Lately, I’ve been collecting all the LPRN flankers; I’m a big Guerlain fan and initially ignored this line due to its resemblance to my 1997 Lolita Lempicka and the Le Premier Parfum version. Since 2020, my passion has grown, and I now own most of the collection. This one really caught my eye because of the drastic note changes on Fragrantica, but don’t be fooled: like the others, it features cherry and Regalis. I atomised it just ten minutes ago and thought I’d be disappointed given it’s a limited edition and pricey, but the moment it sprays, it’s clear this is a flanker of the line—the DNA is there: cherry, Regalis, tonka, and rose. The last note makes the biggest difference compared to the Lolitas. The honey I expected from its name emerges after a few minutes as the composition develops, intensifying the rose until it nearly overtakes the honey, which is denser and more animalic (it would have been brilliant, as it’s limited and comes in 50ml), but that’s not quite what happens; instead, it’s a lovely combination of honey and rose sweetened with vanilla, maintaining that unique, intense accord of the line which gradually blends to let the rose/honey combo shine through, with that sweetness accentuated by the vanilla. Is it a relevant flanker? I don’t think so, but it is delicious and updated. Worth it for collectors and brand fans. Delphine Jelk does excellent work at the Maison; let’s hope the next flanker, Le Parfum, or next year’s limited edition takes a bolder turn. By the way, I expected the bottle colour to be different (it looks more orange or peach in the photos), but it blends in with the others and goes unnoticed.
