It is very long-lasting with medium projection. In my opinion, the age of this fragrance is for those over 40, although if you love pine and cypress, buy it without hesitation, because it smells exactly like that with a touch of sage and vetiver. It is a fine woody-soapy style. If you can get it at a good price, it is definitely worth it.
At first, outdoors, I struggled to identify the individual notes… Just a pleasant green scent, with hints of my beloved Aqva pour Homme. Perhaps due to being in a recycled shower gel. At a good price, it can be a serious and professional perfume for indoors or heat. What surprised me is that, despite being a Blue Mediterranean with little projection, I could smell it on my skin 10 hours later. Something strange.
Cipresso di Toscana is green, aromatic, and woody. The opening is fresh and green, highlighting the basil and a sort of mint. After a few minutes, the woods and the piney notes emerge: cypress, rosemary, and pine, which make me imagine a high mountain forest. There are also spicy notes, but as supporting players. It is the least citrusy in the blue line, but fresh and wood-oriented. It is for daily use in any season, probably for mature people, and could be a signature for lovers of green and woody scents. The longevity on me was 8 hours, with good projection for the first hour and then fading. I liked it; it reminded me of the new Polo Cologne Intense for its green and aromatic notes. I recommend trying it before buying blind.
It is true that it has something of Floris 1962 and a little of Italian Cypress. The opening is fresh, although for me the sage, rosemary, and cypress are the protagonists. It doesn’t evolve much, but it’s great as it is. In the end, it leaves a well-crafted aroma with vetiver, cypress, lavender, and perhaps moss if you try hard enough. That final phase is glorious. The only flaw is that it doesn’t project much: perhaps a metre for 1 or 2 hours, and then 6 or 8 hours clinging to the skin. Is it worth the cost? Definitely yes. It’s not easy for cypress or pine not to sound like floor air freshener. In my opinion, it is the most versatile in the Blue Mediterranean collection; you can use it all year round, though better during the day.
Masculine to the max. It smells like an elegant shaving foam with that metallic and mentholated touch of the classics. It’s rare that it doesn’t remind me so much of cypress as Encre Noire does, nor of pine, but rather of basil and, even if it’s not there, of a soft star anise. It’s also soapy, a very fine soap. It suits formal fragrances for those over 35. It brings to mind a ‘cold’ Old Spice without the warm spices, and a bit of Egoiste Platinum for its freshness and metallic notes. It doesn’t smell exactly like any other, but has similarities. I probably wouldn’t buy it at the normal price, but I found a bargain on Amazon (2022 batch) and it was a must-buy.
If I could name it, it smells like a summer day in the countryside with cypresses in the breeze, that lovely resinous wood scent. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys nature in summer, regardless of age. I’d recommend it for the olfactory experience, though it’s a curious scent that won’t appeal to everyone.
If I could explain it, it smells like a summer in the countryside with cypresses in the breeze and that typical woody resin. I love its age, as it isn’t for everyone, but for those who enjoy nature in summer. I recommend it for the olfactory experience; it’s a curious scent, but generally pleasant.
It should be called Cardamom, as that’s what dominates from the very first moment; I don’t detect the cypress I was so hoping for.
It should be called Cardamom, because from the very first second it is what dominates; the cypress that was so heavily advertised, I don’t notice it.
