Fragrance friends: I analyse this beauty, very similar to Pure Malt by Mugler, where Ajmal’s small differences, such as the iris and the powdery talc note, make the big difference. It’s like an Austrian symphony playing the 1812 Overture; it’s not easy to miss the mark against a rival like Mugler, but Ajmal surpasses it in ostentatious quality. The notes are fine silk that caresses you from the very first second, enveloping everything like a passionate kiss. An olfactory poem that takes you to a place where you don’t want to leave, a living fragrance that breathes its own beauty. Precious woods, amber, apple, patchouli, cardamomo, and pepper achieve maximum aromatic expression. Ajmal is a reliable house; the W collection combines exotic woods with mastery. A niche work of art, powerful and exquisite, deserving to be valued as one of the best in history. A fragrance for connoisseurs. Scent: 11/10, Projection: Very good, Longevity: 8-10h. I bought this Amber Wood blind after falling in love with its sibling, Incense Wood, and what a winner it was. I thought it was risky to repeat with an Arabian house, so I opted for the 50ml to mitigate potential damage, but it turned out to be the worst decision of all because it is pure bliss. It opens with an explosive green apple, pepper, lavender, and cardamomo; it sounds like Layton but matches its quality while evolving into something more ambered and sweet without losing that apple note until it fades. Ajmal’s W line is lightyears ahead of the norm. Strong projection at first, then a personal bubble. Versatile, elegant, and perfect for anyone who wants it, a proper beast of a fragrance.

Thanks to Raúl, a friend living in the Emirates, who gifted me a decant and told me I would love it. The next day I understood nothing; it smelled different from usual, more bitter and soft. The magic lies in that spiced oriental woody base. Months later, during lockdown, I relearned how to smell: the cedar smells freshly sawn, the spices freshly added. The opening is confusing, but after an hour and a half it explodes into woods and amber lasting 8-10 hours with just a few sprays. Its secret is quality and assembly. Buy blind for lovers of oriental scents who want to enjoy without being intrusive. Imagine St Sophia or the streets of Istanbul. If you love Acqua di Gio or One Million, stay away.

Greetings from RD: I’m using the fragrance for the third time and writing this while smelling it. WAOOO. The exquisiteness and development are magical. Incredible quality and a soft evolution. I bought it blind on recommendation and it was a total hit. Scent: 11/10, Sillage: 9/10, Longevity: 9/10.

I haven’t worn it much, but I believe it substitutes Alexandria II well. Unlike Xerjoff, here the talc-dusted iris is very interesting. Although Alexandria remains superior in quality and longevity, this version is cleaner and less loud, perhaps more interesting for some.
