Oud Sublime by Demolished

Dark nobility, excellent perfume I have been exploring niche houses from Argentina and, within the SAGA discovery set from Demolished, Oud Sublime was the perfume that struck me the most. Not only did I like it. It stayed in my mind like a complete scene. In fact, it is not only my favourite from the house, but it went straight into the top of my entire collection. I perceive it as a dark, elegant and very serious oud, with a dry rose that does not go for luminous romance, but for something more dramatic, almost tragic. I also get a sensation of ink, deep wood, fine leather and a formal darkness that does not try to please easily, but that once it connects with you becomes totally addictive. For me it is almost the perfume of a masculine gothic darkness. Not from an adolescent or theatrical place, but from a dark sensuality with elegance. It has desire, mystery and presence, but all contained within a serious, nocturnal and refined structure. I wore it recently on a winter night in Buenos Aires to go to a symphony. I was wearing a suede jacket, black shirt, black trousers, boots and a wine-coloured jumper. There I perfectly understood its place. It is not a casual perfume nor for light use. It is a fragrance to wear with intention. Between the outfit, the weather and the context, Oud Sublime accentuated a very particular presence. It made me feel a serious, elegant and reserved masculine authority. Something in that combination generated respect. I noticed it in the treatment by the hall staff, in the exchange with other spectators and also in how the perfume marked my aura without needing to impose itself loudly. But it is not only seriousness. It also has a mature sensual side. Some adult women seemed to perceive the scent with interest, and that confirmed something important to me. This perfume not only delights me as a personal experience, I have even been wearing it at home simply to enjoy it, but with the right outfit and a certain attitude it can become an incredible aesthetic complement. In my imagination it has something of an old salon, polished wood, heavy curtains, dark wine, dried flowers and a low conversation where nothing is said completely. It is not a loud or aggressive oud. It is a classy, introspective, sophisticated and nocturnal oud. I would not recommend it as a blind buy for just anyone. You have to enjoy balsamic oud, dark rose, woody facets, dryness and a certain drama. But if that world attracts you, this perfume is a gem. For me Oud Sublime smells of dark elegance, dry rose, ink, noble wood and silent masculine sensuality. It accompanies the presence of a man who does not need to call attention to be noticed.
