About Concrete Vanille
Concrete Vanille: Vanilla, but Not as You Know It
Concrete Vanille is Raw Contrast’s new fragrance for men and women, launched in 2026 and belonging to the Oriental Vanilla olfactory family. The name hints at a meeting of opposites: sweet, familiar vanilla and an uncompromising, mineral-edged concrete accord.
Inside are Madagascar vanilla, tonka bean, galbanum, bitter orange, cumin, bran and a concrete note. Together they create a scent that shifts between fresh spice, aromatic greenery, creamy warmth and something almost architectural.
The fragrance holds back on conventional charm. Bitter orange and cumin supply a bright, gently peppery kick, while galbanum adds a green, resinous sharpness that prevents any drift into syrup.
Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean form a creamy and lightly powdery sweetness. Bran then steps in to complicate things: its dry, cereal texture cuts through the sweetness and leaves a more rugged impression.
That concrete note is the real signature. It introduces a strange, balsamic quality, with a faintly animalic undertone that makes the perfume feel less like dessert and more like a modernist sculpture.
The official accords are green, fresh spicy, mineral, aromatic, animalic and balsamic. That list captures the tension: the perfume is simultaneously warm and cool, smooth and abrasive, familiar and odd.
The first three ratings currently average 2.33 out of 5. With such a small sample it is hard to draw conclusions, but the figures suggest a divisive, thought-provoking fragrance rather than an easy crowd-pleaser.
Fans of unusual vanilla perfumes who appreciate mineral, spicy contrasts and are happy to give a challenging scent time to unfold.
Concrete Vanille is a study in contrasts: Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean sweetness are set against a raw, almost industrial mineral core. It is not a safe choice, but it is an original one—and for adventurous noses, that is exactly the point.
