  Frollino Lavender is a very particular fragrance; looking at its note pyramid, its unique structure is immediately apparent. It transcends the merely unusual to become simply extraordinary. At first, using butter as a base note seems like a curious idea, especially combined with lavender, ironically approaching the gourmand trend (but much better conceived than the criticised Mon Guerlain). Instead of facets, it defines itself as a breakfast: it smells of burnt toast, melting butter over pancakes, honey tea, and a blackberry smoothie, all with the traditional lavender edge. Its texture is smooth yet intoxicating, very cosy (which is counterproductive because its trail and longevity are not extensive) and retains the typical boozy edge of the house. It is terribly interesting and natural, although it targets a scarce segment: it is homely, not sophisticated, and I don’t think it is suitable for heat or enclosed spaces. But how different and strange it is, what a difference it makes!
