Chocolate Queen by Navitus Parfums is a fragrance from the olfactive family for men and women. Launched in 2024, this composition is signed by nose Bertrand Duchaufour. The top notes unfold with dulce de leche, dark chocolate, and hazelnut; the heart reveals bitter almond, Baileys Irish cream, caramel, and chocolate fudge; while the base settles on a vanilla absolute, praliné, amberwood, and sandalwood.

Chocolate Queen opens with a cloud of cocoa that explodes into textures: first the warm dust rising into the air, then the creaminess of melted Nutella on the skin like a warm icing. It’s a pastry opening that invites a bite. Soon it moves to the heart, where the cocoa blends with a stream of Baileys and a nut frosting bathed in caramel. Everything melts into layers of toasted nuts, vanilla, and baked dough. At first, I admitted I didn’t feel it was ‘mine’, as that dessert vibe usually puts me off, but the perfume takes an unexpected turn: the pastry steps back and soft woods and a vanilla amber enter, adding mystery. In its dry-down, the sweetness is nuanced, becoming drier and less creamy, moving from dessert to perfume. It evokes a lady with a firm step and fitted gloves entering a fine patisserie to ensure the best cakes don’t escape. That, not an anxious little girl, is what makes it interesting.
Chocolate Queen begins with a cloud of cocoa that explodes into all its facets: first the dust falling on the bakery table and rising in warm particles to the nose; then comes the creaminess of Nutella, melting with the skin like a warm icing. It’s a pastry opening, with texture and heat, that invites a bite. Shortly after, it moves to the heart and becomes richer and more indulgent. The cocoa receives a stream of Baileys and a frosting of caramel-dipped nuts is placed on top. Everything melts into layers: toasted nuts, vanilla cream, soft liquor, and baked chocolate dough…🤤 Up to here, I admit Chocolate Queen would be a gourmand that wouldn’t quite be ‘mine’. I adore the sensory experience of this category, but that prolonged pastry vibe usually steers away from what I seek. However, as it progresses, Chocolate Queen takes an unexpected turn. The pastry steps back a pace and lets in soft woods and a vanilla amber that add warmth and mystery. A liquor note, more of a suggestion than a lead, elevates the composition from the shadows. In the dry-down, the pastry idea remains, but it becomes drier, less creamy, more amber; in short, less dessert and more perfume. The sweetness is nuanced and the density breathes. This perfume recreates in my mind the image of a lady who, with a determined step and freshly fitted gloves, crosses the threshold of a fine patisserie to ensure that the best cakes, those delicate ones with thick cream, serious cocoa, and toasted almonds, don’t escape to other hands… That it evokes that woman and not a little girl anxiously waiting for her sweet shop to open is precisely what makes this perfume interesting.
To me, it’s a Black Phantom unisex: the opening smells quite feminine, but the dry-down is brutal. The longevity and projection are average.

It’s the best gourmand I’ve discovered this year. Fine chocolate. ❤️🔥
I was left in shock. I was looking forward to it after so many reviews and fell in love at first sight, but upon arrival, it was a total failure for me. It smells like a Tootsie Roll at first, then mixes with that synthetic and burnt scent of Pink Sugar. Furthermore, it lasts very little and projects nothing. Not for me.
After being disappointed by Angel Muse, which smelled like Nutella on my skin, and reading contradictory reviews about Chocolate Queen, I decided to take a risk and buy it blindly with the Miel Extase offer. What a success! Chocolate Queen is everything I dreamed of: dark chocolate at the start, then dulce de leche, caramel, Baileys, vanilla, and creaminess. It’s an incredible gourmand without being childish or cloying. For me, it’s not excessively spicy; the spicy note is just a delicate counterweight. Although it’s for sweet lovers, it can be unisex, leaning towards the feminine side. Abstain if you don’t like gourmands. It has a high trail and lasts over 12 hours; it’s one of my favourite chocolate scents. So far, my two Navitus perfumes have been unbeatable. I wish they had better distribution in Europe to avoid customs costs. In summary: congratulations Gabby. Scent 8.5/10, Longevity 10/10, Trail 8/10, Value for money 8/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 8.5/10. Would I buy again? Yes.

As a fan of Gabby Loves Perfumes and the gourmand genre, I had to get this Chocolate Queen that she made with Navitus. I bought it after trying the Dolce Passione from Pantheon Roma, and although they are very similar, this one has much more power and projection, so I love the scent. Note: for my novice nose, I don’t notice the edible chocolate like when you eat it; for me, it’s a sweet, dark, and creamy blend. What I feel most are the notes of Baileys, praline, and spices, I think cinnamon, even though it’s not listed. Everything has been exquisite so far. I’ve read that letting it macerate (a new concept for me) improves it greatly, so I’ll wait a few months and edit the review to see if I notice any changes. For now, I’m delighted with the purchase.

Only that, with my novice nose, I don’t sense the edible chocolate like when you eat it; for me, it’s a sweet, dark, and creamy blend where notes of Baileys, praline, and spices stand out, perhaps cinnamon, even though it’s not listed.
