Descripción

Dior Homme Sport by Dior is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2008, this composition was created by François Demachy. The top notes reveal a vibrant citrus blend of Amalfi lemon, grapefruit, bergamot, and elemi resin. The heart of the fragrance is built around ginger, vetiver, and Virginia cedar, while the base notes add depth with rosemary, lavender, and sandalwood.

It’s the best fragrance I know, and I know several because I work in perfumes. It sits perfectly on my skin and smells terribly good to anyone who smells it, whether they catch a lot or a little. Excellent fixation and longevity, people have praised it hours after I wore it! What a pity they changed it. I like the new one, but it doesn’t surpass Dior Homme Sport 2008. I want a limited edition and I’ll buy them all!

  • I love this house. I managed to get this discontinued perfume; the bottle is pretty like the Dior Homme ones. The liquid is lime green, matching the scent. On the first spray it smells citrusy, very pleasant and fresh lemon, nothing synthetic. It lasts 15 minutes, then the lemon blends with ginger and vetiver, a spectacular aroma. I don’t feel the iris from the 2012 version, it’s purely citrus and refreshing. Finally, the ginger dominates, smelling like freshly cut ginger. It has good fixation and projection for a citrus, smells expensive, is subtle and versatile. What a pity it’s off the market, it’s ideal for summer.

I fell in love at first sight! I tried it for just one day and bought it immediately. It’s citrusy, but I don’t find it soapy like Jean Marie Farina, 4711, or Dior Eau Sauvage; here the grapefruit dominates. I had a small déjà vu with Dior and some Chinese soaps from the 80s, but that’s all. It’s elegant, light, and seductive. I now understand the comments. As I live on a tropical island, I highly value light fragrances, and this one is extraordinary. It has a slight soapy touch and a very subtle citrusy note, but the star is the grapefruit. If I’m looking for soapy citrus, I stick with Farina, 4711, Dior, or Ulric de Varens. If I want orangey citrus, I choose Hermès Eau D’Orange Verte or Calvin Klein One Summer 2010. But for fresh grapefruit citrus, I don’t hesitate: Dior Homme Sport, unbeatable. I won’t analyse the other notes as I’ve only had it for a day and others have already done so; I only disagree that it isn’t soapy, as the grapefruit takes centre stage. It’s the best investment for daytime wear in the office in a tropical zone. Timeless and ageless, despite its refinement. What a pity they’ve discontinued it…

My brother has this perfume and I love it. It’s super fresh and delicious! I absolutely love it.

You fall in love at first sniff! I bought it and only wore it once. It’s citrusy but I don’t perceive it as lemony (perhaps due to my references with Farina, 4711 or Dior Eau Sauvage); I sense more grapefruit. I had a deja vu with Dior Eau Sauvage and Chinese soaps from the 80s/90s. It’s elegant, light and seductive. I understand the comments. I’m a fan of light scents, live on a tropical island and this is extraordinarily light. It has a soapy and slightly lemony touch, but grapefruit dominates. If I’m looking for lemony citrus, I think of Farina, 4711, Dior Eau Sauvage or UdV Ulric de Varens. If I’m looking for orange citrus, I’d choose Hermes Eau D’Orange Verte or CK One Summer 2010. But if I’m looking for fresh grapefruit citrus, there’s no doubt: Dior Homme Sport. No competition. I won’t analyse the notes further as I only wore it once. The best investment for the office in a tropical zone. Timeless and no age restriction. What a pity they discontinued it…

Someone on the English forum said it didn’t qualify as ‘sport’ and they’re right. I don’t see it alongside Kenzo Sport, Chanel Allure Homme Sport, etc. I place it more in the ‘Eau de Fraiche’ group, competing with Versace Man Eau Fraiche and other fresh waters.

  • One of my favourites. As I said on Fragrantica, ‘sport’ isn’t the right term; it’s a waste to wear it at the gym. The lemon shines, pure and high quality, not synthetic. The ginger with cedar and vetiver disarms anyone. Simple, delicious and not too mainstream. The downside: they discontinued the original 2008 version and reformulated it with too much iris that ‘dusts’ the freshness, similar to Dior Homme Cologne 2013. Hopefully they’ll relaunch it. Fixation and longevity are impressive, lasting hours without losing intensity. #1 in my TOP 10.

Super fresh and energising, not for sport but for going out in cool places. What a pity they discontinued it, though it’s still available. Will they relaunch it? If so, I’ll buy it before it runs out here.

  • Well-blended cologne, pleasant with good longevity. Solid evolution: lemon and ginger are the stars, the rest secondary (they appear and disappear). My rating: 8.

  • Top fragrance, very fresh and straight lemon. Moderate trail and longevity, smells great to others. Ideal for spring/summer, a balanced citrus without being overpowering. A good option.

  • I love it. A very citrusy and fresh opening with the ginger gradually taking centre stage. There is a great balance between lemon and grapefruit. The sweet touch comes from the elemi resin. It doesn’t disappear quickly like other scents so heavy with citrus. It holds up and lingers with the vetiver, a touch of cedar and some floral notes. For spring and summer, hot days and nights. Long-lasting longevity and heavy sillage.

  • I love it. Very citrusy and fresh opening with ginger that gradually takes centre stage. Great balance between lemon and grapefruit; the sweet touch comes from elemi resin. It doesn’t fade quickly like other heavy citrus scents. It lasts and lingers thanks to the vetiver, a hint of cedar and some floral notes. Ideal for spring and summer, hot days and nights. Long-lasting longevity and a strong sillage.

  • I love the original version. It’s lemony, refreshing and elegant, perhaps a bit weak in projection and longevity, but when it comes to that, there’s no better remedy than applying more. Unfortunately, the new reformulation is very different and leaves much to be desired; it smells like that synthetic scent found in new fragrances.

  • I treasure a 2008 bottle of this great flanker like gold. In this Homme Sport, they removed the iris, but it still carries the DNA of the original, making it a textbook example of a flanker: different for other occasions but born from the same idea. It is well-orchestrated. The opening is bright with a very refreshing ginger, as if freshly peeled. The grapefruit and elemi duo marks its personality, making it original, shifting from an invigorating start with false impressions of sport to a resinous, woody dry-down, very aromatic, with hints of lavender and rosemary, where the citrus power feels heavy. It’s semi-formal, perfect for spring and summer evenings. Very similar to the 2012 Sport, although I preferred this one. Can something be fresh, clean and citrusy yet heavy, original, last for hours and have huge sillage? The great virtue is that it can. A perfect option to take a step further in this type of aroma. 8/10.

  • One of Dior’s finest surprises. I own several citrus colognes, but this first version of DHS is in a league of its own. Without exaggeration, Dior is the finest maker of this fragrance. It opens with a burst of top-quality citrus, incredibly fresh and aromatic. It gives me a real energy boost, a scent that brings joy and inspiration. It’s perfect for catching people’s attention. The ginger adds a stimulating top note, and the citrus is truly excellent; here, I do sense a lovely sandalwood… without exaggeration, for me it’s quite like a life elixir, producing very satisfying reactions. It was the first perfume my mother ever gave me, and those details are unforgettable, which is why I’ll always wear it. It’s very suitable for more summer occasions; on hot days it really refreshes and revitalises you. It’s exquisite after training or running on the beach in the morning, simply giving you energy and lifting you like no other fragrance.

One of Dior’s best surprises. I have very few citrus scents in my collection, but this original version is in a league of its own. Without exaggeration, Dior is the best at this scent. It begins with a burst of fresh citrus, very airy and aromatic. It gives me energy, brings pleasure and inspires. It’s excellent for drawing attention. The ginger is stimulating and the citrus notes are top-tier, plus I sense a beautiful sandalwood. For me, it’s like an elixir of life; I adore it. It was my mother’s first perfume gift, an unforgettable gesture, so I will always wear it. Ideal for summer; on hot days it refreshes and revitalises. It’s exquisite after training or running on the beach in the morning, giving you energy and lifting you like nothing else.

  • Elegant with a citrus opening, but after half an hour it becomes fresh and slightly sweet. The bottle is divine! A delicious fragrance. I have many scents for spring and summer, but this is one of my favourite premium picks from the range, and I’ve fallen in love with this beautiful aroma. MiaSanMia

  • Elegant with a citrus opening, but after half an hour it settles into a fresh, slightly sweet scent. The bottle is divine; it’s a truly delicious fragrance. I own many fragrances for spring and summer, but this is one of my favourite premium scents, and I’m completely in love. MiaSanMia.

  • A bit disappointing; I expected something else. It sounds a bit forced and artificial. The citrus note pairs with a spicy touch of ginger and elemi, and there’s also wood, probably from the vetiver. It’s not my perfume, but it lasts a long time and doesn’t shout.

  • I tried it recently and the projection is odd: sometimes it smells like Raid lemon (that Mexican product) and other times like creamy dessert lemon. It’s not bad, but it didn’t convince me, so I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind. It’s better suited to warm or temperate climates.

  • I still have the small bottle my grandfather gave me in 2009, and it still smells of freshly cut lemons, which is strange.
