  • Resinous oud opening with a fruity dry-down. Warning: zero heat tolerance; it becomes unbearable in the sun 😂. Do not buy without testing; the opening needs time to settle. Performance is beastly, lasting over 24 hours. Smells identical to Armaf Club de Nuit Oud and Lattafa Al Areeq (only at the start).

  • Supposedly it’s a clone of LV’s Ombre Nomade, but I see it more as a clone of Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather with creamy vanilla and tobacco. The most notable and curious thing, which doesn’t appear here to my nose, is the tobacco, which can be confused with amber, nutmeg, and sandalwood. I don’t highlight such a citrus opening as described in the notes, but citrus touches are noticeable. What remains on the skin after hours is a creamy, woody aroma with a tobacco/amber background. I give it 7/10. Longevity: 8.5/10. Projection: 8/10. Price: 10/10. Buying for €30 is a bargain for the quality; it doesn’t stand out above niches, but if you want to stand out in autumn/winter, it’s a very good choice. If you’ve been into perfumes for a while, I recommend buying blind to add it to your collection.

Impressive; without having heard of Ombre Nomade for its price, I would never say it’s such a bold fragrance. You must like oud to get the most out of it; otherwise, it’s a bomb. I showered, slept, and when I woke up, I still smelled it. An essential purchase from Alhambra.

  • A very accomplished scent, in the air it’s practically identical to LV’s Ombre Nomade, but I sold it because it’s so strong and long-lasting that two sprays guaranteed a headache.

  • Seems like a good purchase, excellent projection, noticeable from metres away, lasts well, especially on clothes. I bought it blind, but I knew what perfume I’d find because I tested Ombre Nomade on paper; if you like dark perfumes with leather, you’ll love this. It doesn’t evolve much, but for $40, I won’t ask for more, it’s an excellent buy. Don’t use it in heat as it can give you a headache. As a clone of Ombre Nomade, it seems very well made. The longevity on skin is 5 hours, but it has good projection. I read that it needs to mature to improve, so I’ll let you know in a month.

  • It worked out well, good purchase. Projection reaches metres and lasts a long time, especially on clothes. I bought it blind because I already knew Ombre Nomade on paper; if you like dark leather perfumes, this is for you. It doesn’t evolve much, but for £40 I ask for nothing more; it’s a bargain. Do not use in heat; it gives you headaches. As a clone of Ombre Nomade, it’s very well made. Lasts 5 hours on skin with good projection. They say it needs to mature to improve, so I’ll update in a month.

  • Unbearable scent, smells like bad incense, nothing like Ombre Nomade. Be careful not to spray more than 2 or 3 sprays; you’ll feel dizzy; it’s the definition of smelling strong.

  • It’s an unbearable smell, smells like bad incense, nothing like Ombre Nomade. Be careful not to spray more than 2 or 3 sprays, it’s a sea of scent, the definition of smelling strong.

The opening might scare you with that rough, dense leather scent, almost like petrol or tyres (but it hooks me 😁), before calming into a new car interior with incense-leather, mixed with woods, raspberries, and dark roses not listed on the bottle. Strong, dark, and warm aroma. Splendid but difficult; you need to know how to appreciate it. It’s invasive; people will look at you strangely, not for the shy. Beastly longevity, unisex. Try it slowly before buying.

At first, it might scare or repel due to the strong leather scent, a rough and dense one, until it confuses with fuel (though I like it) and even tyres. Gradually, it calms down, softens, and transforms into a beautiful new car interior, incense-leather, mixed with sweet notes of woods, raspberries, and dark roses, although the latter two aren’t on the official list. It’s a strong, dark, and warm aroma. Splendid. I love this profile. It’s a difficult fragrance; you need to know how to appreciate it. It’s invasive, people will turn to look, so I don’t think it’s for the shy. Beastly performance. Unisex. I recommend trying and evaluating calmly before buying.

I have a decant of Ombre Nomade and have just ordered Noir to compare. It’s a great dupe, almost identical. Perhaps slightly less raspberry, but that opening note fades quickly, so it’s barely noticeable unless tested side by side. The dry-down is the same. They say expert noses can detect the synthetic quality of Jean Lowe, but in blind tests, even experts can’t tell the difference between dupes and originals; the brand changes the perception. Here, blindfolded, the dupe passes as the original. It’s incense, oud, rose, raspberry, and saffron. Rich, masculine, but heavy and not very versatile. Ideal for going out at night, walking in the woods, or cold climates. In other words, whether you choose the original or the dupe, few will get a whiff as it can be overwhelming. Given the price of Ombre Nomade, I recommend buying Noir and nobody will know the difference. If you’re unsure, buy a 1ml decant of ON first, then the Noir; with current prices, it works out almost the same. If you don’t like oud or oriental scents, neither will likely suit you.

  • It sounds like a men’s perfume. Oud, incense, saffron. Nothing sweet or alcoholic, more dry. The rose is there but doesn’t dominate. It’s special, spiced, and ambered. Very long-lasting with beastly projection. I haven’t tested it on skin as it’s a gift for my husband. I recommend it for autumn/winter and evening wear. It suits my husband perfectly. At first, he sensed that fuel smell mentioned in other reviews, but now in autumn, it feels much more wearable. I love it; it’s unique.

I have a 2ml decant of Ombre Nomade and just ordered the Noir to compare. It’s a great dupe, practically 1:1. Perhaps less raspberry, but it’s an opening note that fades quickly, so unless you atomise them together, you won’t notice the difference. The dry-down is identical. They say trained noses detect Jean Lowe synthetic notes, but in blind tastings, experts or not, no one finds differences between dupes and originals; brands alter perception. This is the case. Incense, oud, rose, raspberry, and saffron. Rich, masculine, but heavy and not versatile. Recommended for going out at night, into the woods, or in the cold. Warning: few trigger sprays because it can overwhelm. For the price of Ombre Nomade, I recommend buying the Noir; no one will know the difference. If you’re unsure, buy a 1ml decant of ON then the Noir; it costs almost the same. If you dislike oud or orientals, neither will suit you.

I tried a decant and upon applying it, I thought of Dermaglos cream. It’s similar, but Bareeq by Al Wataniah is more versatile and of better quality.

  • Impressive fragrance, 24 hours on the skin and still, after showering, it remains impregnated on you. I wasn’t lucky enough to try Ombre Nomade, but if this surpasses it… it must be an atomic bomb. If you can try this, it’s an impressive olfactory experience.

  • Be very careful, this is not a blind buy. I atomised it in the shop and it’s not an ADN for me; the opening is super potent and piercing with Oud. I do note the raspberry and the rose touch, but the predominant note is Oud. Very dark fragrance. Only for winter and night. Not for everyday wear. It stays on the skin for an infinite time. Honestly, I prefer other dark fragrances, like Boss Bottled Absolu. Finally, I decided not to buy it. My wife hated the scent on skin, I could stand it, but as I said, it’s not an ADN for me. I understand it could enchant or be hated.

  • Very masculine fragrance, smelling of leather, woods and frankincense. Perfect for a formal occasion or something slightly dressier. For going out, girls won’t be flattered because it’s a very strong and masculine scent. The only thing I criticise is that the raspberry isn’t felt as much as in Ombre Nomade.

  • One of the new additions to my collection; I still use it sparingly. I hesitated in the shop, but I think it’s an acquired taste; I love it now. I don’t wear it much outside as it needs cold weather to shine, but at home in the evening it’s my favourite. Super masculine scent, incense at the start, then the rose shines without being ‘grandma-like’. Formal, for dressing up and evening wear. Image: old armchair, dark carpet, psychology books, a well-groomed 60-year-old man in a robe with a pipe. Sophistication. Scent: 9/10. Atomiser: 4/10, that strange two-stage one is dreadful. Longevity: 8.5/10. Versatility: 7/10, only for night and formal events, mystical and dark. Price: 9/10. Do not recommend blind buying; it’s a profile not everyone likes. For now, 8.5/10, totally recommended for the price (£30-40 in Spain); we’ll see how it performs abroad.

  • Very masculine, leather, woods, and incense. Ideal for formal occasions or when well-dressed. For going out, girls won’t be flattered; it smells very strong and masculine. The only drawback is the raspberry note isn’t as noticeable as in Ombre Nomade.

  • It’s one of the most recent in my collection, so I still need to use it more. When I tested it in the shop it didn’t quite convince me, but I feel it’s an acquired taste; I love it now. I haven’t used it much outside because the weather isn’t cold enough yet to wear it well, but I use it a lot at home after my evening bath; I’m fascinated by it. It’s a super masculine scent due to the frankincense at the start, and then the rose note really stands out, which suits it perfectly, nothing like ‘grandma’s perfume’. It’s formal, for wearing well-dressed and at night. Image: armchair in a study, antique furniture, dark carpet, psychology books. Well-kept sixty-year-old man, in a robe with a pipe. Class and sophistication. Scent: 9/10. Atomiser: 4/10, one of those rare two-stage ones, terrible. Longevity: 8.5/10. Versatility: 7/10, only for formal and evening occasions, it’s mystical and dark. Price: 9/10. Blind buy: No, it’s a profile that doesn’t suit everyone and I think it’s an acquired taste. For now I give it 8.5/10, totally recommended for its price (30-40 euros in Spain). I’ll see how it performs outside and if my rating changes.

  • Very rich and elegant fragrance, fundamental for special occasions. Could be worn on fresh spring evenings. It lasted 12 hours and had a heavy trail. I bought it blind and liked it, but you should try it before because not everyone likes it. 9/10.

  • Jean Lowe Noir by Maison Alhambra conveys dark elegance and character from the first use. It is serious, sophisticated and aimed at those who love deep scents. The opening is intense and enveloping, with a dark profile that projects strength and clearly states its character. It’s not shy; it has a powerful opening that fills the space with elegance. During the first few hours, the trail is excellent, with clarity and authority. As it evolves on the skin, it polishes and balances, softening the initial intensity without losing its dark identity. The evolution is coherent and pleasant, maintaining a sense of a well-crafted fragrance. I highlight its longevity: it stays on the skin for many hours, even when the projection becomes more intimate. It accompanies in a constant and intimate way. Overall, it is solid, elegant and has notable performance, ideal for afternoons and evenings where character is sought. A very accurate proposal from Maison Alhambra.

  • Lucianolococo

Straight to the point: if you look at it with care, beware! It’s a super special scent for trained noses; others probably won’t like it. Besides, it lasts and projects with beastly intensity. I love it, but try it before buying.

  • Beautiful fragrance. The first sprays are sharp, with lots of leather and smoke (frankincense), but once it macerates it rounds off and softens, revealing the rose and raspberries over a base of oud and frankincense. You need patience to get used to it. DO NOT be fooled into thinking it doesn’t last: it projects for an hour and then becomes an intimate skin scent. The original is a beast, but this version is less dense and more alcoholic. Acceptable if you want to smell like the original for less, but remember: IT DOESN’T LAST as long.

  • MacaGiuliani

Bought it blind and it turned out great, but watch out: I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s a complex fragrance with a very strong opening that can be off-putting at first. Give it time! It’s designed to make a statement and become sophisticated and magnetic. On my skin, the oud, amber and frankincense really stand out, though the rose isn’t very noticeable; on a blotter, however, it smells distinctly of rose-oud.

  • It took me a bit to get used to at first, but after a year of wearing it, I say it’s rich, different and sophisticated. The longevity and projection are outstanding, especially on clothes (jackets smell for a week or more). It’s my partner’s and my mother’s favourite. It costs around 8,000 Chilean pesos (8-9 dollars) and was a total success. It’s not for everyone, but if you have personality and style, it makes you stand out and people see you differently.
