Guimauve by Reminiscence is a 2013 creation belonging to the oriental vanilla olfactive family, designed for women. Its olfactive pyramid opens with top notes of almond, lavender, mint, rosemary, tangerine orange, orange, green notes, bergamot and marine notes; the heart reveals neroli, petit grain, jasmine and black pepper; while the base settles on vanilla, tonka bean, musk, sandalwood, patchouli, ambergris and cedar.

A successful perfume is one whose formula is as beautiful as the fragrance – François Demachy. Guimauve is SUBLIME. Beautiful, sophisticated, feminine and adorable. The box and the pink bottle with its ribbon bow and shiny cap seem to have stepped out of a fairy tale, worthy of Alice. The atomiser is brilliant; it distributes perfectly with a single pump. The scent is curious: it begins with lavender, jasmine, rosemary and mint, a warm herbal opening that made me fall in love with it instantly. Then come the almonds and tonka bean, and finally vanilla and candies that accompany me all day. The trail is elegant, neither loud nor shy. The longevity surprised me; I put it on at 2pm and it lasted until midnight; I felt like Cinderella. Curiously, the candy note doesn’t appear on the spec sheet. They say it’s the discontinued Mi Fa with changes. It’s my new signature fragrance, the scent I’ve been searching for since I was a child. Guimauve and I are complementary halves. I don’t want it to run out. Thank you, Fragrantica, for uniting two soulmates. Scent: 100/10, Longevity: 10/10, Sillage: 10/10
Everything is so cute: the pink box with gold lettering, the heavy little bottle with ochre ribbon, and the scent itself. I can’t quite distinguish all the notes, but the opening is potent and I recognise the citrus and almond. As it dries down, it becomes floral and almond-y, very linear. It brings back memories of the 90s, when my aunt used to give me Avon perfumes, those frosted glass angel ones. Low projection; after half an hour it’s skin scent, but it’s a treasure found blind. Thanks to the friend who sold it, I’m reliving a precious olfactory memory
At first, it’s absolute madness; it smells like a million things at once, but once it settles, puf!, it’s pure marshmallow. I was completely blown away the first time I smelled it; it’s super complex and you can really tell the quality. It’s sweet, citrusy, spiced, and even talc-like; it has everything 💗
