There is something intriguingly contradictory about this scent: a spiced citrus start, a sumptuous flowery heart, and a resinous finish that feels almost smoky.
The first impression comes from black pepper, grapefruit and basil. It is brisk and tangy, with the pepper adding a subtle heat and the basil lending a fresh, almost herbal lift.
The floral core brings together labdanum, magnolia, red rose and azalea. These notes create a rich, darkly romantic centre, with the red rose standing out as the most expressive element.
At the base, benzoin and styrax form a soft, balsamic foundation. Rather than turning sweet, they give the perfume a gentle warmth and a slightly mysterious trail.
