  The opening is totally ‘Montale’, with those mineral and wet accords that make you feel oriental and spicy scents without being aggressive. It’s creamy due to the sandalwood and the amber base which gives it a slightly sweet touch. It reminds me a bit of Tom Ford’s Oud Wood. Regarding longevity, I can’t say much as it’s the first test, but being Montale, it easily reaches 10-12 hours. It projects very well and two people already gave me compliments. I’m really thinking about buying the full bottle. Truly excellent aroma, elegant and timeless; I think it’s an excellent recommendation for dipping into niche and something more oriental. Recommended.

  At first, I sensed leather and black pepper. After many hours, musk, woods, and sandalwood emerged. I regret not making a more detailed analysis. The trail, using almost the entire sample, went from heavy to moderate, surpassing 12 hours. I think those who like the Gucci Guilty Absolute style might find it interesting (I’m not saying they’re the same, but there’s something similar). I see it for winter or cold seasons, perhaps more suited for night.

  No one talks about it, but to me, it was a delight. What I notice most is black pepper with leather, teak, and very earthy patchouli. The musk is present but not ‘clean’; it’s very ‘dirty’ due to the dominant notes. I think it’s impeccable for autumn and winter, but also for spring/summer if it’s late/night and the weather is mild. Performance is top-tier Montale: excellent. It lasts 8 hours with strong projection for the first 2-3 hours at arm’s length. THE TRAIL… ANOTHER LEVEL. I’ve received many compliments; it smells delicious in the air, like a ‘tough guy’. Excellent perfume.

  My first Montale, bought blindly based on the notes and what I read. This time, I didn’t get it right for myself, but I’ll keep giving it a chance; perhaps I just don’t understand it yet. The opening smells heavy; I don’t recall anything similar and my nose can’t dissect it. The drydown becomes more pleasant. The longevity is moderate; perhaps it won’t even smell on me, let alone last all day. I hope they didn’t sell me an imitation at perfumeries.com, as everyone speaks wonders of Montale’s performance.

  Greetings from Colombia, perfume collector. Here, we always look for note associations. It’s hard not to recall scents when you’re a fanatic. This Montale smells very much like No Limits by Philip Plein; I think they copied the accord from this 2010 release for their 2020 version. Excellent aroma, strong, vibrating with a leather type similar to Gucci Absolute but softer. Performance is 10 hours. For outings or meetings, people will surely ask or praise you. A very good fragrance, as is everything from Montale.

  My first foray into niche and the quality is top-notch. This is rare for Montale: it lasts 6 hours, especially due to its green character. It starts with a soft leather note, but the patchouli hits hard. After 30 minutes, it settles and reveals that animalic musk which confuses me, as I associate it with cleanliness. It’s not for me; I’m not the ‘gentleman’ type, but if you’re over 35 with an old soul, you might enjoy it. It sticks well to clothes, not so much to skin. In short: an elegant, gentlemanly fragrance. I prefer the Aoud Leather from the house, which is easier to wear, lasts longer, and projects a ‘tough guy’ aura.
