An elixir combining the strength of plum with a base of benzoin resins, but not a fresh plum, rather a prune, a Christmas plum, autumnal/winter. Well-balanced and just sweetness, with a good dose of amber in the heart. Quite linear, medium projection. Light floral touches; I don’t sense the patchouli. It might sound odd, but it reminded me of the smell of Activia cereal yoghurts. Original and distinct. It’s not my favourite from the line, but I think this brand is undervalued. Its magic lies in combining the East with the West: exquisite, fine, and elegant perfumery, without falling into the overused rose+saffron combo or the foul-smelling oud that smells like a souk and camel skins dried in the sun, which, if they fall on your clothes, you can’t get off.
A beautiful fragrance inspired by the traditional dagger of Oman and the symbol on its flag: the khanjar. Opens with plum and mandarin, but nothing juicy or fresh; rather dry, bitter, and medicinal, like dried plums. The whole thing is super warm; that resinous sweetness of the benzoin in perfect balance with the creaminess of the orris, ylang-ylang, and vanilla. I highlight the labdanum note, which adds all the magic: exceptional complexity, sometimes woody, fruity, and ambered. It’s markedly oriental, but unlike others, it leans more towards the sweet than the spiced. I recommend it if you enjoy fragrances like Desert Suave by Liquides Imaginaires or Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford. Sweet and deep, it has become one of my favourites for autumn.
Very spiced, resinous, and warm, with a powdery touch from the orris, slightly smoky, and patchouli in the base. I sense a tobacco leaf note not listed. As the hours pass, it settles close to the skin with an avoindilled amber and a sublime labdanum. It’s cosy, drier than sweet, dominated by the resinous notes, and totally unisex. The sillage is moderate at first and soft afterwards, lasting over 10 hours. I agree with @nedia about the Activia cereal yoghurt reminiscences at the start, but the scent is very pleasant to me. Despite liking it a lot, it hasn’t completely won me over, so I’m not adding it to my collection. Scent 7/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 7/10, Value for money 5.5/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? No.
A little treasure, super rich, sweet, and juicy thanks to that dense, dark plum blending with an amber, woody, and balsamic base. On my skin, I don’t detect any florals, but the dry-down is warm, muuuuy resinous, and smoky… in short, a delicious amber. Perhaps this makes you think of other perfumes, but this one is unique and unprecedented. Unisex, autumnal-winter scent with infinite longevity and a wide sillage. I’ve fallen in love with it; it’s one of my favourites from the house.
