I just went to Penhaligon’s to try it and they gifted me a 7 ml decant. It is a very good fragrance, sweet but not cloying, ideal even at 34 degrees. The plum note stands out and leaves a very accomplished aroma. I recommend giving it a sniff; the trail is moderate and the longevity is around 8 hours.

A hidden gem from the house that is well worth picking up. If you enjoyed Cairo or Constantinopla, AlUla will not leave you indifferent. It opens spicy, loaded with cardamom and black pepper, with an incense that lingers until it fades. Then comes a plum note, somewhere between a prune and a juicy, dark, smoky plum. Tobacco adds texture and saffron a spiced, almost metallic touch that transports you to an oasis. When the spices settle, a shy vanilla emerges, still a little resentful, with turmeric. Like its sister Cairo, it lasts longer than it trails: up to 8/9 hours on skin and the smoky vanilla on clothes can accompany you for days (without intensity). The trail is moderate; you will notice it. The quality of this house is incredible. I bought it blind knowing it is a profile I like, but I do not recommend it to everyone. You must enjoy spicy and dry scents.
