The composition favours contrast: a lively fruity-aromatic introduction giving way to a richer, sweeter amber-woody depth.
The opening features rum, passion fruit, bergamot and geranium. Boozy rum is freshened by tropical fruit and bergamot zest, while geranium lends a leafy, aromatic sharpness.
At its centre lie patchouli, cinnamon, leather and rose. Cinnamon provides dry spice, patchouli an earthy anchor, and the leather-rose accord blends supple animalic character with floral polish.
The drydown brings caramel, vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood, labdanum, grey amber and musk. Sweet gourmand notes settle over creamy sandalwood, balsamic labdanum and a soft, faintly powdery musk.
Overall the perfume moves from citrus-spiced freshness towards a floral-leather middle and finally an amber, musky woodiness with a gentle animalic trace. It feels substantial and comforting rather than sheer.
It will suit wearers who favour unisex woody orientals with leather, cinnamon-tinged rose and a caramel and vanilla base, and who enjoy a brighter aromatic lead-in.
Amplify offers a clear progression from rum and citrus sparkle through leathered rose to tonka, sandalwood and musk. A warm, well-structured oriental for the evening.
