  It caught me slightly off guard, hehe. The initial blast made me cough twice. It feels very natural and dense: amber, resins, a touch of patchouli, and perhaps a hint of vanilla to soften it. It’s not as resinous as Grand Soir, nor as cloyingly amber as Ambre Tabac, nor as burnt as Amber Absolute; it kind of has a bit of everything. Lately, I’ve been out less, so I’ve been judging indoor performance, which is always better than outdoors. Yesterday I wore it for hours at a trade fair full of perfumers; people said nice things, but with the scent lingering in the air and lacking context, it’s hard to tell if the smell comes from a man or a woman. With that difficulty in smelling myself, though, I did get a few whiffs occasionally. The point is, by six hours, when I went back home to the room where I applied it, I started smelling it more intensely, hehe. As I usually perfume the back of my neck (obviously ignoring the jokes) and went to bed, it still smelled good with the pillowcase rubbing against my skin. All this to say, it seems to last many hours, but I’m not sure how it will project outdoors. I’d bet it wouldn’t be overpowering, but who knows, jj. As I’m not good-looking and no one gives me compliments… 😛 Anyway, the sensation of the scent is very, very good, perhaps one of the best I’ve smelled in a while.
