I understand it recalls Acqua di Gio, but it’s a world apart. It shares that citrusy, marine, fresh vibe, though here the salty note makes the difference. On the opening, I detect more rosemary, giving it a special aromatic touch. The evolution isn’t abrupt; it maintains its freshness while adding calm and elegance with woody and soapy notes, rounding off the entire development. It’s a sober and well-made choice, perfect for summer or sunny days in spring and autumn. The salty note keeps it away from being too cold. Very versatile for the office or going out, with a performance of 5/6 hours.
I bought the 50ml to try it out and regret not keeping the 100ml. It’s an excellent perfume for sunny, fresh days, ideal for the beach or before jumping into the pool. The mandarin and lemon citrus dominate, and over time, the scent of mandarin peel emerges, nothing unpleasant. A very good option for summer.
Creamy lemon, seaweed, gin-tonic, and a slightly marine touch, fresh from the start. It’s a high-quality summery Italian coast, better than other acidic interpretations. I’ve grown tired of Versace Homme’s bergamot; this Acqua is more Mediterranean than Miyake’s creamy yuzu and I prefer it to some of Armani’s marine scents. I must try Bvlgari’s seaweed, but I suspect the raw materials here are superior. From the second hour, a subtle transition towards a floral and then musky tone doesn’t divert the main personality but rather generates addiction. It’s a sustained, sharp, and luminous note. The price is a bit above what’s desirable, but not outrageous. Its lower availability in physical stores gives it exclusivity, making it an elegant and less crowded alternative.
The perfect perfume. The best thing is to go to the boutique in Rome and buy it along with the full kit: deodorant, soap, etc. It’s very citrusy and fresh; you feel the refreshing sea breeze, and the rosemary gives it a masculine touch. It smells of gin; you feel like an Italian on the hottest day of the year, wearing linen trousers, a guayabera, sandals, and a Panama hat, sitting in an Amalfi bar drinking a well-chilled dry gin martini. Pros and cons: to get it, you have to go to Rome. So, few people in other countries will smell the same. Imagine a Bvlgari Aqva without that disgusting touch some describe as rotten egg, putrid seaweed, or in my case, a smell of rotten tooth root.
Bought directly from the Elba store in Italy… a fresh aroma with a sea breeze… brilliant for summer.
