Amber Romance by Victoria's Secret

Why do they call it Amber Romance if amber is what it has least of?? And what happened to the previous Amber Romance, which was beautiful? Did they discontinue it or do both exist with different bottles? The previous one, and I knew the version from the late 90s and early 2000s, was a very well-done combination of amber and vanilla, it didn’t smell like “custard”, it wasn’t gourmand, like none of the VS body mists from that era, which, although fruity and very sweet, weren’t an edible sweet and fruity. Well, company decisions one will never understand, giving one perfume’s name to another, which keeps none of its notes and even less the one that gives it its name…

I love it, it’s a beautiful fragrance, I bought it for the first time in summer when I was 13, it reminds me a lot of that time, I wish I could find a perfume that smells the same, since this one being a body mist doesn’t have the best longevity. Indeed, it smells like whipped cream (or custard, pastry cream, whatever it’s called) you can feel the soft vanilla but I don’t detect any cherry at all. Even so I love it.

I bought it because I wanted something a little dressier for going out at night and I liked the choice!! I had heard it was one of the sweetest from VS, however, I don’t think it beats Bare Vanilla or Coconut Passion, which aren’t really my favourites. It has vanilla notes without being cloying or causing that headache that vanilla scent leaves. I recommend it!

I agree with the previous comment, the first spray gave me an absolute amber smell, which I don’t understand why it’s not in its notes, and then a very strong woody smell, from the sandalwood, at first it seemed like a strong scent like La Vie Est Belle or Good Girl to me, but since it’s a body mist, it settles quickly and a somewhat sweet and warm scent remains.

It’s a lovely, sweet body splash, which to my nose smells like burnt sugar for caramel (like the one made for homemade flan). I also sense a citrusy part that may be from the declared cherry, since its packaging only says “deep amber, sugar kisses, chasing sunsets.” It’s lovely, it’s sweet and it’s basic in my opinion. As a body splash it does its job very well. Although I like the scent, I wouldn’t buy it again because I feel it says nothing more than “sweet”

Amber Romance is a body mist with incredible longevity, about 6-7 hours, but its scent, hmm, I don’t fully like it, to me it smells clean but a little sweet, and it’s not at all cloying, but in short it’s an autumn body mist, and it’s honestly a bit more mature than what VS usually makes, but not in a bad way, it’s deeper and gives a sense of calm. It’s for both day and night. Conclusion: Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 20/10 (brilliant for a body mist) Projection: 10/10

It smells lovely, I use it after having a shower or before bed.

Baby wipes but with amber, I was really excited about its custard and cherry notes but I was very disappointed, I feel it’s more for an older lady, the only thing I liked was the dry down which is a little sweet. It’s not such a sweet perfume, it’s lighter and warm, I see it working for autumn and daytime, but there are better body mists than this one. 4/10

Fragrance that reminds me so much of Lolita Lempicka Eau de parfum because of that cherry they share. It is nothing like Estée Lauder’s Intuition as stated in the comparison… not even close!… I’m clarifying this because I bought this body mist guided by that comparison. I’ve had both versions of Intuition (the 2000 one by Alberto Morillas and the 2015 one)… and this Victoria’s Secret fragrance doesn’t remind you of it. However, it very much reminds you of that first version of the Lolita Lempicka perfume. I find this fragrance ideal for autumn and winter. It’s not fresh at all like other body mists from the same brand. This one is very sweet and vanilla-like, with a creamy touch, and with cherry as the star. A cherry that reminds you more of sweets than natural fruit.

I think it is very similar to Natura’s Cumaru, but softer and more wearable. I almost bought it, it reminded me of something, and Cumaru was really lovely but I found it very strong, anyway between a soft version of Cumaru, I would choose Velvet Petals Noir, which smells like soft little chocolate. But Amber is lovely too. Similar in sweetness. And well I didn’t buy Amber because I felt too much of it could make me feel dizzy.

It’s the best Victoria’s Secret body mist, it smells very warm, sweet without being cloying.

A scent that delivers on what it promises, its notes are very well distributed and blended, it’s a very delicious scent. Although at first you can smell the amber, after about 10/15 minutes you start to notice the vanilla and that creamy touch that characterises it, that’s when you can appreciate all its notes evenly. It’s a fragrance I would wear in autumn, this season being the personality it evokes. If I had to describe it in a few words, it would be: sophistication, femininity, calm, nostalgia and maturity. I bought it blind to give to my mum, since she likes vanilla and woody scents. And she was surprised at how rich and exclusive it is, also delighted with the creamy and cherry-like scent it has. And don’t misunderstand the word “maturity”, it’s not a fragrance characteristic of an “elderly person” so to speak, but rather it evokes sophistication, calm and wisdom. Its scent takes me to a library with warm light, drinking a coffee and reading a good book. Or, ideal to wear after a relaxing bath, after a long day, with freshly made bed sheets. Although it’s a strong scent, it’s not cloying and certainly not synthetic at all. If you’re interested in this fragrance but hesitate to buy it, I think it’s ideal for those who want to move away from more teenage and youthful scents, like Pure Seduction or Love Spell, scents that I love and own, but evoke more school or university times. This one, on the other hand, has a different style, it reminds me of Julia Roberts or Nicole Kidman. I know, I’m very detail-oriented about what certain scents convey, but I hope this review helps those interested in getting it and haven’t tried it yet. If you identify more with fruity/floral and like youthful fragrances, I think you should try this one first. Anyway, my rating for this scent is 10/10

It’s a strong yet sweet and warm scent. I feel the amber scent is the most noticeable as the name suggests, but that sandalwood base gives it a special touch. My friend says it smells like an old lady, but to me it’s a very lovely and pleasant scent.

I don’t understand the praise; I bought both the lotion and the mist, and they smell like 2010—old and synthetic. I can detect the cherry, but it’s disappointing, especially compared to Lush or Rio de Janeiro’s newer mists; there’s no comparison. It smells like a girl from the 2000s. A friend tried the Coconut Passion and said it smelled of salt to her, and indeed, that’s exactly what it smells like to me.
