At the outset there are cypress, melon, grapefruit and bergamot. The cypress lends a dry, resinous greenness, the grapefruit and bergamot supply brightness, and the melon lends an aqueous sweetness.
Through the middle, ginger, juniper, rosemary and cardamom come forward. Juniper and rosemary favour the aromatic-herbal register, while ginger with cardamom offers a cool, peppery warmth.
