  Nothing like what I expected. The opening is brutal, far too strong; it reminded me of Encre Noire and I thought I’d been duped. Then the volume drops and other nuances emerge. At first, it smells of cypress and green fig, not ripe fig. The dry down is impeccable: the cypress recedes to make way for a subtle floral note, followed by a citrus touch that gives it a summery feel and makes it wearable. It has a soapy, clean base. It’s very well made, but if you don’t like the Encre Noire-style green notes, it’s not for you. It’s masculine, versatile (less so in winter), lasts over 6-7 hours and smells great. The price is excellent. No surprises, it has everything I mentioned; it’s exactly what I was looking for. Interesting and good value.
