Spicy Star Anise by Dossier is an aromatic spicy fragrance for men. The idea is a bright, spiced lift that gradually gives way to a warmer, earthier depth.
Pink pepper, pineapple, star anise and cardamom form the top. Lavender, nutmeg and clove follow in the heart, with oakmoss, amber, vetiver and patchouli underneath.
At first it smells fresh and peppered. Pink pepper offers dry brightness, cardamom lends a green, slightly chilled spice, and star anise is immediately recognisable with its sweet anisic tone.
The pineapple note supplies juiciness rather than an exotic feel. It plumps up the spices and stops the opening from feeling too parched, keeping everything buoyant.
The heart is tidied by lavender, with its neat, traditionally masculine aromatic quality. Nutmeg brings a mellow, creamy warmth, and clove thickens the spiced character towards something fuller.
