clean smell is always pleasant, in spring, summer, autumn, winter, day or night, and it doesn’t go out of fashion. I smelled it one day on someone who wore it to football and sat next to me; since then I wanted to find the culprit. My keywords were clean, soapy and musky, which led me to Prada.

  • Ideal signature perfume, versatile beyond measure. If you want to smell clean, elegant and fresh, L’Homme L’Eau is for you. A few sprays and you feel like you’ve just stepped out of the shower; you can go in a suit with a briefcase or with a short-sleeved shirt, glasses and sandals to grab a drink at the beach. I like it quite a bit, but I feel it lacks character (the Intense is the perfect duo, darker and more bow-tie). More appropriate for the day and informal settings.

  • I must confess that the first time I smelled it in a diffuser I was disgusted, but yesterday when I applied it on skin I was fascinated. It’s a perfume that makes you feel clean, fresh and elegant. It’s something dense, so I wouldn’t use it in extreme heat, but it’s very versatile, practically for all year round.

  • Know that I have the three main variations: Intense, Classic 2016 and L’Eau. L’Eau would be the one I’d recommend least from the line. It’s not a bad perfume, it’s above 90% of current ones. When you smell it you notice the quality of the ingredients, it smells expensive and well made. It’s musky and white, for a neat, decent and educated man, clean in clothes and vocabulary. Ideal for semi-formal moments, when you want to feel casual/elegant without overdoing it, like with linen trousers and a white shirt with sleeves rolled up. Not for a tie suit. It’s very good, but if you want the grand prize, go straight for the 2016 Classic. Fun fact: L’eau means ‘water’ in French, draw your own conclusions. It’s a pity the longevity is scarce, it projects 1 or 2 hours and then stays in your personal bubble. I use about 8 sprays so it’s noticeable.

  • I have the Intense and the Iris is very marked, this one doesn’t suit me although it has something that catches. This EDT is a spectacular smell of freshly ironed clothes. It’s long-lasting and, without a doubt, the best of the whole line.

  • Arthur Grenouille

Greetings to perfume lovers. Be honest: it’s a blind buy. It’s 100% masculine, smells of impeccableness, of a rich man, of clean and neat, like a two-thousand-dollar soap. In 2017 people read reviews saying it smelled of money and luxurious neatness and didn’t understand a thing. It’s hard to explain if you don’t know it. This L’Eau smells of wealth, but without dark notes, stable, leather or oud; nothing that ‘connoisseurs’ call the scent of wealth today. It’s a luminous fragrance seeking to enchant everyone, based on iris. If you don’t like iris, go elsewhere. It’s 90% similar to the classic EDT, but dries out more musky and the opening is spicier due to the ginger and neroli. It doesn’t have those diabetic notes young people like. They say it doesn’t last, but my 2022 bottle lasts 6-7 hours on the skin, projecting well for 2 hours, and from the sixth hour it starts to fade; on clothes it lasts over 24 hours strong and 48 hours light. Note, I use 10 sprays on the back of the neck to avoid olfactory fatigue. Nowadays people are rude with Arabic perfumes that last 20 hours synthetically; Prada L’Homme L’Eau offers extreme premium quality. It could be from Prada’s private line and cost 200 dollars and people would pay for it. I have all three jewels of the line and they are well above niches and modern designers. It’s a masterpiece for the office, dates, the gym or any place where you want to be the master of cleanliness and luxury. Nobody hates a man who smells extremely clean and luxurious.

  • I’ve used it enough to give an opinion. It’s a citrus-floral and musky-woody blend. It starts with neroli and a very spicy ginger, fresh but with that white floral and musky note; the opening lasts about 20 minutes. Then comes the heart, my favourite part: the iris. It has that cosmetic, creamy, sweet and musky aspect, a heady scent; the amber just adds depth. This heart lasts 3-4 hours. The base is super musky, reinforced by the iris and noble woods, which keep that clean and creamy touch for another 4 hours. Ideal for spring, summer and autumn (it’s not flat fresh, it has depth but cleanliness). It only projects well in the sun. Use it anywhere, but with semi-formal attire: work, study or interviews. It conveys luxury thanks to the iris, smells like clothes straight from the dry cleaner, so clean you wouldn’t want to soil it. It’s the scent of purity. Scent: 9.7/10, Sillage: 7/10, Versatility: 6/10, Price: 5.5/10.

The L’Homme line from Prada is essentially the same fragrance in three versions: EDT, Intense, and this L’Eau, which only differ in potency. I tried a L’Oréal dupe in France, and despite what people say online about the Spanish version being stronger, I expected worse performance and was wrong; this French version met my expectations.
