Descripción

En Passant by Frederic Malle is a green floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2000, this composition was created by nose Olivia Giacobetti. The top notes present an aquatic freshness with cucumber, galbanum, basil, aromatic calamus, orange and banana; the heart reveals lilac, valley lily, jasmine, petit grain, honey, rose, carnation and sweet acacia; while the base notes settle on musk, wheat, cedar, amber, sandalwood and vanilla.

Beautiful. Fresh. Clean. Perfect in its simplicity. That is this perfume. It’s almost as if I didn’t want to perfume myself, but I wouldn’t resist doing so. A delicate yet noticeable scent. It’s so well blended that I practically can’t perceive the individual notes. Pity that it’s so expensive…

  • Olivia Giacobetti was inspired by the scent lilacs leave in the wind, and it’s really well executed. The only drawback is that more than a perfume, it feels like an EDT; it doesn’t last on my skin, leaving at most a subtle trace for an hour before I have to reapply. It’s a delicate aroma; I perceive the aquatic notes, the cucumber, and the lilacs, but my nose can’t appreciate the rest.

  • It seems to me that Olivia Giacobetti wanted to create a white lilac soliflore as a simple agreement, beautiful like when the scent of lilac hits you all at once with the wind. That’s why it feels soft yet very persistent. Starting with an aquatic opening due to the cucumber and marine notes, it’s a fresh, watery, and natural lilac, evolving into something more vaporous, dry, and airy, but always faithful to that minimalist concept. This lilac conveys luminosity, serenity, innocence, and tenderness. En Passant is pure sophistication. Rating: 8.

  • The definition of simplicity: En Passant. The opening is an intense note of lilac with an aquatic and fresh vibe (thanks to the cucumber), all over a base of white musk that gives it a powdery texture. It’s linear, with good performance, unisex (with a feminine tendency). It’s a perfume with few notes, without pretensions, that revives childhood memories. My mother, upon smelling it, was transported decades back to the garden of her home with lilacs. It’s simple, transparent, nostalgic, and cheerful. It doesn’t feel outdated, but rather suited to modern times without losing class. I would have liked a citrus touch in the opening to give it more life, as it could end up feeling monotonous. Good perfume, nothing more.

  • A beautiful lilac perfume, simple, delicate and natural, with no sharp edges. It’s velvety lilacs with an aquatic base and a slightly powdery touch. I believe its beauty lies in its simplicity and naturalness. I hoped it would surprise me, but it hasn’t; in fact, it reminded me a lot of other perfumes I’ve tried, especially Omnia Amethyste and Drop by Issey Miyake. I thought, given the price, it would be very similar but with incredible longevity… well, it isn’t. It projects barely on my skin, it’s very soft and lasts about 5-6 hours. It’s lovely, but in my opinion, it’s outrageously priced for what it offers.

  • A beautiful lilac perfume, simple, delicate, and without any sharp edges. Velvet lilacs with an aquatic base and a touch of talc. I believe its beauty lies in its simplicity and naturalness. I thought that for the price, it would have brutal performance… well, it doesn’t. It barely projects, it’s very soft, and lasts about 5-6 hours. • I agree it’s a soft, natural perfume; I think if it didn’t exist, I’d have had to invent it myself. That real lilac scent you notice when you pass by the flowers is delicious, with a hint of cucumber as if it were there just to preserve the bouquet. I’m happy with my bottle of lilacs for being able to tame their scent to my liking; I love it.

That real lilac scent that appears ‘as you pass’ near them is delicious, hydrated with cucumber that seems there just to preserve the bouquet. Happy with my bottle of lilacs for having tamed their scent to my liking. I love it.

I’m afraid the sales assistant gave me a decant that had expired. Pressing my nose to the skin, the most I can smell is a very faint ionised water.

I had it on my wishlist, but when I saw it in-store, the colour was much redder than I remembered. Once home, I compared it with a generous sample from the brand, and the difference is noticeable. I haven’t smelled it yet, but I fear the change isn’t just visual. I was planning to buy it, but now I’ll have to test it thoroughly again, especially given the price.
