  • I am reviewing it again. It is that every time I apply it, I fall in love more. From the opening, the pure cedar wood of such a pure olfaction is perceived. They say well that less is more. Coriander, iris, and cedar. What more could you ask for? The citrus and amber are very subtle, barely perceptible. Simple, pure, elegant, sensual, timeless, delicate and exquisite scent.

  • Sublime, exquisite, an all-rounder for any climate and occasion. Good longevity and moderate projection as a perfume should be. The powdery lip iris note is present but I love it.

  • Dior Homme Eau For Men and Dior Homme Parfum are, in my opinion, the best of the Homme line from Dior. This perfume smells of iris as one would expect, with all the DNA of the line: powdery, refined, and of excellent quality. Unlike the other flankers, this is an all-rounder (except on extremely hot days). Particularly, it is somewhat fresh and clean, giving a sensation of hygiene. Although at first it may seem very powdery, it decreases with the minutes and balances very well with the rest of the notes. It conveys peace, cleanliness, luxury, resilience, elegance, and daring (due to the iris note, which some believe looks like makeup). Easy to wear: work, university, simple social meetings day or night, daily casual encounters, shopping, dinners, lunches, travel, etc. Not for night outings like dancing, parties, clubs, or galas (for that, there is the Parfum and the Intense). Honestly, I do not know if it would be a blind buy; perhaps if you already know the line or similar perfumes you could buy it, but as not everyone finds it easy to get along with the prominent iris, I advise trying it on the skin first and letting it act for several hours. In summary (keeping in mind that it is an Eau de Toilette): Scent 10, Longevity 9, Projection 8, Sillage 7.5, Price/Performance 10. Age range: wide, from 20 onwards. It absolutely fulfils its objective: a perfume for almost any moment, without annoying anyone and smelling great, a candidate for a daily perfume if you like iris, do not want to smell like the rest of the world, and want to use a perfume that smells expensive.

  • I had used Dior Homme and liked it very much. Instead of repurchasing it (I am not one to repeat fragrances), one day I tried the Eau and the Parfum and decided on the first, as I felt it was more versatile. I like it because it has the iris note present (maintains the DNA) but feels fresher, mind you, not sporty. I feel it elegant like its mother fragrance, even more masculine. I have had the bottle for three years, so I know its performance very well. Its sillage, as others say well, is moderate, but its longevity is excellent, easily 10 hours. The last time I used it was for a daytime wedding, with 12 sprays; I assure you, based on comments from my friends and my wife, the sillage had become heavy; even a friend at the end of the party told me it was incredible how it still had so much perfume, he was using Black XS L’Excess and it was already barely noticeable. I think this is a point in favour of the Homme (at least the classic and this one) that the fixation is so good it allows choosing the sillage with the number of sprays. As for the quality, for me it feels very natural in its notes, zero artificial. Moving into subjective territory, the opening seems sublime to me, then it loses magic. It is here (around the third hour) where the classic Dior Homme has something I like more; my nose enjoys it more because it mutates quite a bit, while the Eau remains more linear.

  • Delicious, an timeless all-rounder. You can splash half a bottle and it causes no havoc; the sillage is moderate but the longevity is very long. It is one of those subtle, discreet fragrances that sticks around without leaving. I do not perceive it as linear, but I recognise it is not the opposite either. It smells fine, good taste.

  • For me, who do not like ‘blue’ fragrances much (with marine notes, like Bleu de Chanel), it was difficult to find a good option for the office in summer, and with DHE I found it. Citrus opening, heart with the classic iris of DH, and base of wood and amber. All of impeccable quality, because it seems that for a moment we forget that the quality of the notes is as important as the notes themselves. Another gem from Dior, my favourite house for men’s perfumes.

  • The lighter and more versatile version of Dior Homme maintains the iris note and that talcum sensation, adding a faintly soapy touch. Scent: 8.5. Originality: 8.5. Versatility: 9. Climate: mild to slightly warm days. Occasions: office and light casual wear. Age: under 35. Quality: 9. Price: 8. Sillage: 8.5. Longevity: 8.5. Bottle design: 8.5. Overall rating: 8.5.

  • I am surprised that this fragrance from the line lasts longer than the Intense. Very pleasant, long-lasting, and discreet. Of course, do not expect BEAST MODE, but it is one of the few current fragrances that remain redeemable.

  • I have a bottle from 2016, bought it in February, and today, 9th April, I opened it with total disappointment: the scent has changed and the reformulation is horrible. I compared it side by side with the old bottle, I have two fingers left, and it smells different: with less strength and less virility. What a pity they change the recipes; Chanel is doing the same.

  • It will be a perfect day for laziness (armchair and Netflix at full tilt). Still, I decided to review this gem that Demachy created as a flanker to my beloved DH and DHI (Sport is almost a no-go due to the excess of ginger, while the Cologne is absolute glory). I must admit that the stupidity of prejudice against the chosen model (the sugary, bland vampire of Robert Pattinson) almost stopped me from trying it back in 2015. Eau for Men is by far the most versatile version of the line. An enjoyable fragrance all year round, but it performs even better during the day. Its citrus character, with exquisite Calabrian grapefruits and bergamots, proposes a different journey where iris has a quieter but no less alert presence. The cacao and leather are completely absent; the lipstick effect is totally null. It has the DNA of the other beasts that went crazy among the brave ten years ago, but here the development is different and is much appreciated. The Tuscan iris is the king in the heart notes, and although it never falters, it cedes part of the throne to amber and Virginia cedar (on my skin, it is the most lasting and enjoyable note). In summary, take advantage of its moderate price and try it on the skin. I think you will not regret it and will vindicate its status as the freshest, most interesting, and persistent version. It is undervalued due to the supremacy of the first two creations I love madly. So watch out for Eau for Men. Let its timidity not deceive you.

  • This perfume is impressive; it is fresh and clean, for me the best of the fresh line along with Sport and Cologne. The distinctive note is the iris, as in the whole line, accompanied by citrus and flowers that make this fragrance a delight. It is long-lasting and has a trail that, when you expect it to disappear after about 8 hours, returns in a flash as if announcing its departure.

  • Reading the reviews, I expected something similar to Prada L’homme, but what a difference: here the citrus (at first) and woods have their weight, and the iris is more airy. It is less formal and more versatile than Prada. When I found out it was by Dior, I was about to dismiss it, but I went to try it; unfortunately, it often happens that the highest quality works have less commercial reach. A year after Homme Eau was released, Sauvage was born and took all the attention, eclipsing its older brother and relegating him to the corner. It is a pity, because (Eau) seems to me a great fragrance without restrictions of age, season or activity. No trace of ambroxan. They took the iris from the original Homme, stripped it bare, accompanied it with citrus and woods and a sweetness that is not cloying. It is minimalist and transparent, much more informal than any other variant (except the Cologne). It smells fantastically well and the performance has no objections. It creates a subtle but perceptible aura. Elegant and discreet, it is the opposite of Sauvage. Impossible to imagine two brothers more different. Another gem they are taking and sending to the pantheon of discontinued scents. DEP.

  • svazquez7

What I love most is that it smells like a library full of encyclopaedias. It is distinguished, it makes you feel intellectual and analytical (something I don’t usually describe in fragrances). While everyone goes for Sauvage, this is undoubtedly one of my favourites (behind Eau Sauvage Parfum). It has more elegance and discretion, without being skin-scented, it denotes good taste and masculinity.

  • I am 21 years old and I have to confess that I love Dior Homme; I know it doesn’t suit my age, but what can you do. I had never heard anything like this (I’m not referring to the 2020 version), but it smells as if I were wearing my father’s perfume. I thought about waiting until I graduated, but they discontinued it. Faced with my need, I found Dior Homme Eau, also discontinued. I bought and tried it: rich. I expected something more powdery and refined like Homme, but I suppose this suits my age better. I love the iris in Dior Homme; it reminds me of my great-aunt, may she rest in peace, of her room with citrus perfume and fine makeup, but Dior Homme Eau has a more hidden iris.

  • How to describe Dior Homme Eau? It is the softest version of Dior Homme with less iris and very marked spices. In my opinion, it is one of the least graceful in the line. It’s not bad, but I prefer Prada L’homme.

  • I owned Dior Homme Intense and wanted another fragrance from the brand that wasn’t Sauvage, so I came across this EDT. It has a slightly citrusy opening but the same DNA that captivated me completely; it is much softer and women are fascinated by it. Plus, it has excellent longevity on my skin.

  • Incredible how the prices of this EDT have skyrocketed so quickly. And that’s without much… DISCONTINUED!

  • Discontinued flanker of Dior Homme EDT, which stands out for a softer, cleaner iris, less incisive but brighter and more bare. It is the least tainted by the sweetness of cocoa and vanilla found in the other fragrances of the line, which highlights the floral and leather spirit. It accompanies the bergamot in the opening, with a soft leather base that blends with warm tones of sweet cedar. Elegance, cleanliness and maximum versatility. Greetings to the community!

The Dior Homme line is on another level; what a pity about the discontinuations and reformulations. Fortunately, I have old bottles. This perfume is magnificent, elegant, clean and sober. It charms everyone and the iris has become one of my favourite notes thanks to it. A masterpiece, with nothing to criticise.

  • Fresh, sweet and elegant iris. Projection and longevity are moderate, but it pays off for those seeking a serious, neat scent. Not one to obsess over compliments, but rather to enjoy. Ideal for fresh days or nights, nothing summery or sporty. I wear it with semi-formal attire. Rating: 9.2/10.

  • I feel like it is the perfume Ricky Ricón would wear. I have batch 2014 and I treat it like liquid gold. It smells to me like an elegant iris with a base of Fierce Abercrombie. Super rich, elegant, and youthful. Smells like a millionaire.

  • Success lies in simplicity. By simplicity, I mean minimalist, few words, and that doesn’t mean it lacks character or goes unnoticed. To be realistic, the opening is alcoholic, but after a few seconds, the yellow grapefruit says ‘hello’ in a sparkling, tonic way, perhaps due to the coriander note. That opening is an electric back-and-forth where sometimes bergamot skin passes between the grapefruit juice, which refuses to let go. It is not an extremely citrusy opening; it is fresh and sparkling. You have to let exactly 15 minutes pass for the best to happen. As the citrus brightness fades, the iris flower appears, alive, shining, slightly powdery and bright, creamy (in my opinion, it could be an undisclosed patchouli note), and that is when your mood and self-esteem rise to 100%. What a way to evolve into elegance. Because as I say, the Eau for Men is not for splashing in the pool. When the iris hits its peak, it sweetens with amber, and then you realise it is a perfume for any moment, weather, outfit, or gender. The heart of the fragrance is that: a creamy iris sweetened by amber, which holds until the very end where light, subtle woods are born (and a little musk), just as an accompaniment, like a farewell that turns on the party lights. None of this feels synthetic. P.S.: If you want to feel the powdery makeup-type iris of DHI, you have to over-apply on the same spot.

  • It captivates from start to finish: it is a fresh, bright, elegant, and seductive opening thanks to the iris with a cedar-like woody base that lasts until the very end. It is formal, elegant, charming, and addictive. It has moderate to low projection, mostly within the personal bubble, but with great longevity. It is a sound choice for any moment due to its extreme versatility.

After acquiring Homme and Homme Intense, I can define this as more relaxed and versatile, ideal for spring and daytime use. I can imagine it at a country breakfast or on a balcony overlooking the sea, without neglecting the dress code. Truly, this Homme line is among the best a well-made man can wear, someone who doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone.

  • The iris that Prada uses in its L’homme line didn’t quite convince me. For that medicinal powder smell, this comes across as a more refined Prada L’homme. It smells like someone with plenty of money. It is a clean, fresh iris, totally versatile; I can even wear it to the beach. It doesn’t have the power of Dior Homme Intense or the Parfum, but it still has strength and style.

  • imnotlarry

This perfume is simply perfect. It has an excellent balance, classy and clean. It is ideal for the office. I can’t think of a better one (and obviously not just for that). As for the season, I think it is super versatile. 10/10.

  • ra-miro-01

In my opinion, it is the best of the line. It is the cleanest and most exquisite iris scent I have ever smelled. What a pity it is the most despised compared to the others. It has good longevity, an excellent scent, and is versatile beyond measure. If you can get your hands on it, don’t hesitate to buy it.

  • wildkatzen

On 26 July 2022, I went to try the Dior range in-store, including this version… and surprise: they had removed the iris. I tried the others and the same thing happened. I asked the sales assistant what was going on, and she said they had reformulated it and permanently removed that magnificent iris. So, it’s better to try it before; the only one that passed the iris test was the Eau de Parfum.

This is my first review, and I wanted to share my experience with this perfume (I no longer own it) to add my perspective. I bought it to explore iris scents; Prada L’homme is my favourite and inspired me to embark on this olfactory journey. The hype also convinced me, as it was rare to find negative comments about it, which surprised me after using it. Regarding the iris, it doesn’t smell like makeup or lipstick; it’s noticeable but not the main character, so I assume it’s the Tuscany iris. Yes, I agree it’s more masculine than Prada L’homme (though I don’t fully understand the comparison as they are quite different). An English YouTuber said Dior Homme Eau for Men is more classic, almost vintage, whereas Prada is more popular. In my case, I wore it for a date with two sprays and felt very perfumed until I got a headache. My girlfriend noticed the scent, and when I asked her, she shyly said she didn’t like it much. I mentioned that I didn’t feel comfortable either (that whole ‘teaching’ or status vibe just didn’t work for me). The next day, I insisted, and she, more relaxed, said she hated it, that she could smell it from the door, and that it reminded her of old people who over-perfume themselves to go to the doctor. So, I washed the jacket where I wore it, assuming failure. I didn’t use it again; sometimes I’d smell the bottle hoping it would grow on me, but it still seemed too classic-vintage to me. Now that I don’t own it, I’m venting because this forum and its positive comments led me to this experience. I apologise for not being another person who worships it, but it just wasn’t enough for me to use it (nor for my girlfriend). I haven’t tried Dior Homme Intense yet, but I don’t feel like it. I have Valentino Uomo Intense, which is exquisite, but that’s another story.

  • Hello everyone, do you know if they have stopped selling this perfume? I can’t find it at Dior counters anymore. I’m also wondering if there are any clones or similar alternatives that aren’t Prada L’homme (which I already own). I’ve read that they reformulated it; is that true?

  • To Diegogr33: Dior Homme Eau for Men is unfortunately discontinued (as far as I know). Perhaps in some small perfumeries you might still find something. And if I have to recommend a fragrance in that style, it would be Balmain Homme. It reminded me quite a bit of Dior’s. Greetings.

  • A very pleasant and sophisticated Eau de Toilette in the robust and unmistakable Dior bottles. This 2014 fragrance, upon release, has a hint of alcohol; they should improve that. Then, as the minutes pass, the alcohol evaporates and gives way to a good fresh combination: slightly talcum iris, citrus notes that could be fresh grapefruit, wood takes precedence, and it drifts into sweet notes, resembling a delicious soft chocolate. To use in spring due to its fresh aromas. Its trail is moderate and barely noticeable after 2 or 3 hours. I recommend being generous if you’re going out at night or in cold climates. I give it 7 out of 10. Other points to improve are the base notes for its performance, as the trail is soft and doesn’t radiate beyond a metre.

  • Capitánbarco

Another one I comment on purely out of nostalgia. One of the best I’ve tried, the best from this brand alongside the Dior Homme Intense (from the designer collection). It has zero projection and I would still buy it again. Speaking strictly of the scent, I smell grapefruit, iris, and some wood (I’m still deciphering the ridiculous concept of clean/white woods). Superior to Prada L’Homme to my taste, one of the most elegant perfumes I’ve had.

  • Having practically the entire Homme line, this one became my favourite. It brings together the best of all: citrus opening, iris base, woods, and even more in the base a slight amber. If it lasted a bit longer, it would be perfect.

  • Agustin Vera

They should relaunch it with a slight reformulation: make it a bit fresher, add more iris than the first batches, and highlight the citrus notes a bit more.

  • MaatCesar

In the middle of 2025 I managed to get a 100ml bottle with a 2018 batch (8K01) at almost double the price. I bought it again because I missed that rich scent. I’d describe it as simple: it smells like something clean and new, but it’s neither common nor special, quite the opposite. It doesn’t seem to have anything in common with the other Dior Hommes; it’s like an original or an Intense cut in half: it lacks that heavy sweetness and adds citrus freshness. It’s simple but very rich. The longevity leaves much to be desired; it’s the only bad point: it doesn’t last more than 6 hours and I think it only projects for the first hour (at most). I’ve seen comments saying it lasts long, but that’s not my case. What a shame. The one I had in 2021 didn’t last either; perhaps that batch was faulty or who knows. I’ll have to apply many drops. In conclusion, a very rich and masculine scent, but unfortunately it doesn’t last long, a maximum of 5-6 hours.

  • The Dior Homme line has some real stinkers. Of all of them, this is my favourite and the best. As for iris, DIH already has many with similar DNA and quality: Reserve Privée, Prada L’Homme Intense, Valentino Uomo Intense, and achieved clones like Dark Door Sport or Kayan Classic. Eau for Men has an iris that goes hand in hand with citrus and soft woods, perfect and ideal for daytime use, with heat and humidity. It’s fresher and cheerier than the good Gentleman EDT Intense. Except for the latter, there is no other or clone that comes close. Prada L’Homme EDT doesn’t count because it’s too talcum-heavy. Anyway, the best citrus iris for heat, super versatile with an elegant touch, without being too serious. Excellent.

  • Capitánbarco

To the friend Chegadesaudade: seriously, did a girl make you ditch a perfume? She conditioned you so much that, even though you didn’t like it for what you saw, it seemed repulsive after her comments (I can’t find a non-offensive word for someone who speaks disrespectfully about older people, who can be just as or more elegant). I’m sorry, but knowing there is so much insecurity makes me reject it; it could be counterproductive. Thanks for the space to complain; I promise to do it very rarely.

  • joancarmona

A lost gem. It’s no longer available, but if you like it, try Prada L’Homme Blue; they are very similar. It’s the perfect Dior perfume for the office: pleasant and right in the middle ground between the original and the 2020 version. If you can get your hands on one, I recommend it 100%.
