MELANIA from Artificium is a Woody Oriental made for women and men alike. Created by nose Günter Schramm, it arrived in 2026.
The scent contrasts a crisp, herbal lift at the start with a mellow amber and balsam warmth underneath, finished with a soft powdery veil.
Bergamot and lime open alongside lavender, angelica root and saffron. The citrus feels bright, the lavender trim and herbal, while saffron contributes a dry spiced note.
At its centre, sandalwood, jasmine, rose, iris, patchouli and cinnamon are layered. White flowers lend clarity, iris lends a powdery calm, cinnamon a gentle heat, resting on creamy sandalwood with earthy patchouli beneath.
The dry-down of vanilla, musk, amber, cedarwood, tonka bean and Peru balsam is the fullest part. Sweetness and resin are kept in check by the cedar and a clean musk that smooths the edges.
Taken as a whole, the fragrance is ambery, woody, musky and balsamic, touched by warm spice, lavender, white flowers, iris and cinnamon. Its powdery character neatly joins the floral middle to the oriental foundation.
It will appeal to wearers who favour shared woody orientals, fresh at first then warmly sweet, where lavender, iris and amber are to the fore.
