Happy in Bloom is a fresh, green floral from Clinique, the younger sibling of the classic Happy. I adore it; the name fits perfectly: the lily and aquatic notes deliver a refreshing hit at the outset, giving way to flowers and a very soft amber touch. It doesn’t have much sillage, making it ideal for summer, spring, or hot days; in the cold, it loses its edge on my skin. The longevity is short, so I wear it at home or before bed as it’s not overpowering. It leaves me with a sense of peace, like being near a garden by a lake with wet, green grass and fragrant blooms. It evokes a spring morning after a dewy night. Would I buy it again? Perhaps, but I’d like to try other things first. It reminds me of a note from vintage Kenzo Eau de Parfum, although they don’t share ingredients, they certainly share the style.
