Reflections: Cold Mineral Air Set Against Smoke and Leather
Reflections by Benneviento is a unisex fragrance introduced in 2025. It explores the pull between glacial freshness and a darker, animalic warmth.
The first impression is of a stark, wintry cityscape, which gradually becomes more intimate, smoky and skin-like.
At the top, ice, ozonic notes, snow and concrete create a fresh, mineral accord. Clean but chilly rather than sparkling, it recalls still air and cold stone.
Through the middle, lily of the valley, jasmine and iris appear alongside cigarette. The white flowers remain luminous yet restrained, while iris lends a powdery, faintly violet softness. The cool tobacco note adds a dry, metropolitan line.
Underneath, leather, smoke, ash, cashmere wood, musk, animal notes and patchouli build a denser foundation. The warmth here is muted, like embers answering the opening frost.
Fresh, ozonic brightness, white floral, leather and iris therefore unfold over a woody, smoky trail. The character is deliberately contrasted — reserved at the outset, fuller and more personal afterwards.
It will appeal to those who favour cool, mineral and smoky compositions with measured white flowers and an animalic leather dry-down. One for admirers of urban texture and olfactory chiaroscuro.
Reflections leaves the impression of a winter's day in the city closing beside the fire — distant to begin with, increasingly human in the later stages.
